Mark 7 is probably the best example of Tony Weapon Arsenal, if we're not taking the Nanotech into an account. It's just built solely for combat, and it bulky design to put all of the weapons inside is why it at least my second favourite armor.
This is my favourite armour and the first Iron Man suit I actually learned of when I was a kid (because I used to watch the final battle of the Avengers movie a lot)
Looking at how much he used the mark 7 this was probably the most influential and probably one of Tony’s favorite suits to use, when you look at a lot of the later series like 20 and 30 a good amount of them use the mark 7 design which is wild to think about because that alludes to the fact it was never truly outdated.
I love this armor, is one of my favorites. Literally, you can take an army with this armor. But I prefer the triangle reactor instead of the circular one. The thing that always bothers me is how all of these armors (Mark 1 - 7) were destroyed by simple missiles in Ironman 3? I don't get it, I mean for example Mark 6 receive a lot of shots, blasters, and damage by the Hammerdroids, Whiplash, and even gave a decent fight to Thor and Loki and the armor was still operational. This Mark 7 took a lot of damage by the Shitori and was still operational, Mark 3 receive shots from a tank and was ok. For me, the destruction of the armor is a plot hole to Nerf Tony. These armors should survive those missiles and the destruction of the mission.
I know right. My theory is that tony had jarvis self destruct the suits as a contingency, since his home was being attacked and he didn't want the suits on display being stolen or misused by any intruders! in the very beginning of ironman 3 right before the marvel logos, it even looks like the suits are self destructing rather then being shot with missiles, so this could be the case.
Since Tony rebuild the Mark 42 due to its brief appearance in Spider-Man Homecoming, we could assume he might’ve rebuilt his previous armors (Including the first 7 Iron Man armors) as well, and must’ve put it in Avengers Tower, before moving them to Avengers H.Q. I got this theory from a LEGO Avengers Set from 2019 that was made to tie into Endgame. There’s also a deleted scene from Avengers Endgame, where there’s a hall of armor behind Hulk while studying time travel. The hall of armor looks similar to the one from Iron Man 3 but the only difference is that it includes the suits from Age of Ultron-Homecoming as well.
I personally believe that the marks 1 through 7 were self destructed to keep them from falling into the wrong hands. They seem to blow up in order very neatly to be just by accident.
This was one of the most Superior suits with being able to be made a pot plus it fan be entered through the back and it had a jet pack and so many missiles it's very very powerful
Something I am confused about is that it’s stated suits before mark 7 couldn’t use their repulsers or Hand weapons while flying, however mark 6 fired a repulsor blast at the machine doctor selvic was using to open the portal into space.
Very good point! I completely overlooked that moment lol I'm just gonna assume the thrusters in his boots on the mark 6 were enough to sustain flight but only momentarily, since he immediately went back to using his hands after that brief shot 😅
From my understanding the hand thrusters were only to help him stabilize but not needed for actual flight. So a brief moment of using his arms to blast and how far his flying skills have come probably meant he could pull such things off.
Hate to keep pointing out stuff in this video lol, but the suit he used to get to and from the restaurant he and rhodey were at was actually the mark 8 (possibly but unlikely the mark 9) which are both suits of the iron legion that are slight upgrades to the mark 7.
It actually was the 7 in this case lol, the panels on his upper back are silver on the mark 7 (and in the restaurant scene) but are gold on the mark 8 and 9! Tbf the mark 7 and 8 are similar and the mcu wiki had it as the mark 8 for the longest time before making the correction but if you watch the scene in slow motion and compare it to the 8 you’ll see clearly its the 7 :)
@@obscuremcu Also, if you do happen to do videos on comic book armors, I’d appreciate a video on the modular armor since I know less about it than I’d like too.
@@Probably_Deadpool Unfortunately im not as familiar with the marvel comic book lore outside of the Ultimates universe so I might not get around to it, but if there’s anything mcu related you’d like to see that I haven’t covered just let me know :)
Apparently this suit had an arc reactor in it but doesn't the mark 2 seen in the scene with justin hammer and the military opening the iron man suit i get confused which suits do and dont have there own arc reactors
I got nothing 😅 you're 100% correct about that. I completely overlooked that detail. but it's weird though, in the first iron man movie when tony suits up in the mark 1, 2 and 3, the arc reactor in his chest seems to be the one powering the suit. but then again, in the hall of armor display the suits all have arc reactors in them, I really don't know lol
@@obscuremcu lol also in mark 47 when tony opens the suit the arc reactor bit is mega thin so no arf reactor could be in there but then how does ot get powered

Not sure if you've covered this but do we know why Tony continued to use the mk 7 in iron man 3 when he'd built so many more advanced armors in the iron legion? My thought was he held onto the suit for so long because he felt safer in that suit, knowing it survived the battle of new york playing into his anxiety and none of the later models although more advanced hadn't been proven in battle to save him.
I haven’t covered that topic yet but I LOVE your explanation as to why! Knowing how tony was going through severe ptsd at this point, the idea of him feeling safer in a suit that saved his life during such a traumatic event makes perfect sense and lines up with his character! My initial thought was that he simply kept wearing it out of convenience since the mark 8-41 were stored in his wine cellar in the basement and would be tedious to have to go down there and use them when the marks 1-7 were out on display in his hall of armor!
