Thank you for you're help bud. Just bought a CR-10S and dell laptop. I honestly haven't used a computer since windows Vista. Back then I use to get on car forums and now a days I use my smartphone for everything.
I'm going to scan all your videos for basic information like this because it really helps me. I'm beyond being a newbie lol. If you could do some videos on how to operate Cura with a 3d printer I'd appreciate it. I'm trying to download it and work it. I was told I needed to download the cura 4.0 which I did but couldn't figure out how to put it on the SD card. I thought once I found what I needed I download it and it would automatically go to my SD card then I print it but it's way more involved lol.
    Thanks.

Thank you, I'm my experience with other hobbies people at the panicle of tech tend to get tunnel vision with the latest and greatest and forget to help beginners with what they consider trivial but at one point seemed unsurmountable to even them. This was exactly what I needed I exported a fusion 360 file to creality slicer with your help. I used auto desk inventor in school years ago before 3d printing got affordable. So I can fumble my way through fusion ok, But I'm a noob at 3d printing.

Thumbs up for your help. I thought you just take the STL file and put it in the printer but when the printer didn't recognize the file, I was wondering what went wrong. Now I know. I didn't do the extra step to put the STL file into a Slicer program first, save it back onto a SD card, and now I can print!

thankyou, believe it or not this is still way above my pay grade,i waited 3 years before getting a printer as i was waiting for it to be idiot proof, unfortunatly i underestimated my level of idiocy, as my computer level is youtube videos and emails thats it, but i thought you went to thingiverse pressed a "yes" type botton that went on the dongle put dongle in my printer and it printed it, wow was i off, this is the beginerest video ive yet to find, and it helped a lot,but im still having many problems, but on the other hand im constantly figuring stuff out and that gives me a huge high, like after 2 weeks of having my Ender 2 i finally downloaded something into g-code got it on the card and printed a decent print[the larger bed knobs for the plate/base] what a great feeling that is,well its onwards and upwards PS im sure i got files to unzip by just extracting and not using 7zip, though when i dwnloaded it made the process quicker and not so much hit and miss..thanks for thinking of us oldies who are born B.C. not before Christ, but, before computers

I downloaded an STL file of a dice to my CURA and it shows about 3 1/2 cm square on the bed, but the top left Load area information is telling me it is 10.86 meters!! and will take 93 hours!!. What is wrong ? Do I need to redownload CURA 15.04.3? Yesterday I tried to download the new CURA and had difficulty. I have yet to try other slice software.

Thanks for the video for all the newbies. I have the creality slicer that cam with my ender 3 pro. I have tried several test downloads from thingiverse and files created on tinkercad. The slicer saves the files as gcode? I have only been able to successfully print the three files that came on the SD card that came with the printer. All others have ended up just becoming a big clump on the nozzle. It seems like I must be doing something wrong because it is consistently printing the files that came with the printer but no others. Any suggestions would be great! My son thanks you very much!!!
