this channel reminds me of how we all think we would be smarter in situations like this but we literally know none of this “basic information” and 99% of us aren’t psychopaths and probably wouldn’t even be able to speak properly
well yeah, but he takes this all into account. he mentions the specific knowledge he would’ve utilized in the situation AND notes which decisions you’d naturally be inclined to take as a human being. he’s not saying he would never make a mistake if he was there, it’s just very likely that due to his critical thinking skills he would survive much longer in one of these “games” than the average person-and he explains what should be done. every one of these videos that we watch could even come in handy later if WE somehow end up in a situation where these tips could benefit us (lmao hopefully never), so it IS “basic knowledge” it’s just not “common knowledge”
I’d definitely be smarter, I’d never agree to go to some random stranger’s house for an unspecified game in the first place. You already know it’s going to be sketchy if that much money is on the line.
@Mama Yaw im so sorry but you know what happens when you tell someone not to do something im like midway through the 3rd issue and 😞 I just know it gets worse
Her most fatal mistake was not telling her brother she was doing this in the first place, so he ends up killing himself after she had gotten through the game, like dude why didn't she tell him, all she had to say was "hey, I have a way to get the money for your transplant, so we no longer have to worry" and everything would have been worth it.
Assuming she’d win before she even knows what kind of game it is. For all she knew it could be a “who can cut the most pieces of their body off?” Or Russian roulette.
Yes but that's the thing, she didn't know she was going to win the game was she. Imagine she would have died, than her brother would have learned about it ? He would have no sister, no money and died anyway and might even kill himself as well so same outcome.
bro i was just saying this !! she has herself to blame because she should've told her brother what she was doing instead of reacting impulsively and not telling him anything. if she told him what she was doing there was a much less likely chance he would've gone through with killing himself.
When the rules of the game were being explained i would ask what "getting eliminated means. I know it is a bit of a stretch to assume it might mean getting killed but considering how sketchy the whole situation is it would definitely be worth asking!

To be honest it doesn't sound like random bullshit and more usefull. Like early memory-training for studying, holding your breath important for swimming which is fun and healthy additionally makes you more fit, controlling your emotions to be not a Karen...
Ok so I think my years of watching RPDR have prepared me for this one… If the punishment isn’t too painful, you want to make the self-sacrifice. This way, no on sees you as a threat, and thus may not eliminate you given the chance. It may even warm them up to you and make the decision harder if they have to harm you.
but the thing is theyre all pretty desperate for money? unless they have a really strong moral compass or are really brave they would prolly hurt you instead of themselves given the chance
The only scenario that I feel could've been better is the final one. It pretty much just comes down to a coin flip who the shooter is. With this in mind, it is no longer a game of skill or wit, but pure chance. There should've been a third option: To attempt to shoot your opponent, but the weapon will backfire and kill you. This would play on the wits of the user, having an extra variable in play makes the final decision a lot tougher when you KNOW your life is still potentially on the line. Whereas in the movie, Iris has a pretty clear-cut idea of what she'll do exactly as she's handed the gun. This would give the loser of the coin toss a fighting chance, but then if the "leave and gain nothing" option was taken, give the opponent the same choice. See if they would reward their generosity, or if they'd risk taking their own life to potentially take their opponent's, and the money. This would completely change the gameplan of the final scenario, from pure 50/50, to a mindgame of emotion, wit, and deception.
I agree with everything you said, and indeed, one of the Saw movies plays on this idea with its own backfiring gun. I assume "Shep" gives the coin-toss winner a more direct hand in their fates to make them culpable, and less likely to report. Yes, the players are desperate for money, and might believe they've *earned* their victory by surviving so much torture... but it's still their choice to murder someone. Shep knows the winner won't have a legal defense if the police find out just how they survived the game.

Nope. Nope. Definitely not. Being asked to do it in front of a room full of strangers, on command, with a timer, and with a gun pointed at you, I think most of us would have a little bit of performance anxiety. And there's still no guaruntee that they'd even pick another competitor. "I'm celibate." "Fifty-thousand to have sex." "Sure!" "Great. My MI6 super-torture butler is about to nail you in the bum."
"He's weakened himself and gained nothing." Except shown that he's willing to self sacrifice, which lowers his priority as a target. At that exact moment everyone who wants to live wants to make him the last person they go up against, by eliminating everyone else. And that can be a powerful advantage. Everyone wants to appear strong, they think that appearing weak means you will be cut out first. But appearing nonthreatening can mean others will think you can safely be ignored, even when that is a deadly mistake.
He could have also reached out to the feds as well especially if he recalled the names of the people he beat in the last game. The FBI would take an interest in 7 missing people and their cell phone records would triangulate them to that last location. Rich as he is i doubt he can buy off the feds.

This.
well yeah, but he takes this all into account. he mentions the specific knowledge he would’ve utilized in the situation AND notes which decisions you’d naturally be inclined to take as a human being. he’s not saying he would never make a mistake if he was there, it’s just very likely that due to his critical thinking skills he would survive much longer in one of these “games” than the average person-and he explains what should be done.
every one of these videos that we watch could even come in handy later if WE somehow end up in a situation where these tips could benefit us (lmao hopefully never), so it IS “basic knowledge” it’s just not “common knowledge”
I’d definitely be smarter, I’d never agree to go to some random stranger’s house for an unspecified game in the first place. You already know it’s going to be sketchy if that much money is on the line.

Yes but that's the thing, she didn't know she was going to win the game was she. Imagine she would have died, than her brother would have learned about it ? He would have no sister, no money and died anyway and might even kill himself as well so same outcome.
that would of been the first mistake because its a 99.9% chance that he would of killed him self

Truee
That doctor actually won the game but he thought trying to save someone from a guarded mansion was smart , instead of calling the police
