Safety, weather, healthcare, cost, scenery, English speakers, all seem to be good and great in Montenegro. These are all my requirements for living in a country. Thanks for posting this video. I will certainly look into more about this country.
The living costs of 1600 are way too high. Maybe in Kotor its normal but not in other cities at the coastline. 1200 for two persons is the average with an apartment of 60 sqm. for example in Bar or Ulcinj.
@@snailtravelers We're in Dubrovnik for a few days, then heading to France - can you believe I've never been? Then in a few weeks we'll be hiking the Camino de Santiago. After a wonderful non-Schengen winter/spring in the Balkans, it is going to be a very busy Schengen summer!
@@snailtravelers Too many videos, not enough time to make them all. lol. But we're gonna lean into the Camino for sure, we've been talking about hiking it for over 20 years, excited to finally get there! Have you hiked it or are you considering it?
Ryan and Emily thank you once again for your excellent video. We were so fortunate for having both of you travelling across the globe bringing us pictures and videos about a particular nation. Now we have known so many countries all because of your good work. Be careful and safe while travelling. God bless.
One of the most friendly people on the planet. Thats extremely important to me the mostly . Scenery it has every country almost ,the most important to safe and friendly people .Many in Europe, not friendly ,very crowded look like in Spain ,in France and England , Germany not welcome .But Montenegro extremely friendly.Thank you for the video
Even though you only got to see Kotor, you got to see what is probably the best place in Montenegro! Thanks, as always, for watching. We have videos from Albania coming next!
I didnt know there is such a country until I watch this video. Is a nice place with slightly over 600,000 people. Is worth a visit. Tq Ryan n Emily for this informative video. Happy travelling!!! 👍🙏😍
Thanks a lot, guys! Now my wife is looking on our home swap site for places in Montenegro. We've definitely added this beautiful country to our list, maybe a trip along the Baltic coast with Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia.
I'm glad Montenegro has sparked your interest! It would be great if you could do a home exchange, especially if the home is in the coastal area of Montenegro. Good luck!
I've lived in sunny southern California for 35 years. The beach during the day is my very least favorite place to be, aside from skid row in downtown Los Angeles. I can understand if you're coming from England or Scandanavia or St Petersburg why spending the day at the beach feels good.
Thanks for sharing! For the internet speed, are you referring to the mobile data or apartment wifi? Where were you when you measured that speed in the video?
@@snailtravelers thanks! Do you know if the mobile data is actually faster? Since the data in Montenegro seems to be pretty cheap I wonder if we can just use that in Kotor where the WiFi speed is slower
Interesting but the language is maybe the biggest contra, living there without learning it wouldn`t be respectful to the people and it is difficult and just spoken in this small country.
I can imagine it's a difficult language to learn. We have been trying to learn Turkish for the past two years, studying everyday with little progress. I can imagine Montenegrin would be even more difficult since (I believe) it uses the Cyrillic writing system. Thanks for the respectful comment and for watching our video.
Thank you for the video. I'm visiting early next year for my own fact-finding mission. I'm hopeful it meets my expectations and I can retire there from Australia.
@@snailtravelersamazing!! I'm also moving to Montenegro next month and I was Abit worried because I'm black but your video has raised my spirit. Thankyou!!
@@richardlove4287 I know there is some controversy with the terminology (expat vs. immigrant), but I'm generally referring to someone living outside their home country either temporarily or permanently.

Presumably you meant the Baltic coast then the Adriatic with those 3 countries you mentioned.
Yet another entertaining and informative video - and they're getting better each time!

All these types of videos are great for young people but don't have anything significant to say to us older folks over 60.
@@dovygoodguy1296 I understand. We are in our 50s so the videos are from the point of view of early retirement or preparing for retirement.
I’m 66 retired and think these videos are great for my travel plans
Why you are not making a video that you can explain a cast of living food and rent not in a Beach area normal urban area
You keep looking for a place to retire someday? Do not take too long.

What about education? Its in English?
Education is in the Montenegrin language but English is taught in school.
