Chopin didn't love it. On his death bed friends played the piano near the bed. They tried playing Chopin, and he said: "Not that, give me real music, give me Mozart".
Chopin's music really touches the human soul because he suffered in life, and in his suffering he wrote music of passion and angst. Unlike Mozart who had opulence handed to him on a plate, and was probably poisoned by a jealous husband.

I was once a cowboy/country boy. I felt those long haired (yes, it was that long ago!) guys were something to look down on. Then I went to Ricks College and took humanities from Ruth Barras. She changed my life. We had to listen to some of these classics. Once I listened to a Nocturn (probably from Chopin), and I felt the night. A few years later when I had a cassette player I got some classical pieces. I was depressed one day and had pulled over. Beethoven's 7th was playing. It was the 3rd movement. By the time it was over the depression was gone. Thank you Ruth Barras, thank you Beethoven, and thank all you great musicians! They've all passed on but they know when we listen to them. No surprise that most of these composers were German. But I have to say that there were criminally few Russian pieces in this. I love everything from Tchaikowski and Prokofiev.
So much to choose from, every list is subjective to different ears. I was looking for Rachmaninoff, Satie, and Joplin. I am in awe of those people who have this God-given talent to read and play such masterpieces.
Of course #14 Bach with Air. Very good on the piano - just perfect with the violin! A true masterpiece ... The same goes for #4 Pachelbel - Canon in D.
Erik Satie? Many may not know the name but would certainly recognise the compositions? I personally would have put in Handels Water Music or Fireworks in there as being more famous than The Hallelujah Chorus as they would probably be recognisable to most?

It's incredible how recognisable some composers are just by listening to the tempo and the tone of their compositions. Mozart is lighthearted and refined, Liszt is a fast passing composer, a vituoso that will strain any normal pianist, Beethoven is a bit more serious and down to Earth, Chopin is more cynical, but romantic and he usually plays around with the black keys, giving an etherial tone to his music.
I finds all music on this list as masterpieces. My number one is Johann Strauss II - The Blue Danube Waltz. This have everything i think, and i love it alot
Hey guys: please use the correct English abbreviations. There is no 21th; 22th; 23th - it is 21st (last two letters of "twenty-first"); 22nd (last two letters of "twenty-second"); and 23rd (last two letters of "twenty-third"). That's how those abbreviations work.

Although, in my opinion, the most beautiful piece of music was Mozart's Symphony No. 40, which should have taken the first place in this list.
Surprised to not to see the Toccata E fugue in D minor by Bach.
Пианино для этой великой вещи очень мало...
Surprised that people don't like Tchaikovsky more with his First Piano Concerto, 1812 Overture and Sixth Symphony, not to mention all his ballets.
Its the most famous, not the better pieces.

Masterwork.....Thank you.
I love Lacrimosa.
I finds all music on this list as masterpieces. My number one is Johann Strauss II - The Blue Danube Waltz. This have everything i think, and i love it alot
Johann Strauss music is just as bad for mental health as sugar for body's.
Johann Strauss music is just as bad for mental health as sugar for body's.
Johann Strauss music is just as bad for mental health as sugar for body's.
The Blue Danube is. My favorite.😊💖😊
Haha yeah, i didn't even notice that 😄
Thank you for the correction.
As if there's nothing more important to worry about...
I think Frederic Chopin - marche funebre "Funeral March" is very "popular", but maybe in a different kind of way.
Lol
I love that Chopin is first. The amazing polish artist. I'm proud of him because I'm a Pole.
me too
The first piece is iconic if you dont know it or have never sung it I highly encourage you too. Its just got this feeling that makes me want to have joy and happiness
It could have done with a full orchestra and it wasn't the only one.
@@fredkelly6953😂😊
When you are a classical musician and know every piece on this list 💪🏻
When you know most of them from growing up watching old cartoons.
When you know them beacuse are the most famous 🗿
I read once the only reason why cartoons introduced a whole generation to classical music was because they were too cheap to pay for music and classical was too old for royalties. they used the free music and made it work.
Also Chuck Jones loved classical music
When you are Austrian and realise that more than half of the pieces were written by composers who had strong connections to your country...
BACH AND BEETHOVEN , 14TH AND 8TH????????🤯😱😡😤😡😤😱😤😡
Not true
@@hitit7944🎉🎉🎉🎉
Should be 1 & 2
@@carlospacheco7361 no not really.. cuz nobody beats Chopin.. at least on piano.. his pieces are so emotionally seeping that one never stays completely cool.. the prelude in e-minor is so heart wrenching and brinkless grief evoking that nothing from both B's can ever compare..
@@lexsmith8689 I think you are driven by your personal taste and not really the geniuses of the composers. the prelude is great indeed, but can easily be compared to the Moonlight sonata, yet Chopin does not have anything remotely close to the 3rd, 5th, 7th or 9th symphonies, or those organ works that make the piano look like a baby.
Hapoy to see Chopin in the 1º position among masterpieces.
Chopin’s style I cannot seem to enjoy. I’m not surprised he’s number 1 though.
Ode to Joy will always be my #1.
It is not about best music pieces but most famous ones. The best one may not be famous. Great presentation.
Ностальгия. Преклонение перед конструкторами лучших чувств.
И сколько ещё не раскрыто.
Господи, сколько же ты сотворил чудес
Frederic Chopin this is Polish compositor, POLSKA GÓROM 🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱
What beautiful memories you gave us all. ❤
Nice selection any of these masterpieces can be Numero Uno
Just listening to these masterpieces makes I forget about the trouble and annoyances of this transient world
There is no way Eine kleine Nachtmusik by Mozart isnt in the top 25
That's what I'm wondering too, rating the popularity just based on views on TH-cam isn't fair. That one was very popular, werid to be not on the list.
No. 1 in my book
and J.S. Bach - Toccata and Fugue in D minor BWV 565 too
@@pericoloso1273it's probably in a top 30, because it has 53 mln views and for sure is more popular than others
I expected to be Eine Kleine Nachtmusic in the top 3 and Beethoven's 5th on nr 1.
Where is Wagner Here comes the Bride?
Where is Rachmaninov All by myself?
You did the Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 dirty by not using the friska part. But all in all, all 25 pieces are astounding!
friska part sounds best
Didn’t know Mozart made such huge bangers
excellent selection well done
Who can believe that Tchaikovsky’s Swan lake or Nutcracker are not in the list? Neither Prokofiev’s Romeo & Juliet.
Может и хорошо, что в таком исполнении их нет.
Also Dmitri Shostakovich Waltz no. 2, over 90 million of views on youtube
all this piece are so amazing🔥
but in my opinion, La Campanella still be my favorite number one❤
Saya sangat senang mendengarkan musik klasik. Terima kasih.
Xixi ada orang indo
I'm absolutely shocked that Mozart's Eine Kleine is not on the list; would have thought top 5 for sure.
Great ! But you forgot RACHMANINOFF !
No he didn't. This is not a list of opinions, it's a list of most views.
My favorite Classical musician is Mozart, but I also like Beethoven, as Für Elise, and Tchaikovsky as The Swan Lake and The Nutcracker! There's also some Strauss in my mind, as The Blue Danube.
A bit surprising that no part of Grieg's _Peer Gynt_ ever made it into this list.
Tannhauser (Overture), Carmina Burana (Oh Fortuna), Siegfried's Funeral March, (as directed by Toscanini). Ride of the Valkyries........
Chopin is the winner. Amazing!
Yes ‼️

Beautiful soothing music. I love it. I can listen to it and watch the videos over and over
Thank you

UNDERATED🔥🔥
Great!
I think the only famous part in Hungarian Rhapsody no.2 is the 2nd part (Friska)
I know all and when i hear it i cry because its old memories 😭
I'm suprise that The Trout Quintet and Heidenröslein wasn't that famous🤔I even know their melody before I know Schubert🤔
Und Erlkönig
This is a list of 25 of the most famous 250 chosen at random.
Extraño la de segundo lugar (aunque amo esa pieza, pensé que iba a ser el Para Eliza de Beethoven ), pero la de primer lugar no podía ser otra
