      Dowry was never illegal. In ancient times parents used to save some money or presents based on their status for female child as security during marriage since those days aged males used to marry kids, and don't know when the child becomes widow. Now the reason for current dowry is harassment hence it has been declared as illegal. But maintenance after divorce now should only be applicable if women suffered loss of job or career due to the marriage which significantly diminishes her chance to get back in the work force after the divorce. Because not only career but women also suffer self esteem issues and body shaming which usually males don't physically.

    In the eyes of governments everywhere, marriage is a CONTRACT. A fundamental common sense rule for life is this : “NEVER ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH SOMEONE WHO BENEFITS BY BREAKING THAT CONTRACT”. This is the fundamental reason why marriage is a very bad idea for men nowadays. Stay safe brothers!

      We hindus have become weak. Kick the judges, politicians, in their backsides for following western norms and STRICTLY bring back hindu ethos for hindus viz a man cannot divorce ( the word doesn't exist in hinduism) his wife unless she deserts him for another man. In that case she doesnt deserve ANYTHING.
      Otherwise, the man HAS to take care or provide for her irrespective of whether she is stupid, low IQ, lazy or crazy, bad cook, barren ( unable to bear children), whatever.
      The man, of course can marry again for happiness and contentment. But all the time he must provide fir his 1st wife, with ALL rights in dignity and properties.

    Being a female and a sister of a cousin who suffered same trauma, I am appalled to see this moral decay in females.. Remember this b4 choosing/ marrying a girl:
    1. Check the behavious of her mother
    2. Check her spending habits
    3. Check her ability to listen and compromise
    4 Dont go on face value alone
    5.if she is simpleton and honest then marry
    6 Remember you are marrying for a lifelong partner not a model to flaunt .
    7 Remember bad girl will be bad wife and eventually bad mother.
    Get married with sensible down to earth partner . In long term peace and prosperity matters not the money and looks.

    Almost all the times order on merits is much better than consent order, unless consent order fairly takes care of your rights & also records consent of wife to do certain acts/creates rights in your favour like child custody etc., which is very rare in case of maintenance orders. So Never ever play in the hands of judge to get yourself legally trapped in such CONSENT ORDERS.

    • @ImranSayed
      @ImranSayed ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ancient.sanatani As far as I know it is an order passed by a judge taking consent of both the parties for example maintenance amount in this case.. • @bhb4756
      @bhb4756 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@ancient.sanatani Consent order here means a court order which records "free consent"/choice/volition of a party to do certain act e.g., pay maintenance/give up child custody etc. in favour of the other party/parties with legal assumption that consenting party is not under influence of any coercion/threat during recording of such order, unless one is able to prove element of fraud/coercion/threat etc. later to challenge it, which is extremely uphill task. So consent order is like an agreement/contract between parties having stamp of court and non-compliance of such order by the consenting party attracts prosecution for contempt of court and this way judges & advocates through consent order trap the consenting party i.e., husbands and it's a win-win situation for wife & judge & certainly bad one for husband.

    Being a woman I totally agree with you. It's wrong on wife's behalf to loot her husband even when she is capable to support herself. I am shocked by judgment, no one has right to threaten anyone without hvng substantial proof. Marry a person only after showing all the documents of personal income. Kudos to your courage and honesty for fighting for someone's right. This is mental torture for a man who's got many more responsibility

    One thing is, the eager bachelor who is searching for a spouse doesn't know this at all. If this is made known across, then I feel at least 50% of men would not marry. Maybe more. Also, if this trend continues, then it's going to be hard for women also to find good men. I mean if someone is ready to marry a woman even after knowing all these unlawful laws, then he would definitely be someone who is capable of threatening the lady and making sure she doesn't file any case.

    Thank you for the video counselor. I have one observation. These laws such as Hindu Marriage Act, Hindu Personal Law, 498A, domestic violence, dowry, etc., seems to affect the Hindu men disproportionately while leaving men of other religions alone. Is that a correct assumption to make?
