    I just got the Z-Fold 5 and it is off the chain good. My only 3 wishes on the Fold series would be a little wider cover screen, a built-in S Pen and the camera array of the S23 Ultra. With those changes Samsung would blow the doors off every other phone on the market. I feel widening the Fold just a little would open the real estate door enough to fit in the better cameras, S Pen and maybe even a bigger battery. I have heard Samsung is worried about the weight, but they were also worried back when the Note series came out and that didn't hold it back from being one of their best phones ever. Really, when you think about it, it's very hard for the human hand to tell the difference between a few grams. It would be worth it to gain the improved hardware.

    This was a thorough review. Just like they said, we need the "Fold Ultra". Put those high MP cams on the fold with a small built in S-Pen, and you've got the perfect phone. The fold is already quite crowded internally with parts, but Samsung will do it eventually. I'm confident.

      Its gonna be a bit too expensive though lmao. The one thing that bothers me about the foldables though is the durability. I for one if spend that much on a phone, I will want it to last 4 years before I switch. But the Folds, thus far have had durability issues which just cannot be solved as easily simply because phones like Ultra come with a full glass and metal build with a sturdy screen, which of course will last way longer. Dont get me wrong, I love Folds, and would definitely get one someday, but its the durability and longevity aspect which always has me pensive.

      Agreed. Samsung needs to make the Fold have the same folded aspect ratio as the S23 Ultra and add the cameras from the S23 Ultra. This and the S23 Ultra being more durable has been my hesitation in buying the Fold 5.

    • @ValCharis
      @ValCharis ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! But it's a political choice, they could already do it, the question is do they want to do it.. It's like Apple who could run MacOS on the iPad with M chips or all the software limitations they make on their phones. And here, with the tendency of getting thinner thinner thinner, always thinner, with the Folds, I'm not sure our wishes are about to happen. But the day the Fold has no compromise, it will overcome everything and clearly the Ultra as well. So, is that what they want? Mh :l

      Man after using Samsung for 10 flagship years
      I started to feel that every new model has worse cameras than previous,
      Also now I feel my s23 ultra camera is worse than my base model s22
      Also I started to feel that iphone 13 pro max not the 14 pm
      Has better real looking photos
      Yes Samsung has tons of details but it feel very sharp and ugly after a long time of using it
      Currently I am pissed that I rarely use the camera
      I remember i took 4 thousand pictures and videos with my s22
      But when I got the s23 ultra, i took couple of photos 90% of it are selfies and then I got pissed and turned off because I don't like the processing,
      Very ugly and I am very sad tbh.
      I wanna know for real, does the 13 pro max has better looking photos ?
      Or it's just be imaging stuff ?
      I dunno there is something about it makes me feel it looks better
      I gave it to my sister tho,
      She always wanted me to take a picture with my s22 6.1
      And I actually took very good photos
      But my s23 ultra won't take same photos
      I compared it yesterday
      Took a picture of a ice cream poster
      It was dark red, my s23 ultra made it very contrasty pink, looking at it, disappointed me
      It even looks ugly aside from the inaccurate color.

    • @DrAlyElashry
      @DrAlyElashry ปีที่แล้ว

      My previous iphone 13 took the poster picture and it was dark red, maybe a little bit darker than reality but it's like 90% closer to reality than the 23 ultra which wasn't real at all in colors.

    I am not normal, the more I watch these reviews the more I realize that most people really care about the camera. I take pictures of documents, serial numbers on things and pictures to remember where parts went and cables plug back in. I like scenic views as much as the next person but the camera just gets in the way of the most beautiful views and never does justice to life. I bought the fold 5 because I need the screen for my EFB but if I was going by preference I would get the flip and if they made a cheaper version with no selfie cam and one lens on the back I would buy that in a heartbeat even if it was only 10mp. I mostly like the flip because it fits in any pocket and you can hang up by closing the phone, that never gets old.

    If you want a "camera" buy a,, (drum rolllllll) ,, camera.
    The fact is, most phone cameras are just perfectly adequate digital cameras, for most everyone these days.

    I was so much confused between ultra and fold 5 but a smart move after doing so many analysis and reviews I will go with 23 Ultra reason being the fold 5 is still in a development stage where samsung is refining it every year, the hinge cost almost $700 may be after a year or two their is always a risk it may get damage. it was very common in fold 4 after 1-2 years of use. I will go for Fold but may be Fold 7 or Fold 8 but now Ultra 23 is tested and reliable product.

    There isn't anything wrong with the camera or video on the z fold 5 though, it's not a bad camera at all and it can be used for youtube content creators. I'm a artist myself so Z Fold 5 all the way for me personally. Contrary to popular belief it's all going to upload at 1080p on social media anyway it can also do 4k uploading so all this noise some TH-camrs are talking about with the camera antics is just that, nothing but noise and holds no value. It's more to a tech device than what has been being discussed in most videos. Make decisions for yourself people and stand on it. Buy what you want and what you like doesn't matter which phone it is just do your own hands on research and do what works for you. Go try the phones out for yourself and make a decision for yourself from your own view.

I'm not a person who cares to take a whole lot of photos, having said that the pictures I have taken on my Fold have been some of the best according to the people who have seen them. One feature I do use on a daily basis is split screen mode in landscape. It's like having 2 phones screens, and that is a huge reseaon I will never go back to slab phones. I'm not surprised that content creators are picking the S23 Ultra because of the obsession with the biggest camera specs. Creators today don't experiment and pioneer new form factors to pioneer new standards.
    Creators like PocketNow, MKBHD, BGR, Digital Trends and Flossy Carter weren't afraid to pioneer new form factors that got us to 6+ inch smartphones. Now influencers are driving incremental upgrades holding on tightly to the current form factor. Chasing bezel-less displays and megapixels. Every year influencers complain over millimeters of bezel and are never satisfied with the cameras. This has become very boring.
    If you want to be innovative, go for the Fold. It is crazy that 50MP main camera isn't enough when the S23 Ultra is the only device with a 200MP. I've lost confidence in tech influencers.

    If you are TH-cam creaters, yes camera is the most important for you.
    But if you are business man needing the best productivity functions or getting old needing bigger sceen 😅, you might prefer Fold 5.
    Like Bill Gates, he choose the Fold.
    So it is all up to you, you let someone else make a decision for you. It is your money. 💰

    I'm not surprised that the S23 Ultra is what most people prefer. If I were to choose, I'd go with the S23 Ultra.
    I feel like foldable smartphones are not quite at the level where we would feel comfortable using them and not worry about dust and debris getting in through the hinge, the crease is still there (though not as bad as the earlier models), and the fact that the internal screen is delicate is an issue.
    On top of that, the foldable phones have a more higher MSRP and repair costs are higher.

    The reason I picked the fold 5 are media related and i have not heard anyone talk about.
    1. The fold 5 aspect ratio on the inner screen is 4:3 which is the classic viewing size for legacy media in the 90s and 2000s also makes it great at reading like a book.
    2. Classic media thet was broadcast in 4:3 is near pixel perfect. I'm enjoying classic shows, movies and anime on this bright oled panel.
    3. Sticking with the 4:3 theme classic game using emulator work and have pixel perfect quality. Using rt man filter with bright OLED panel 120hz give a very great crf like look. It's almost like having a old pvm rgb crt with the right filters and post fx.
    4. You can doom in pixel perfect quality and original resolution as well as many classic PC games with right tools like super display for PC or native android apps that can rip wads or run old school engines.
    5. Speaking of super display you can use this to have the best damn Wacom tablet pad ever. I use this for Photoshop now and I love it.
    6. Drone operators can now have a bigger screen for fpv and photographers like myself don't have to run a separate monitor for view finder anymore and can take my phone and connect to my Sony A7 system.
    I could keep going adding things like replacing my cars built in display vs using Android Auto but you get my drift. This phone was the perfect device I was looking for. I never knew I needed this until now. I love my galaxy fold 5.

    Carrying both right now (23U and ZF5) and, quite frankly, leaning towards the 23U for various reasons.. That outer screen on the go is ehh..(but I suppose that's intentional by Samsung), the lack of dust resistance, having to kinda baby the device, not much in the way of mounting it in my vehicle, pocketability (suit) isn't the best especially if you carry two devices (my primary is the iPhone 13 Pro Max at least until Android can figure out an Apple watch ultra equivalent..no, the galaxy watch 6 ain't even close.. ) etc are favoring the 23U for me.. As a media device, the Fold is amazing and absolutely love the taskbar! I really wanna like the Fold 5...just struggling to justify it over the 23 ultra ..

      @ArizonaDetailCorp ปีที่แล้ว

      @mikelthewug to me personally, the Fold 5 fits better in my pocket than an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Get a Popsocket and attach a wrist strap to your phone case, you will greatly minimize your chances of dropping your phone, and the Popsocket makes it so that the phone is very comfortable to hold for long hours at a time. Not sure that would work so well on the Z Fold phones, but it has worked tremendously well on my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and my S23 Ultra. The Z Fold is now on it's 5th model, and I'm still not sold on it. I just don't see how I can do be as productive with that phone as I can be with a regular slab style phone. Yes I know the Z Fold phones can hold two or more apps open on the fold out screen, however that seems like a distraction to me. On my S23 Ultra, I can have all the apps open that I need, and quickly switch to whatever app I need when I'm ready for it. I don't know that I will ever be sold on the Z Fold or any other folding phone... and then yes there is that crease. I'm definitely not sold on the crease.

My phone is my Spotify portal and TH-cam, too, but other than that 🤯
      Whilst I'd maybe like to just upgrade to the S22 Ultra, there seems to be a lack of the S22's being made available here in the UK. It seems that the S21 & S22 are being recalled by Samsung and they're attempting to entice users towards the S23 and Z Fold 5.
