    Thanks! That helped enough for me. I think my take away is that amp hours is battery range, and watts is acceleration speed. And volts... I'll just have to trust what the reviews say about products before I buy them because I still don't understand volts.

    Three other VERY important things to consider when thinking about power , battery range and hill climbing ability are torque, bike weight and tyre drag from wide tyres.

    So to follow up with a question what does actually changing the voltage do for the bike like is it better to turn your voltage up high or lower when looking to make the performance of the bike better power speed etc ..?

    It would be nice to have a side by side on the road comparison from lets say 36 volt / 7.8Ah vs 42 volt / 5.2Ah.

    I think the way to test the motor watts is to put the motor out of the bike in a vice on a bench. Then feed the rated volts into it through an ammeter. Then you read the amps when the motor as winded out to it fastest no load speed. Then multiply amps x volts. (The eBike laws concern the motor's watts, not the motor in some application).

    I just bought this 1000W e-bike but i wanted to know: if i ride a 250W motor and a 1000W motor at the same speed of let's say 25kms/h, and they both have the same battery, will the 1000W still consume watts and energy and have a shorter range or both e-bikes will have the same range?

      @TowerEBikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Theoretically, if you're consuming the same amount of watts then the battery should last the same range. However, it would be hard to be consuming the same amount of watts from these two motors. A lot of time companies will give you peak consumption as a way to make their motors seem more powerful. You want to look for a sustained watt consumptions rating. Even still it would be difficult to get the same consumptions from both motors.

      The Volts necessary to power the 250w motor would be less than the 1000w motor. You're either gonna be insufficient or over sufficient by using the same battery for both motors.

      @Tower E-Bikes How To I got 2 solar panels. One is producing 72v dc 15watts the other is producing 20v dc 15watts. Which one produces more energy?

    Please I need to know. Can I use a 48v 2000w 45amps CONTROLLER
    With a high powered 3000w-5000w HUB MOTOR?
    I can't seem to find ANY info on this.
    If a 2000w controller work with a 1000w motor. Then the opposite is true as well?
    I'm running a 52v battery capable of pushing 45amps. With a controller that is 48v that accepts 45amps but can push 2000w.
    I want to know can THAT SETUP.
    Work with a 3000w-5000w hub motor.

    Thanks for the video !
    I build a 2000w 48v Fat tire mini bike , me on that weight approx 400 pounds and I order a 48v 20Mh 50Amp . Do you think that will have enough tork ?

      Ah will tell you your battery's storage capacity and therefore your bikes range. What kind of range are you looking for?

    Very cool short video.
    How about some basic examples for needs? Say a 80-100kg man who wants to pull his kid or groceries and with some little expected hills with at least 30 km a day, what would be needed?
    Or just the man but 50km a day. And wouldn't it be best for occasional long range set ups that the battery is easily changed, so not a 1 battery assumption but a reserve battery logic to it?

    • @TowerEBikes
      @TowerEBikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Halia, the consumption of different ebikes set ups is just too variable. How fast is the man going? Is he just throttling or is he pedalling as well? How many hills are there? How steep are the hills? The variables go on and on. For the Tower ebikes, if you are only throttling at half speed (12mph) on flat ground you can make it about 30 miles. It's best to test the specific bike you are looking at to see what kind of range you can get.

    • @haliaeetus8221
      @haliaeetus8221 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TowerEBikes I did understand there are many variables. I was talking about crude examples. The maker of a video decides.
      The thing is, ebikes are expensive while being for very specific/narrow use and since it is made maximally complicated from the get go, it is made an unattractive option of transport.
