Jimmy had a permanent smile, so real and from the heart, RIP Jimmy. In the greatest country in the world, no one should lose it all due to an illness. Thank you Doctor.
I was a freshman at Mississippi State University (1976) the first time I remember hearing his music. A friend had bought Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Atitudes and had it on in his dorm room. I listened to it all night and the next day I went straight to the local record store and bought my own album. I went to my first concert a few months after that at Mississippi State. It was either $2.00 or $2.50 to get in. I ride around now with my Sirium XM radio permanently locked on Margaritavile and I work out at the gym every day with headsets tuned to Jimmy Buffett TH-cam concerts. In 2010, I bought a 42 foot sailboat and took off sailing for two years. I did it again in 2015. Every boat I bought (eighteen, I think), JB should have got a commission check!
Hi Cindy. Jimmy left us with a very prophetic and positive song in Bubbles Up. So many of his songs were uplifting and just plain fun. I have a framed poster of Where is Joe Merchant with Jimmy front and center in my den. And as I have said many times...the conga line forms behind ME. Fins up.
I was lucky to meet him at the cubs 84 playoff game we shared a hotdog and a beer! He was exactly like you thought he'd be a wonderful loving person! RIP MY friend
We are all crushed by Jimmy's passing... but his music will live in us all forever... He left us the greatest playlists ever!! Such an amazing man, very humble, and very skilled at making something out of nothing.

Hi Cindy I was really touched by your tribute to Jimmy Buffett. He was surely a bright light in the lives of us that grew up on the Gulf Coast. I met you at World Gym, Mike Horns gym back in about 2000 I believe. You've always been a genuine nice person. Thank you for being you Cindy. 🙏🩵 God bless you
That was a sweet tribute. I discovered Jimmy at around 16 in 1977...the Living and Dying in 3/4 Time album was the hook for me. My older brother bought it and left it behind when he moved out. My best friend and I would spin it every time he came over and we ended up seeing Buffett many times over the next 40+ yrs. His lyrics and themes have guided my outlook and attitude on life ever since! Miss him dearly and have been binging on his music for the last 5 weeks since his departure to the other side, that "One Particular Harbor, so far but yet so near..."
Navy 86-90, idk how he got me through-almost every night, headphones, Walkman in a 2” by 6” rack I’d escape into key west & Virgin Islands & a “particular” harbor in Tahiti & blue water everywhere…. He got a boy through an enlistment & a man through life…. This is personal & painful & I wouldn’t change “shit” as he once said!!
Hello Cindy and that was so awesome and beautiful and from the heart ❤️ 💙...I know where you are coming from i grew up in a Catholic Orphange in the 60's for 12 years and it wasn't easy
