Oh to be 17 again. No money , no car but really happy listening to great music like this. 🇬🇧👍
1973. I was 13. And I loved The Sweet.
True words spoken.man after my own heart.
Me too, I was 17.
In ‘73 I was 10/11 years old and Sweet was my intro to Glam Rock. I’ve been hooked for 50yrs. This brings back sooooo many memories of me hanging out with people too old for me to hang out with and going places I was too young to go. 😂😂😂
Am only 60 And LOVE SWEET😊
Brian Conolly - superstar !
Then and now, FOREVER!!
Brian Connolly looks so cool in his early years and so are the rest of the band. RIP Brian, Mick and Steve. You guys certainly rock and I'm so glad I was part of the journey.
He's got great hair, too!! 😍🤩😋
Certainly. Good music, lovely boys.
Ditto
Definitely agree. I've so glad that these guys were part of my youth. ❤
Me too great time x
I'm 63 ,,, and boy did we have the greatest years of our lives , in the 70, & 80,s ,, best music , best clubs & pubs , brilliant cars , & freedom to enjoy life , without anyone trying to run our lives ,,
You got that right, brother. The good old days 😎👍🏼🎹 🎸
Bester Rocksänger Brian Connolly!! Super Gitarrist Andy Scott!! Hammer Schlagzeuger Mick Tucker!!! Top Bassist Steve Priest !!! Ergibt zusammen.... Die Beste Rockband !!! THE SWEET RIP Brian Mick Steve 😥
Dem ist nichts mehr hinzuzufügen 👍
100%!
Habe THE SWEET Live in Offenbach erleben dürfen. In den 70er-Jahren.Habe die Eintrittskarte noch.. 💃🎸🎆✳️🎇💥🌌🌀🎵🎉💫🎸💃
Brian, Mick, Steve and Andy.
You guys were the best 🥰
Sweet forever 🎤🎸🥁🎶🤘
Best band ever 👍
Still love you guys ♥️💕♥️💕♥️
When people talk about great drummers it's always the same old conkers. Mick Tucker gets overlooked for reasons I'll never know. My favourite drummer (along with Woody Woodmansy). This corking performance speaks volumes. As to 'Ballroom Blitz? Epic. I rest my case. ❤ Xx
I'm an 80's thrasher punk but man Sweet was their own thing. Some kind of glam hard disco rock lol. Killer band 👍
Not disco at all, I dunno what you're talking about lol
They were a Glam band with hard rock bones. Not far off Punk.
There was a metamorphosis from the beginning to later work. It had a lot to do with the times.
I'm a teengirl from the 70s. Lot of glam rockers back then, check out T-Rex Marc Bolan too. We dressed all shiny and very tight 😅 with 2 inch platform shoes, guys too. Australian Countdown TV show we watched it every Sunday. AC/DC etc. It was a glam 😊 era even the great AC/DC rock band glammed up at times. 😊
Not disco 😂 Sweet were definitely not disco. ❤
Geil.Tommy JG.63
Steve and Brian never looked better! What a great and till this day underated band.
Finde ich auch❤
I was 9 years old and it was one of the worst nights of my life. My parents' television was broken. So I wanted to watch the program at my grandmother's, but she had visitors and the television had to stay off.
Thank you youtube, thank you !!!
Beautiful Brian. He really made this band.
Until Scott sacked him
Die geilste Zeit, und die geilste Band! 👍👍👍Was war das super!🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃💃🕺💃💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃
Damn I forgot about this one. Good shit man, I was every bit of 14 yrs old
Hearing Sweet’s music again after all these year’s is wonderful. Bringing back great memories. ❤️
Wir haben es gemacht
4 good looking guys playing fantastic Sweet-Music 🎶🎤🎸🥁🎸👍
Best band ever 👌
SWEET (Brian, Steve, Andy, Mick) - absolute masterpiece amongst music bands of all times! Never dated! Never boring! So unique!! FOUR extraordinary talents, innovative, energetic, flamboyant , super attractive!!! I miss them ALL TOGETHER SOOOO MUCH!!! SWEET FOREVER!!!
Rest in Peace Steve Priest who passed away yesterday ,Sweets music will last forever , Thoughts are with his family
😢
My thoughts exactly.
He's an absolute rock legend. We've lost 3 of these fellas too young now.. Sweet; massively underrated, ahead of their time and the harmonies live on. Steve was an integral part of it all from the very beginning.
Sad news,a brilliant band fantastic talent and energy..
Yes So sad he was my fav and Brian too!
The best time to be a teenager during the 1970s. Ok, I'm biased because I was there but it's true. You had to be born just before or during the early 60s to enjoy the 70s as a teenager. Those who weren't missed out on all these fantastic music groups and single artists performing in a wide variety of styles that we had like glam rock, punk rock, heavy metal, pop, reggae, Disco and Funk.
1973 - i was 13 and BriCo was my first love ;-) my friends and i had great and funny times with all the fantastic music LPs
+Nunsweepit421 I was born in '62 so I was a teenager in the '70's (in the US) but I never heard anything by Sweet other than Little Willy (stupid song, sorry), Ballroom Blitz, Love is like Oxygen, and of course Fox on the Run. I never heard ANY of this stuff and no one I know has either. Walk in a vintage record store and ask about Sweet and you get a blank look. Apparently they were huge in Germany, but in the States they had a few "novelty" hits and otherwise didn't get much attention - at least as far as I remember.
True.
I'm born in 81 and I have often found myself thinking the same thing. Although the era I would have loved to live as a teenager is the 80s and all the underground/thrash metal scene.
Nunsweepit421 Believe me, we know we missed out.
No band can make it without a good lead guitartist and singer. Sweet had both along with a good back-up singer/bassist and drummer. What an underarated band !
You could argue that the most influential musician in this awesome band is the drummer. Dude was a beast.
One good lead singer is good but Sweet had 4
Hot holy smoke ... Mick's the most elegant drummer I've ever seen! 😀
Exactly like it was so effortless for him
So happy memories,I love sweet
Very good rock bands and music. Relaxing. Thank you very much.👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹❤❤❤
Sweet nostalgia! What a great track! And look at that beautifully coiffed hairdo on Brian!!!!! I bought all those great singles, back in the day.
Simply the coolest group, they are all stars and will be forever 💕
One more to go and they can have their own constelation. Sweet was my favourite band in the 70's. Still ranks high on my favourites list.
Mick Tucker, one of the greatest spinners of drumsticks of all time.
not only that , he was great rock drummer !
@@ohrid59mk76 yes he was also a very good drummer!
I know, right? If I tried it the drumstick would go flying. 🤣
Steve "Machine gun " Smith
70s thing. Was great watching it. I still can’t do it never mind play drums. Respect ✊
I was 15 in the far 1973 and..oh my! I still remember the excitement when I listened "Hell Raiser" for the first time! The Sweet were the voice of my youthfulness.
same here born 1958 brilliant
+aurelio laloni I was born in 1972, in Brazil, too late and too far.
+aurelio laloni I was born in1966,in siberia,USSR and i listened this song in1978,and this killed me....almost!
+Marcio de Souza I was born in 2001.
Chrisibanez 1973 don't worry! You have a lot of time in front of you and tons of great records to listen and fall in love with, don't be shy, be adventurous and....don't believe the hype! Cheers
We want SWEET, we want SWEET, we want SWEET. 🙋♀️💃🕺🏃♂️🏃♀️🚶♀️
Hi You Know The Sweet Was The Best Band Ever , Many, Many Thanks Brian Connolly And The Sweet For all Good Music Best Wishes From: Rogert Nyberg With family 😁👍
UMEÅ , SWEDEN
Brian best singer and beautiful face
I met Brian and the band years ago and ended up having a drink with them. next nite at concert they came on stage and he give me the thumbs up.
You happy man! I would have so enjoyed being in your place
the real slim shady mm is a sweet fan xD
sounds like fun. You had fun, did you? well, if you did, awesome!
When I see old reels from the 70’s I feel so cheated. I was born in 74 & only have vague memories, but some of my earliest memories at age 3 & 4 were of bands like the Sweet, T-Rex, Queen, Kiss bc of my babysitters and my mom had me right out of high school. This was such a nitty gritty time when pop culture was still young. Nowadays nothing has character. Everything is so mass produced and formal.
Steve, Andy, Brian And Mick ❤❤❤truly awesome.
Sweet"!
The Best Song of Sweet, i love it.
Best is sweet fa but this one stands out the most because it comes from the early bubblegum period.
a massive slice of 1970's Glam Rock, just brilliant !!
the glitter under the eyes from t.rex top of the pops hot love 1971.
SWEET !!!!! You Can play every single song they ever recorded in order or shuffle and never skip or be bored--just listen to this!!!
His voice is great!❤️The incredible riffs!
Mr.Tucker best drummer of the 70's full stop.
Best drummer ever
May the Lord receive your soul in Heaven, and make you Rest in Peace, Steve Priest..
You did an excellent job.
We all.will miss you.💔😢😞🎸
This song has been covered by other bands over the years but these guys were the best hands down
Check out Ravens cover...
It's a essential part of The Circus of Horrors shows.
Most iconic rock band to ever grace the recording studio.
Still rocking to these guys in 2024❤❤
How on earth anyone in the band could even attempt to mime in time to the music whilst the audience were clapping so persistently out of sync with the actual beat all the way through I really don't know. Lol. Love the way the boys were making no real attempt to pretend they were actually playing anyway, they were just having a good time. What a track Hell Raiser is, one of the best of The Sweet at their best. Still play it in my own band to this day, explosions and all. Brings back great memories every time. Thanks lads.
So into this band! I grew up when they were popular and they stuck with me for life! The cream rises to the top and their music will always stand the test of time and always fresh!
There were the best of the glam rock groups bk in my day ,,and there music still stands today
So true ,,us 3 brothers loved there music in the 70s ,,pure class
I was 13 when this happened the following year I started playing drum , to emulate my hero Mick Tucker , and almost 50 years later he is still my fav drummer of all time and I’m still playing too :)
Thank you guys the fantastic Sweet-Sound, the joy you brought to your fans and now the great memories 🥰
I still can't believe that tens of ultra-big hits of the group The Sweet only made it to the number 2 spot. When we remember the number 1 spot, it's only now that we can see that it's a shame that my pets only had one song on top.
RIP STEVE a big THANKS for being there 😢😢😢😢
Omg Brian was a Star and a half!! Gorgeous!
О-Б-О-Ж-А-Ю ! 😊🌟🌟🌟🌟👏👏👏👏🌹🎄
Brian so beautiful here, looking fabulous
How did the audience keep their hands off him? Looking his absolute best here.
@@alisonpatrick7739 can i give u one/
The Sweet were F===ing Brilliant, probably the "Best" of the "Glam Rock" bands to come out
of the early 70's. r.i.p Brian and Mick. Hang on in there Steve and Andy.
So very very sad STEVE passed away 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
OMG now we've lost Steve. r.i.p Steve. Hang in there Andy, Keeping Sweet Alive.
And now Steve has has passed away. r i p Steve. Hang on in there Andy.
I WAS 15 IN 1973, LUCKY LUCKY ME!!
Now I know where Motley Crue got most of their inspiration
Kick Start your heart
right down to using the pre recorded stripper music when they take the stage..(there's an old clip of crue doing that during a daytime outdoor gig on the too fast for love shows)...to vince lightening his hair and wearing a tight red leather jumpsuit like brian in the ballroom blitz video...to tommy twirling the drumsticks like mick tucker !.....damn right they copied sweet ! 😡
Some of early Scorpions music is influenced by Sweet!!!
Except that The Sweet are good!
True dat!
Sweet were fantastic
First Neil now Steve. Bad year for some of my favorite musicians.
RIP and Thank you for the music and the memories that the music made.
Love the band Sweet and their cool trendsetting brazenness campiness, they could really sing and were masters on their instruments. How could you NOT get into them too, they will always be relative! 😅
They were ahead of their time. Precursor to "Glam Metal"...Kiss, Motley Crue, etc..
I want to go back and watching these fantastic guys live 🥰
Still love you guys 💕♥️
I never tire of listening to them and watching them perform. Individually, they each had something very special. Together they were magical! ❤️🔥
Crap. Average singer. Average guitarist. Average bass player. Average drummer... who was better at twirling his sticks than actually hitting the skins. The fact none were, or are, named in Greatest lists for their individual departments (in the same way Sweet is never in any Greatest Bands list) is proof of that. Sweet fans are ignorant and deluded 🤡
I love this awesome 😘 band RIP Steve😿
Thanks TH-cam! For making this available! Keeping Sweets music alive!
👏🏻😎🎸
RIP Brian, Mick and Steve
Gonna .....
One of my top favourite Sweet songs, it totally kicks ass!!! I can see Motley Crue were influenced by the riffs of this song when recording "Kickstart My Heart" as the the riffs sound very similar!
Great band, lovely songs, may brian, steve and mick find peace in heaven
Just Brilliant
Sweet... The Best of All the 70's Glitter Bands!!!
When I was 12 years old I listened to your music THE SWEET . You guys are great. Greetings from a small town in Poland. Gniezno sends greetings to the members of THE SWEET .
Sweet was royalty of, absolute MASTERS of the glam rock scene. Not even Bowie could compete with The Sweet. One of the few bands that I just never get tired of listening to.
The sweet are the greatest glam rock band ever
BY FAR
"Kickstart my heart" wouldn't be around if it weren't for these guy's.
listen to that clapping great group sweet
This is a really cool song, The Sweet proved to me that not ALL Glam bands from the 70s were crap lol, I love these guys especially Steve..super cool and funny.
I remember being 11 years old jumping round to this with my mates trying to be Sweet,my mate had a record player where you could stack about 10 45`s on it,it was fantastic, next up was Slade and Come on feel the noise,I`d do anything to go back to those great times.
BRILLIANT BAND
One of the bands that got me rocking around when I was a kid, and still rocking...:)
Mein Schulfreund Ronny L. brachte mich drauf .
Mick Tucker,best drummer ever❤
GoshawkeyesII totally agree !!!
That's right. I saw some other comment where some boring pretentious dickwad was saying Mick will "never be in the same league as drummers like Neil Peart and Phil Collins"... and you know what? He's right, because those guys are boring, non-charismatic, overrated cunts. Mick had so much more style and energy than those assclowns.
this band never dies
My Got Sweet in my TV❤😘
A truly timeless classic band, always get brilliant vibes and great joy whenever I listen to any of their great songs, awesome 😜
Sweet die beste Kultband der 70ziger Jahre! Bombe 💣💣💣💣💣💣👍👍👍💣💣💣💣💣💣
Steve priest always said Mick was one of the best drummers around and he wasn't wrong, Superb !
Totally underarted…as the band
loved sweet in the 70s and still love them today at 61
You have impeccable taste.A greatly under rated band.Continue to enjoy..KGD..Brisbane
@@keithdenniss125 yep, I'm with Andrew and almost the same age...always enjoyed this band and still do to this day....stay safe!!
1973: I was 14. It was a great time for great music. Suzi Quattro, Alice Cooper, Slade, T Rex, Sweet, David Bowie, Golden Earring, Gary Glitter, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep i loved them all!!
How can you mention Gary glitter wanker
I wasn't even born when this song came out but find myself singing along to it not caring what I sound like 😂❤
And I wish Brian connolly and Steve prest and mick tucker was still a live today in 2020
Sweet was and still are today 2020 a brilliant group with brilliant songs

Lasst uns in Frieden!
I can't watch this video enough. Brian just oozes confidence, among other things. And of course Steve lookin' great, too.
Thats diff after he got his kicking he was never the same again nervous and that's when the drinking really started
@@dinghyyoung Yep, so tragic what happened to Brian. He was beautiful (and from what I've read, was a really good guy, too) and didn't deserve it.
