Michelle Williams and Paul Dano are both excellent and were perfectly cast I’ve watched them come so far in their careers. It’s even nice to see Seth Rogen take on more serious roles.
Paul Dano is such a great actor, so underrated. The way he portrayed Brian Wilson in love and mercy was pure brilliance. Can’t wait to see this movie 🍿
I loved watching this movie as Steven Spielberg is one of the many filmmakers who’ve introduced me to filmmaking and inspired me to become a screenwriter. I’d watch this movie multiple times a day I loved every minute of it.
Steven Spielberg did a fantastic job. Making The Fabelman's movie. I think the cast was great too. Early years of a great director's life. It should of won best picture. At both award shows.
Such a poignant, entertaining, joyous, beautiful and inspiring film! Great on the big screen! Michelle Williams is always amazing, but really, Paul Dano was brilliant, too, and incredibly moving in this. He should get as many accolades for his portrayal in this film as any other person who worked on it.
Sam character is adorable. Same for uncle Boris and the paternal grandmother. Being a fan of Philip Roth's novels, I saw some of the themes of American Pastoral here. As soon as the movie was released in Italy, I went to watch it at the Cinema, and I'm very glad I did it, although I would have preferred to watch it in the original language. I can definitely be called a Dramatic movie, but it is light (lightness in Italo Calvino's sense), I cried many times but briefly, and even if it lasts a long time you wish it would last longer. The only "heaviness" is that of the mother's behavior and talking, and that is intended by the director. Steven was able to portray the drama well without offending the parents; rather, he was able to portray how much our family contributes to our talent for better or worse. There is no judgment or victimhood (neither PoP post Freud psychological theories) but realism plus the right words of the uncle that give the turning point. Personally, I had a similar family, a moody and artistic mother and as in the film the right wise advice came to me from relatives I never saw before.
it is so obvious the interviewer hasn't seen the movie lol ... she keeps asking cast members about "sneaking onto one of Spielberg's sets like he did in the movie" when that was never shown in the movie haha. It's like she read a small synopsis about Spielberg's life the night before
some good questions. Suggestion: Eliminate "sort of " and "sort of like" from speaking. It is weak and uncertain. Notice when those words are NOT in a sentence. The interviewer is more decisive and worthy of the interviewer position.
A surprisingly unremarkable film about uninteresting upper middle class people of no particular purpose, dignity, virtue, struggle, aptitude, acumen or ambition flailing about in neurotic indulgence pretending to be victims.

Love & Mercy is incredible it got me through one of the hardest times in my life. He is an amazing actor and what a beautiful movie. Life-changing
Agreed! Great actor, so versatile
He is so good, I just wish he had made more movies. He has a real innocence and gentleness about him.
he's up there w/ the Chaplins ,Hitchcocks, Wells, Fords, Kubricks, & Coppolas, the fascination he finds in his own work is partly what makes it great.
This was such a great film! Michelle Williams performance was so moving. Great interview of the cast.

Michelle Williams is one of the greatest actresses of this generation.
and I love her, as Paul McCartney would say.
@@rhettsycoplando4064 There was a script for this bloated turd?

I missed this in theaters but it's a day one purchase on 4K for me. I can't wait to see this movie, to have my imagination captured by it.
Dano has been powerful since "The Emperor's Club." I show it to my students every semester.
Love it!
Finest Movie Ever ❤
Really great questions!

His movies are all beautiful to watch but they all such a simplistic and almost childish storylines.

Yawn.
I love people who choose to watch a video and then complain about its content like someone had forced you to watch it.
exactly piss off Hexameter

You are in the minority for your poor and misguided comments on this film. Go back to watching transformers

You mean the Spielberg produced film series? Lol
