She presumed that she will manage the police verification in Lucknow. People who are crying over police demanding bribe should also take note that its also 'us' who insinuate this evil of bribery. Policemen or for that matter any govt official comes from the very society to which we belong. We inherently are corrupt and hence should not get into 'whataboutrys'.
As usual media is reporting half truth and she’s responding to half truth. Marriage certificate is ordinary not needed, but if you want your marital status to be mentioned on the passport along with your spouse name (which is what happened in this case), marriage certificate is necessary.
