If there's something worthy of the ER, you get taken immediately, no questions asked. But for 8 hours? I'm calling bs on that, unless you just happened to be one of the people that managed to be very unlucky, considering that less than 14% of people visiting the emergency services have wait times of one or more hours.

Always wondered how Jim survived in the hospital during his coma. Just realized that Jim's parents must have been caring for him well into the outbreak, based on the note they left.
They likely cared for him as much as they could until they were forced to evacuate. Either that or they were infected searching for supplies. Or they just gave up. Most likely they gave up.

I think that considering there’s no other humans the “SOS” is implied. Asking for help might mean you have someone infected, or infected are nearby, so no one will help due to the risk. And something like “HI” might be missed.

Being left alive in the hospital doesn't mean anything. My first assumption is that if there is any hostile life form out there, it probably left me alone because I was comatose. So it didn't see me as food or even alive, maybe it didn't even see me at all. Because my heartbeat, pulse or movement was practically still.

Part of it does make sense. That is also why i think the hospital could still have infected. It's just that the area they showed was well lit and Jim wasn't calling out for anyone. The ones in the church didn't react to him going up the stairs or through the door. Only when he said "Hello" out loud.

@@hello11533 I don't know why i fully agreed with him. You are right about that. It wouldn't give a damn if he was comatose or sleeping or anything else. The infected just didn't find him, his door was closed and locked and it's not like they were intelligent enough to do a room by room sweep of the hospital.
Patients in a coma do have a heart beat (unless they are clinically dead and kept alive by a heart lung machine), they have normal body temperature and smell, they breathe and the rooms for helpless patients under intensive care are typically not locked. Also they are defenseless and for a predator taste just as good as a moving human, so no, the fact that someone survived left alone in a hospital defenseless and unguarded is a very meaningful hint (though of course not a certain indicator) that the building is relatively safe.
Which was a bit surprising in a lethal pandemic scenario, given that during the early phase of an outbreak when the "mechanics" of the zombie infection aren't yet commonly known, people would go to hospitals to seek help or injured people who have not yet gone into full zombie mode would be brought there to get treatment, then turn into zombies inside the hospital and infect everybody else. The place should have been full of undead.
@@chrisrudolf9839 Maybe they just lock the door as they were on evacuation somebody would probably think thats its a better idea to at least give him a chance or let him die peacefully without this whole clusterfuck (he maybe never will awake) also if i remeber correctly the door was locked for some reason so why not guess a potential answer to this question
The reason why the would evacuate the one hospital is that we do know thats some were evacuated so i would decide who should be evacuated what would be scientist rich peoples (they got a private jet anyway) medics (nation do lack them so why not take them and send them to the nation who needs them) and so on basically save everybody who can be usefull before its to late
I would like to add that refeeding syndrome was first discovered in ww2 on the russian front by germans. Thier soldiers were starving so they were sent high calorie rations and suddenly many heart attacks and deaths happened.
