Fun fact: Did you know Liszt and Chopin were buddies. Apparently Liszt was able to SIGHT-READ Chopin's works, even some of his hardest etudes. It is even rumoured Liszt could play Chopin's "Bees" in octaves. As one could imagine, this annoyed Chopin to a degree but also deepened his respect for him and he dedicated his Op.10 etudes to Liszt, his dear friend :3
Also I read that Chopin don't enjoyed Liszt music
They were Friends but they were up and down with their friendship. It was about music, girls and everything :D
So Chopin made etude Op.10 winter wind and Op.10 torrent on him? those were some very hard songs
@@Jaruq songs?😆
Something to mention, Liszt's Consolation was made after Chopin's death, a tribute to his dear friend...

Traum is so underrated, he’s better than both of them.
Rousseau playing Hungarian rhapsody no.2 by Liszt and Kassia playing Hungarian dance no.5 by Brahms
plot twist: they are the same person lol, in fact i don't know this information
Liszt wanted to make pieces that only he could play. But later he realised he wanted his works to be remembered, so he simplified his pieces so others could BARELY play them.
Underrated
Fake
@@jairohra024 no it‘s not, his hands and fingers were unhuman. And some pieces aren‘t even published yet, because he played that for him self and didn‘t show it others
@@David-_0 yes his hands were large but nothing is impossible if u think about it rachaminoff had larger hands and possible stronger fingers(mind my spellings)
@@jairohra024 yes, but it's not just about the hands' size
i love how both of them thought that humans had 20 fingers
It’s true if we include our toes
@@gamingf.c4160 I don't think toes count as fingers.
I think we do include it
@@gamingf.c4160 No because we have fingers on our hands, while we have toes on our feet. If you look up in the dictionary, the definition of "finger" is each of the four slender jointed parts attached to either hand (or five, if the thumb is included).

The intro: Liszt vs Chopin
Music: *casually plays Beethoven*
But all jokes aside, this is pure talent
As a pianist, I think there's no way to compare them. Liszt has unrivaled technique; his technical skills are teetering on superhuman. On the other hand, Chopin's melodies are unparalleled. True, Liszt has beautiful pieces as well, but no one can come close to Chopin's superiority in producing touching works of art.
I don't know... Some Liszt's music are as beautiful as Chopin's... On the other hand, some Chopin's are as difficult as the counterpart. I love both equally
@@robertopinna220 This is one of the more competent comments, I agree with most of what you say except the part where you say Chopin is as hard as Liszt, Liszt is incredibly difficult, more so than Chopin has ever been.
@@Arobamod "difficulty" is just not a factor in determining quality of music. I can write you the most technical most unplayable absolute hardest piano piece right now. It sounds shit, but it's fucking hard. That's not art. Art is to create music with soul
@@Q-Bits8 I agree completely with what you say.

Get this:
Chopin: mind-bending
Liszt: finger-bending
@Franz Liszt I sary sir, I sary! I won'ts do it again!
Ba Liszt is more of using the spell extendo as much as possible on his fingers
Agreed. La campanella proves it. I can play it and yet I find it hard

Liszt and Chopin. Thank you for making our lives as pianists harder.
th-cam.com/video/URx_l3mhMHw/w-d-xo.html....
*and more beautiful.
Rachmaninoff: am I a joke to you?
Uh, I don't know how to spell his name but rachmanninoff was pretty good...
w about Alkan?
Liszt had force, fancy keyboard tricks and fireworks. Chopin had melody and brilliance.
Liszt had both. Liszt focused more on deep compositions instead of flashy performance pieces during the later part of his life.
@@JimSmithOfficial Agreed
Liszt wrote a ton of beautiful melodic music too, you just haven't heard it. Listen to his 3 Liebestraume, 6 Consolations, Waldesrauchen, Les jeux d'eaux a la Villa d'Este, Hymne de la nuit, En reve: Nocturne, Piano piece in F sharp major, Benediction de Dieu dans la solitude, Au lac de Wallenstadt, Au bord d'une source, Apparition No. 1, Ave Maria 'Die Glocken von Rom', Transcendental Etudes 3, 9, 11 and 12, Romance in E minor and Valse melancolique
“Listzt?”
@@nikhilkher3952 Whoops. Good catch. "Liszt". Can't believe nobody caught that for a full year (including myself).
