The issue with our system is that the process itself is the punishment.

We should ask govt to make the rule to write 300 word essay and get relieved of all criminal charges. If after murdering 2 people, a person can get such "punishment" why not us?
One of the SIGNIFICANT reason why so many people are moving out of this country. The Judiciary system is a big joke, speaking from my own experiences.

A similar thing happened with a friend of mine. When he applied for a passport, the authority raised an objection as there is a petty criminal case pending against him. Now the concerned court has granted NOC for passport a maximum period of 1 year from the date of the order.
This motivates me to get a Nepali citizenship and stay in India.

Please refer to the SC judgement where it was held NOC is required in case of issue of new passport not for renewal of passport.

Lol. If you're on bail, and facing trial, getting your passport renewed is grounds for court to infer that if the trial is not going your way you could abscond. It's perfectly alright to renew for a short duration for specific reasons which are allowed on conditions. If you're not asking for the right amount of time then it's your lawyers incompetence.

There is NO such issue with passport renewal if you don’t have any criminal records . If you have the required documents, it’s done asap. 5 years and ten years depends on what you wrote in the application. I had mine done in a week from passport office .
