- After two longs months of watching the A2K project full of excitement, anger and fear we finally know the members of JYPs new girl group Vcha!
I give you my honest opinion on the final members and what I think of the show as a whole.

Savanna's beauty is like she is becoming more beautiful when you look at her longer. And she really is very talented with so much strong stage presence. She knows how to be charming on stage as a performer ❤🎉

I wish he had chosen a more westernised name for the group, especially if the target is to market them in the west too. Other k-pop girl groups that are popular in the west, have more memorable names with English words, like Blackpink and Twice. Vcha sounds more like a brand than a girl group, but hopefully it goes well. I’m interested to see their sound as well, hopefully their debut songs are not like the pre-release ones.
I think, as the members said before, it's definitly a name you wouldn't expect. It has atleast some uniqueness to it. So yeah, let's wish them the best for their debut!
I had the same thought, I was confused why he’d choose a Korean group name when this is going to be a group for the western audience

I don't understand, I'm hoping it was strategic, so they fit into the K-pop category. Maybe if they were too westernised, people would not accept them as a kpop group and avoid them.
I think he did that to give them appeal to a Korean audience as the members being American/Canadian and singing in english will already give them a western appeal.
Great run down! And glad to see another Savanna bias as someone who noticed her charms as soon as she entered the audition room… I’ve been very happy to see people notice her more throughout the show and also everyone learning more about the contestants and congratulating their growth throughout the show! Everyone’s progress was so fast it was hard to predict what would happen next some times, especially when it came to rankings

I think that Gina should have debuted she was really good in my opinion.
I feel like she didn't improve and was the same the whole time, she is still good though and at least she can still debut, she is a trainee.

I understand why she didn't debut though. Kendall had what she lacked, emotional connection. I honestly can't remember any of her performances but I do remember kendalls even tho she's not as skilled as Gina

Lexi was my #1 from the beginning because I gotta support a Hmong sister. Camila eventually became my #2. I'm still ambivalent towards Kendall. I'm not a hater, but I also would not personally pay money to go watch her do a solo show or buy her merch. She's decent at singing and dancing and is fairly reliable even if she, in my eyes, doesn't have the same POP as the other girls. KG really grew on me as well. I didn't like her voice AT ALL in the beginning. Then as she refined it more and also got so much better at dancing, I really appreciate her now. Savana and Kaylee weren't really on my radar for most of the series. Though, I do feel like they were super solid all throughout and made good progress as they trained more.
Same feelings towards Kendall. I didn't like that she said she learned the dance the fastest in her Korean camp she went to and proceeded to dance so poorly in her audition. Now in lives she seems to be looking for the time to be like " I came up with the thing" and would interrupt Savanna because she wanted to explain their hand thingy. She's made a few comments that make me think she's not as humble. Gives me fake vibes. Maybe I'm wrong. But those are the vibes I get

A lot of people don't realize this but JYP take in a lot of his Staff's opinion. Their opinion can affect adding or eliminating the final member count. After watching a lot of JYP's audition, I think he has 4 main concentration. Visual, talent, ability to get along with other members and ability to get along with the staff. Someone can be a jack of all trade but if the staff can't work with them, he'll drop them from the count.

Kendall is 100% K-pop material. People forget K-pop artists are not just singers and dancers, they are also entertainers. She was voted by her team mates and teachers as best character. She has a mysterious demeanor balancing the other girls. She’s gonna be the quiet one that you cannot stop looking at when they do variety stuff. Mina vibes.
When was she voted best by her teammates? Lexus & Camila were voted #1 by the members. Only the staff voted her best & all of them are Korean.

Of course there's more to kpop than singing and dancing but looks shouldn't overshadow the other contestants talent and hard work. Looks don't last, skill does
At the beginning I thought KG will debut only because she looks like a typical white girl. With every episode she worked hard to first get rid of this country swing in her singing and then to improve her dancing. And she did it! I was amazed how good her dance was at the end of A2K show.
I’ve really liked her singing since the beginning though. I’m still obsessed over her cover of “Issues” to this day.
I love how as a society, racism towards white ppl is normalized. As a POC it makes me cringe when ppl say "typical white girl" cuz ik yall would be throwing hands if anyone said "typical black girl."

I was taken aback with the name Vcha, considering they have latino members. Vcha sounds like Bicha, which is not a very nice word in Spanish. Here in Puerto Rico, it kinda has the same meaning as "B*tch".

They should have been named A2K. Sounds cool, easy to brand, and is much more relevant than VCha.
I feel like Kendall would have been perfect an actual K-pop group but this group was meant for America mostly I just think if JYP didn’t debut her in this group he could’ve kept her and debuted her in the actual K-pop group. She fits better in Korea

The choice was already made when the girls arrived in Korea. From this moment Gina was robbed at every evaluation and JYP comments were cheating. Thanks to her training as a trainee she was the best all-rounder in this group good at singing, good at dancing and good at singing when dancing.

Unfairly eliminated Gina released the song FREEDOM (815k v in 4 days)
I agree she was talented but throughout the whole thing her main critique was that she couldn’t express emotion and in the end she wasn’t able to do it and that cost her the debut
@@emely9937 that’s what JYP said. But it was not true. I beg you to watch THE FEELS and BACK DOOR and even the two last performances. The emotions were obvious. The only performance which could be criticised about emotions is Two different tears. But if you watch the original choreography (older than Gina herself!) you will realise it was like that.
Finally if you watch FREEDOM you will see that Gina conveys emotions when necessary

@Paul-qp7mq sure but my point was that I think if he had already decided by the time they got to Korea who would debut, he wouldn't have been so hard on Lexus. He never praised her until the veeery last 2 performances, and that was only after Gabbi and Sunmi did first.
Though Gina is VERY talented and SO well trained, it makes sense that she wasn’t picked. They were sure to point out her talents and that she wasn’t lacking in singing or dancing but they told her over and over again that they want her to improve in her acting and she didn’t. Whereas the 6 that were picked showed they can improve quickly on all of the little notes they were given. (For example Kaylees Pop! was lacking emotion and then her group mission of love me like this was full of great acting)It gets frustrating to try and coach someone and not have them improve in the one area you keep pointing out over and over again.
She is still very young though and I think as she gets older she’ll learn to channel more emotions! She has a very bright future ahead🤍

Lexus was the one I was cheering for most in the show, especially once I noticed how JYP was always so hard on her when I thought she did well. I wasn't sure she'd make it, even though I knew she deserved it, so when she came in first, I was like, it had to be the staff, Sunmi, and Gabbi that convinced him to put her in first place. Camila I wasn't worried about because she always did well and was praised, so I knew she'd make it. I'm sad for Gina, but she never really stood out very much to me. I'd never watch her in the group performances. Even when I tried to pay attention only to her, I'd eventually look elsewhere. I'm really bummer Cristina didn't make it though. I thought she'd be in the group for sure! As for Yuna, I agree with JYP. She did okay in some things, definitely did her best in a group, but she wasn't able to fix her timing issues with dancing, so she would have really thrown off the final group.
I was really upset with the results as my final member opinions were very different haha but going back through the show again and seeing the improvement all in one go and not in bits and pieces every week you can REALLY see the improvement and the valid reasons other contestants didn’t get picked despite them all being talented. Really well rounded members and great great chemistry love these gals with all my heart
I still don't agree with how the group was formed. I could see why some constants wouldn't have worked out, but there were a few which I saw a lot of improvement in. A negative thing about the show is that they acted like everyone should grow at the same pace. I could see Yuna, for instance, about to get dropped, but she seemed like she was just slower at learning. They just didn't care because "quick progress" was really what they cared about. Many kpop idols don't even have that short of a time to train, and the ones who do train quickly are fast learners.
People that gave Kendall anything but a high grade honestly are not understanding of the k-pop industry. This woman had 'kpop' written all over her. From her first performance, I knew she would be in the final lineup. She already could use her dance to allure the viewer. That is really what being a kpop member is all about. It's not like she lacked excessively in any of the other categories. She could dance acceptably. She could sing acceptably. She had timing down. She definitely had Korean visuals. She was perfect material for JYP. He'll be able to take her and make her shine (since she already has the most important part of being an idol down--the stage presence). Dance can always be fine tuned through training. You can see Twice now and their dance has improved dramatically--especially with members who were less capable earlier on in the Twice debut.

I agree with you except for the last line. Kendall is already better than KG and Kaylee at dancing so dancing isn't a big deal because it'll improve no matter what. her singing is the only real problem, and twice in truth really hasn't improved on their vocals since debut besides the main singers, plus small improvements from everyone else. as much as I love momo, she still cannot really sing. same with itzy, just small improvements and tbh I've seen the biggest improvement in ryujin. hopefully it's different for vcha as the boy groups of JYP always improve insanely. But also, the whole point of the show was to help them improve and JYP fully lying to Kendall every time and dragging her teammates on stage was disrespectful to everyone involved, including Kendall. she could've improved so much more like the other girls had she just been given constant feedback on vocals while at the same time being called perfect. this is not Korea, its America to Korea, its a collab, so the criticism towards JYP is well deserved as that's not how it's done in America. but definitely Kendall doesn't deserve hate because she improved on everything else and its not her fault JYP showed her favoritism.
Idk why everyone keeps bringing up the kpop aspect? The group was marketed as a “global girl group” with american/english speaking members, not a kpop group which is quite different
@@tpaige5781 While it is an 'international group', you'll be accountable to Korean based leaders (JYP and his staff), who definitely have a Korean k-pop vibe for how they want their members to perform. So, in essence, they need to tailor their style to what JYPs standards are. And those standards are very Korean K-pop centric.

Yes, I agree about Kendall's uniqueness and Savanna's charisma. Savanna comes across as someone would be everyone's best friend, and she would've fit right in with the best girl groups of the 90s like The Spice Girls and All Saints. Still, I thought Mischa would've been great for the group.
JY Park and staff understand the formula for success and longevity in the industry. The project truly IS an experiment as Western audiences have different standards and may miss some of the nuances of the choices made. Honestly, I like the final members for this group. The contestants that didn't make VCHA aren't less talented or less beautiful; they just didn't fit the iteration of this group. If this is the debut sound, I can't see the others in this mix. They are better suited for solo careers or a different style group.
I'm here to watch their growth and journey from this bubblegum, fun group to something more! My hope is that they've been well prepared by their families and tJYPE to withstand the onslaught of idiotic comments and behavior from the kpop fandom, which we all know, can be brutal. Instead of hating on the members, why can't these people just hope for the group's success?!? Spewing vitriol online is not constructive and just serves to show off bitterness over someone else's dream and that's a shame.
They certainly could have helped themselves by CLEARLY stating why they screwed over Gina who had all the talent and the visuals. One day she didn't express enough emotion, the next day it was too much. How can anyone deal with that, AND she is only THIRTEEN and will get MUCH better, and will probably be one of the best visuals in all KPop when she hits 21.

@@Syrin23 We'll never know what was happening behind the scenes. Like you said, in the end, Gina showed as much potential talent as everyone else. So I can only assume it was related to finding the right fit and chemistry. And maybe JYP Entertainment had already decided to limit the final team to six members.

@@Syrin23 True, she was technically more proficient after receiving professional training at JYP Entertainment. But that wasn't a key factor. If it was, JYP would have required all candidates to have been professionally trained. In fact, he was looking for quite the opposite - a group that could grow and improve though his system.
The biggest obstacle that I could see for Gina is that she really had trouble getting "out of her head". When Kaylee first performed, JYP told her that it looked like she was auditioning rather than having fun and that prevented him from fully connecting with her. As Kaylee walked off stage, she said that she's never going to let JYP accuse her of that again. And in the group performance in Korea, she totally killed it. She was In the moment, 180º change. She's an incredibly fast learner and absorbs criticism instantly, knowing what to do to course correct.
In contrast, Gina never got what JYP was trying to tell her. And to be fair, it's very hard to teach or demonstrate to someone what it's like to perform without thinking. That's really a spiritual journey that can't be spelled out with step-by-step instructions. As I recall, Gina didn't connect to the emotions of the songs during the first two performances. And when JYP said she was showing too much emotion during the third performance, I think what he meant to say is that it felt contrived rather than authentic.
I was blessed to have seen great artists like Miles, Joni, and Tina live. And when they performed in a large concert hall, it felt like they were connecting with me directly - pure magic! That can only be done when the artist can disappear their mind and perform in the moment. Hopefully Gina will grok it someday. It's not something to be learned. It's a subtractive rather than an additive process.

Lexi stole my attention from the beginning... her dancing was amazing! She stood out bc she danced to a boy group and the dancing was very different! Her dancing was smooth and just breath taking!!! I was very surprised she did not placed 1st.
Then when they did the singing competition, Camilia and Melissa stood out.. They did their thang!
Then when Savanna danced to Stray Kids, she stood out! She was one of the girls that I didnt pay attention to at the beginning but totally caught my attention in Korea and she is one of my favorites now! Her beauty just keeps shining too.
Kaylee's voice has always been my favorite. I was very disappointed when she sang Adele bc she didnt give her all and was just too nervous but I knew this girl had the voice! Idc how young she is... age is not a problem in this industry. Idk why ppl are making it such a big deal. Like they've never seen someone young debuting lol I mean MJ was like 6... every praised him.
The whole admiration JYP had for Kendall for her expressions was really annoying. He had too much positive things to say and not enough critique cause she could had used some tbh...

The one eliminated member that shock me the most was Cristina. Nothing but good things throughput the show and she didn't ever place low but somehow there was so many critique and negativr things to say the last stage about her when she did good. Perhps it was more of her character that we did not see.
Gina... she can sing and dance but she doesnt stand out. Not even her looks stands out. What she have, other memebers have and is better. I understand why she didnt get chosen. She is better off a soloist so she can stand out and not be compared to.
Back to Lexi... my girl did amazing but never got the love and praised she deserved until the very end and she took 1st place and that was the best thing to watch. ❤❤
I really enjoyed watching A2K because it was survival show that shows their growth and potential to become an idol. They didn’t have to create drama to be entertaining. *cough which mnet does….

This was refreshing to watch aftr the hate comments on Kendall. It isn't her fault if JYP did favor her in some moments, and the group together will be amazing! I honestly wanted everyone to get in but I knew it wasn't going to happen, but I think some people need to realize an important part of Kpop isn't just the singing and dnacing, but their personalities and charisma as a whole, just the overall vibe.
I do thing all of them had great personalities too. Like, there's a reason why they where selected among a lot of people in the first place and all of them seemed to get along
I think jyp chose some members because of their visual and not talent as per say, like Kendall, she literally fits the Korean standards highly and because she knows how to really “captivate” with her facial expressions, her singing was definitely not what got her into the girl group. And when i comes to her dance, it was good enough for her to enter. But if i were to choose who is better between Kendall, Cristina and Gina, my personal ranking would definitely be Gina first, then Cristina and lastly Kendall.

I think Gina struggled with expressions and stage presence. She improved a lot for the last showcase, but I fear she might not have been quite there yet. I think the last episode, where she told JYP she was afraid of letting him down, that was the first time she expressed true vulnerability for the audience. It was very touching. If only she could have unlocked that part of herself earlier... But as Gina herself said during the character evaluation, it is hard for her to be vulnerable.

@@twice__drippin_stan4676 Ahh, interesting :) I relate to Gina because I too have grown up thinking I should be strong, but I sort of see my own flaws reflected back at me when I look at her, so I didn't feel as close to her as I did to some of the others.
Here, in my opinion, is a short synopsis of A2K, why certain members debuted while others did not, their strengths and weaknesses:
(1) Lexus - excellent dance, good stage presence, good visuals, moderate vocals, staff and/or teachers liked her.
(2) Kaylee - quick learner; group cheer leader; excellent visuals that fit Korean beauty standards, great age - they have many years to improve her, stage presence improved a lot since beginning, good dance, was able to have fun on final performance; she spoke fluent Korean. This would be a big asset to JYP for her to assist in translating when the others who didn't speak as good of Korean needed to understand something.
(3) Camilla - the 'ace' if you will. She isn't someone who I imagined making it--because she goes against every beauty standard Korea has. But, with that said, she was very good at dance, vocals, and had decent stage presence. She was a good leader and also a cheer leader. I would imagine she was liked much by the staff, too.
(4) KG - JYP's bias; She had the most stunning visuals for western audiences and her vocals were flat out amazing. JYP knew this from the get-go. That's why he was so patient with where she lacked at--dance. She improved her dance, but it's quite clear that is still an area she'll need improvement on. Her stage presence is acceptable.
(5) Kendall - partial JYP bias; I can see why though. She had the most stage presence out of all the contestants from the get-go. She could dance and use her emotion and expression to really draw in the audience. I knew she was going to debut the first audition she had. She had down the most import quality in an idol prospect--stage presence. She also had good Korean standard visuals. Those 2 things alone were certain to secure her a spot, unless she failed miserably at dance for the performances, which she did not do.
(6) Savannah - I call her the wild card. She isn't who I would have picked. She didn't seem to excel in any of the things that make up a good idol. She had decent stage presence, but not the type of stage presence I would see with an idol. Her vocals were ok. Her dance, however, was excellent. However, she had more of a R&B or hip hop vibe to the way she danced. I was surprised JYP never mentioned any of this. My best guess is that JYP has this group set out to be sort of like a rebellious, independent youth type of group. This is where someone like her would excel in. I forgot to mention, as I didn't remember seeing this in her performances, if she did good in rap I could see her taking that position in the group. She could convey that rapper-type spirit.
Melissa I heard opted out of going (family stuff?). She seemed like she could have equaled Savanna for a spot. Christina was very lacking in vocals. Yuna couldn't get dance timing down, which ended up causing her groups to suffer a lot and spend excessive time helping her out. And Gina just couldn't convey emotion on the stage. She lacked stage presence. You could watch her dance, and say, 'wow, she knows the dance well!' but you didn't ever really have your focus on her. She didn't have the ability to lure you to her. Mischa was much like Gina, but she had a strange, stale smile when she danced. It never improved. In any case, I hope I didn't offend anyone. That's just my take on things.

Honestly stage presence is subjective. For me Savannah has by far the best stage presence of all of them as she is someone who easily fits every concept (bright, girlcrush, boygroup songs, it doesn't really matter, she does all of them with the right expressions for her archetype, she reminds me a lot to Nmixx's Kyujin).
Lexus and Kendall have great stage presence but are not as versatile as Savannah. Lexus fits strong concepts more (still, she improved a lot in their pre-debut song). As for Kendall, she fits bright or emotional concepts more. She was quite forgettable during Wannabe performance (and the fact that people never mentions that performance when it comes to highlight her stage presence kinda gives me the idea that everyone felt similar about it).
Camila has an archetype that does not require her to put too much emphasis on her facial expressions so I kinda like her stage presence, she is also quite versatile, just not as good as Savannah but still enjoyable (btw Camila is so beautiful, what are you on?).
Kaylee is definitely for the bright, cute or teen crush concepts.
KG improved a lot and I actually impressed about her fitting bright concepts, in most of her pre-A2K posts she looks too mature so I never thought she could fit bright concepts but she actually does.
Lastly, all of them are visually stunning, the fucked korean beauty standards shouldn't matter for this girlgroup.
Edit: I forgot to mention that Gina always caught my attention in her group performances and honestly I know I wasn't the only one, that's why I'm saying that stage presence is very subjective. Throught the second part Gina had a mysterious aura that I really like

I saw Christina not debuting coming since she made a tiktok a few weeks before the end but I’m still so sad about it. It would’ve loved to see her as an idol and was rooting for her the whole time.😭 But I’m happy for Vcha.

I understand why Gina didn’t debut. She didn’t have emotions on stage, I always saw a blank look. No, not in her facials but like in her eyes 😭 she gave good facials and like overall she was incredible performing at 13 but damn did she not connect with me emotionally.
I feel like this’ll be JYP’s first and last American girl group because parents have much more involvement and the company will have less freedom (which they should because they’re kids)

Okay. I’ve read the comments on this video. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like some people would be unhappy with JYP's picks for the final lineup no matter what. In my view, you just can't satisfy everyone. Let's be honest with ourselves.
On my first watch through of the final, I really wasn't sure about the rankings and why Gina and Cristina specifically didn't make the cut
I rewatched it with my partner the other day and it made a lot more sense, in that final performance I think that Kendall, Gina, and Cristina performed the weakest, and Kendall was the one of them to stay because she outranked them in the personality eval thing. Obviously feel free to disagree, and I might have been biased on rewatch because I knew that they were the bottom three, but this was my observation in rewatching the finale
I agree with a lot of your points. But have to disagree with the idea that these are just normal girls from america.... they arent Gina was a trainee and had released music prior to joining JYP, i believe Cristina owned a Kpop dance studio (Also i think her or her parents where pretty wealthy/low key famous). KG has also released music in the passed and was possible signed according to some online sources. Most americans cant afford to do ballet or Gymnastics professionally thats a middle class life style. Even Camilia is a bit on the well off side i mean she chose to travel allllll the way to dallas to audition instead of a city closer to her why you ask? because she was performing dalla dalla... which sounds like... dallas. i feel like out of these girls the only girl i felt was your average girl of the street that dreamed to be a Kpop star was Yuna everyone else could either dance or sing already or were just financially very well off. Now im not saying there is anything neccessary bad about this just that i was expecting the candidates to be more relatable. Also Gina getting cut was a surprise but needed she is just too.... artificial if JYP had added her to group she would have become a forgotten member real quick
Sure, I used "normal girls from America" as an exaggeration. I agree with you. It DEFINITELY helped most of the girls to grow up in a household where they had probably the possibilities to train singing and dancing over many years already.
I really wanted gina and Cristina to debut.. But i hope they can't in another group because i remember no one from SIXTEEN had a bad career..
These survival shows will definitely be beneficial to the one that wasn't chosen, they got exposure

What many don't know about most of these "reality" tv shows is that it's not in real time. They were recorded months prior to premier and when we saw the edited finish, we can definitely tell who was chosen for the final team to debut. I'm sure the others got good compliments, just not in the edited finish of the premiered show.

True!!! People don't take into consideration the final contestants were filmed on the same day as the last two performances. So the two final performances were just a confirmation of their picks from previous evaluation

I honestly think JYP had picked out 75% of his final lineup after the 1st or 2nd episode. After that, it was just tuning things up to make sure the ones he had picked could learn (fast). I think a surprise was Camilla. She doesn't have Korean beauty standards looks at all. However, he couldn't deny her talents--as she was good at vocals, dance, and had decent stage presence. Gina did not make it to Korea for 2 reasons. The primary reason was that her focus was around perfect dance and if there were stage presence vs. perfect dance--she would lean towards dance. Her ability to entice--to lure the audience in just wasn't there. Smiling is not good enough. You have to use your expressions and emotions to captivate your viewers. And she couldn't do this. She also didn't have Korean beauty standards. As superficial as it seem--one of their criteria is this. I don't know why it was a surprise to you that Yuna didn't make the cut. She did not have music timing down. And her lack of this caused the team to spend a lot of time helping her. She never actually got this down and this is a great hindrance to the group. To any kpop group. You can't have someone dancing a beat behind--it just looks terrible. Christina did not make the cut because of her vocals--I'm sure of it. I had to cringe numerous times when she tried to sing. Her vocals were bad. And there you have it. I honestly myself don't know how Savannah made it--she didn't give me a kpop vibe. She had to much 'umph' in her moves and had more of a hip-hop vibe to me than a kpop vibe. But it just tells me that perhaps JYP is going to have this be the next Itzy group, whose song and videos will require someone with a hip hop attitude.

i don’t really agree with them not fitting the korean beauty standards. like of course not 100% but all of them are on the fair side, big eyes, small noses etc. also gina was one of the best, even stage presence wise. i’m actually surprised you agree with what jyp said about her bc she was amazing. also savanna isn’t the only powerful dancer. is she just giving hip hop vibes bc she’s black or??

I have to agree that Kendall should not debut since her singing and dancing wasnt that great compared to Cristina and Gina. BUT! For some reason, I am drawn to her more than Cristina and Gina! Seeing her grow makes me smile! Her singing and dancing have gotten better over the episodes! That alone makes her my Bias alongside Kaylee! Ngl, Kendall’s stage presence and emotions she put inside the performance makes the group a lot better together with the other talented members!!
No hate to the other members! Camilla is a obv going to debut cuz of her consistency. Savanna’s unique charm and dancing! Kaylee’s stable singing and also fluent in both Korean and English! KG with her amazing voice and Lexus with her outstanding dance!! All of them have great talents!! I am glad to have seen them grow up thru the A2K episodes and will support them all the way!!

even at the end of the show kendall wasn't ready for debut, but that's kind of the point! her ability to express emotions in that kpop way made her valuable enough to really train between the show and debut, and the improvement shows in their three predebut songs and their youniverse performances. i was hesitant about her, like most people, but she's definitely cemented her role and deserves it. jyp made the right call.
if we also watch other similar group formation by JYP (Nizi, Nizi 2)
we can get a sense where "the character evaluation" ranks very high in his consideration, where characters that can strengthen the group dynamics (including, and perhaps especially, behind the scene) is deemed very important for a group that can be a cash cow for the company for a loooong time
Kendall has this unique charm. When I've watched the fancam version of "y.o.universe" she was the one who stood out the most for me.

I completely agree, I myself said in the comments that she got favoritism, but only saying it was JYP's fault and not hers, she is actually skilled and has great work ethics. She's cute and expresses emotions really well, which is a huge part, whether people like it or not (especially in the k-pop industry), of what makes one choose a member instead another. I just think they could've done a better job regarding how it appeared on screen, that would've probably attracted less hate than it did... Overall, very happy with the outcome and the final members, eventhough I'm sad Gina didn't make it into Vcha, she is really skilled, multilingual, and had a great chemistry with the rest of the group... also before anyone comes for me, i LOVE kendall. i'm a stan since day one. i am calling out the favoritism because it actually made a lot of people resent her due to the unfair treatment towards the other members.

Surely, no one knows K-pop idols better than the judges and staff who work with the artists. No one has ever seen what happens behind the scenes of the stages. I don’t know what kind of fan you are of hers, but joining the hate bandwagon by saying she’s not good enough is unnecessary.

Kendall has amazing visuals for sure and I think that’s so valuable, but I can’t get behind how nasally her singing voice is. I always know it’s her singing and it’s not very good, but I know she made it as far as she did because of her visuals and dancing. Her performance of Sunmi 24 hours was amazing singing included though!
The line up is very whitewashed imo, it also seemed rushed. The fact Kendall made to the line up is another example of favoritism. I'm tired of the excuses for her being picked. She's extreamly bland. This isn't kpop so idk y they were chosen like this was a kpop survival show. They're "global" u would think the talent would be out of this world but i don't believe the priorities were straight.

I feel like Vcha/A2K fans have divided into three teams
1. The ones that overpraise Kendall due to the hate that she went throught
2. The ones that underappreciate Kendall
3. The ones that does not hate on her but understand that she is not as skilled as the others. The ones that acknowledge her stage presence and charisma without trying to imply that she is some kind of God of expressions and emotions.
I personally never got That much into Lexus or Savannah and I was always cheering for KG and Kendal more than anyone else. But I'm not against any of them and I'd never hate on them. They fit well together and they all get along and they are happy. That's what I care about

A group doesn’t need two member having the same position, they both are good at dancing and weak at singing ,and obviously Savanna improves much better than Christina(though she have improved a lot) ,so she didn’t debut.😢

I think you don’t get what I mean.There are different positions in a kpop group,including leader ,main vocalist ,main dancer,rapper and visual.
Christina could be the main dancer and rapper,but the two position have been taken by Lexus and Savanna.
The last position is for the visual that needs the pretty face of K-pop style and the stage charm to attract audience’s attention ,that’s why JYP selected Kandell to be the last member.
That’s why Christina lesed to Savanna not Kandell .

I don't really understand why everyone as a problem with Kaylee's age , yes it's really young to début but she's really talent and deserves to do what she likes and want now I'm the same age as her though months older and if I had the chance to début in a company like jyp I would have let know one stopped me perhaps she's not the only one to début this young Jungkook Also debuted at 14 and many others who debuted between 14 and 15 I hope vcha Will have a lot of success cause they deserves it and they give hope to people like me that I can maybe one day also became a kpop idol❤
The thing about Kendall is that she was favorited and she is not a good singer. But she holds up the weight and is a hardworker. If i prefered someone else in the group? Yes. Definitely. But, I'm not mad. She adds on to the group and she is really good in being charming and making dancing and performance look more idol-like (which the other contestants lack a bit). We also need that in a group!

I hated the ranking. It honestly didnt make sense to me at ALLL several times. I didnt agree with their rankings either. I also rly noticed he liked to put girls down before they had to perform. He would passive aggressively remind them of their FAILURES right before they had to PERFORM like dude. Good idea making them on the edge of crying and filling their hearts with pain before they are going to sing and dance???? I really noticed they did that on purpose so they could kick girls like mischa or yuna out. He definitely had his favs. Like camilla even tho i didnt saw her that special at all in my opinion she wasnt better than the other contestants in any way only jyp making it seem that way by repeating it and showing screentimes and giving very extra responses towards her performances 😅 was rly cringing me out . But overal the show was not fair and not that great. Was fun to watch but also not that entertaining

I'm fine with the line up, we saw Kendall not in a judge perspective that's why we overlooked her image on stage and was very critical with her skills. Though it could've been better if jyp also was critical with her skills, but he did saw her upfront in which we failed to see and as I saw her on their performance at mubank, she really shined on stage and is very charismatic. Jyp is looking for entertainers after all and he saw that on Kendall. I'm fine with the group but I'm still disappointed with the group name, I think there are way more better names and they could've find combination names that starts with V, if they really wan to push the V name since the hand greeting was unique. There might be a good meaning behind it yes but for sure half of the audience wouldn't look at the meaning of their group name and will for sure be confused what the heck is that name all about. They could've used an english name since they're an american/global group afterall, they wouldn't know what it is in korean.
Edit: I saw some comments that they're still not prepared, coz they're indeed very new with only 1 year of training (to think that they trained because they have to pass their missions which is not really proper training imo) Looking back with NiziU, they had their debut almost 6 months from the nizi project show so I'm 80% sure they will kinda follow that timeline and after this predebut stuffs they will prepare for their debut maybe at least 6 months-1 year so they can really properly train and prepare.
While her singing is visibly shaky on the last stage, I think what helped Kendall to be the last member chosen for the group is her character evaluation. Tied with Lexi as number one, the staffs definitely favor her more than Gina and Christina. She was also rank 4th as a good teammates by other contestant so combining it with her rank from the staff, her average number could theoretically eclipse Gina and Christina's numbers. I think Gina and Christina rank high as a teammates too tho so the final key here is the staff evaluation of the girls.
(Let's hope Christina didn't get unfairly judged by the staffs because of the color of her skin 😅)
EDIT: Sorry for the misinfo! Kendall is 4th overall in Character Evaluation, this rank is already the average between the staff vote (where she tied with Lexi as number one) and the top favourite by the other contestant. At the final episode, Kendall does rank higher than Christina and Gina in Character Evaluation.

Yes, I had no doubt Cristina would make it (she was my second favorite after Kaylee), she just had it all and honestly Jyp seemed to agree. I was so shocked to hear that she didn’t make it ,I called shenanigans .Jyp gave ZERO inclination that she wouldn’t make it, but than when he mentioned that the decision wasn’t his alone it made more sense. It still sucks 😞,I also hope it wasn’t because of her skin color because based on her talents (and even visuals,come on, she’s GORGEOUS and her facials were everything) it just doesn’t make sense. Sure… Are we still pretending?! If you saw the Nizi project and paid attention, it’s very evident that when JYP finds a contestant beautiful, he lets her debut, even though she doesn’t know how to sing, as happened with Ayaka in NiziU.
The favoritism was too obvious. They tried to justify it, giving her a lot of screen time "being a nice person”, but it wasn’t reflected when they chose the three “best friends” to go to the amusement park.

If you watch the last eps in which they did the final choosing, one of the lady said "she has the most attractive quality that most kpop want...." Im sure they were talking about kendall because whether she had real talent or not (and im not saying she doesnt) she already had that look of what all kpop girls look like. But to be honest all kpop are the same.

The way some people say their opinions and speculations as if they were fact when in reality it's pure conjecture is really disgusting. When people mention Kendall being picked just cuz of visuals when literally no one throughout the show has commented on anyone's visuals unlike in Nizi Project. Or that JYP is biased when he's not the only who decides the ranking. Like when they were deciding the last member you can clearly hear the staff say "I would pick her among these three" or when Kendall ranked first in the individual round, you can hear staff favour her and even the other girls thought she would top.

I have no issues with any of the girls in VCha, and the person who is the BEST in their live performance (and is the best by a wide margin) is Kendall. My issue is how they screwed over Gina. Inexcusable. Back on topic, in their first live performance, Kaylee looked bad. She kept checking on the other members. She was much better in the second live performance. I don't like KG's facial expressions. Just a personal preference. Camilla is rock solid. Kendall is a star. Kaylee will be one too. The other three are mid to me.

The only person I didn't like for the lineup is KG. I think she lacks many things. I knew she grew over the time but I just don't like her voice. It seems like she would do better as a soloist. I'm glad Lexus made it she was my fav since the beginning. She's an all rounder. She isn't lacking anything. I thought that Kendall should of got first though. I don't understand the hats she gets she is definitely the best out of every member. She has the kpop image and energy. Kaylee is young but who cares it's just an age, other idols are young too.
