What a load of absolute shite. even the fucking bearing nearly fell off again at the end. But then again theres no way it was going to run. The shaft ends were about 10mm from being inline, The welding not welding. Full of holes. Like hagerty268 said it was like a banana. What a waste of a peice of steel that could have been weighed in as scrap without any work at all.
This should played to mechanical engineering students ... a learning case study ....How many workshop safety rules were broken, what was done correctly, what was done incorrectly, was the repair philosophy sound, workmanship, equipment used, accuracy of repair? In this respect I think this is a very useful video. What is not shown in these types of videos -- where was the welding earth grounded to the lathe?
What a joke. The bearings are now destroyed through hammering their outer races. The shafts are out of alignment, so it cannot work. The part, even if they were not, would just fall apart in minutes as it has nothing like the strength of the original, but luckilly it canno be refitted to the compressor as no attempt was made to align the shafts when it was welded with that silly sleeve. I think it's a parody video, isn't it?
Wasting time major thing he did not do check aliment both ends of shaft. He must start with shaft first or when made connection thing disassemble everything put both ends in centers put connection ring on place make temp spacer between shaft using micrometer make sure it aline weld to secure than put temporary shaft and weld
HOLY HELL! My first day in High School Machine shop could have produced better machining than that! That lathe must have served in Jesus times. More slop than a $2. whore on main street. WHEW!
what do you know - before the repair, the crankshaft rotated in the engine, after the repair, the engine rotates around the crankshaft and it is quite strange?
You might think this is Pakistan, but it's actually Bradford, UK. If it would be Pakistan, we would see developement workers all over the place teaching these guys how to use tables, chairs and even toilet bowles.
Huh. That was a pain to watch how that repairman broke the bearings by hammering them and then he welded the crankshaft horribly so that the shaft is not even straight. I hope nobody tries to assemble that piece of sh**t because if it’s somehow possible to assemble, the compressor may expode into thousand of pieces when that crankshaft breaks. But fortunately nobody can assemble that because it is so bogus. Welding cast iron is not an easy job to do. First you have to heat it thoroughly so that the temperature is even and after that it is possible to weld if everything goes fine.
When he started he had two pieces of junk. Now he has one.
See class... Now "that's" humor!!
Dead right John, a waste of time.🇦🇺
😂
The finished shaft looks like a banana😆
"That's what she said"...
I wish our machinist are as bright and resourceful and does not charge so much like here locally. That is pure talent the idea is immense.
Why haven't such clever people invented tables and benches? I am amazed that they still have all 18 toes.

Looks like a small engine crank, maybe was made into a compressor. The repair was brutal to watch lol
That's what you call WORKMANSHIP....BRILLIANT piece of work !!!!
I can only hope you are joking.
They take such good care of the bearing surfaces. lol
Another very good video in setting up the work in the lathe. Outstanding !
A lot of work for a pedestal for flower vases.
However, you can also mount a mailbox on it or simply use it as an anchor for a small boat.
Goo job Brodel !!

Creative video, thanks :)
Well said, B77
Pěkný banán.....
very talented young man .great job

And to think I spent buck$ on a bearing puller...

Nice to watch.
vey skilled videos. Does the tools overheat and does not requir coolant?

Me gustaria verlo corre.

Nice good machinis
Probably Pakistan; the whole country runs on "somewhere in the ballpark is good enough".
You might think this is Pakistan, but it's actually Bradford, UK.

It’s Pakistan, if you can think of a silly repair or a dangerous way to do it they will try it. A good thing is they don’t repair aircrafts.
Tudo torto fora de alinhamento.perdeu meu like👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
interesting but nice job :)

How much for that work
SALAMVEAN Y APRENDAN
ma questi sono pazzi.
fuori asse, fuori equilibrio, fuori misura!
Good work 👍

Was hoping to see the run out... maybe not that critical for a compressor
It will wear itself in

I thought machinist should have no loose clothing and be in hard boots
A LOS RULEMANES.......ENTRA O TE ROMPO!!!
👍👍👏👏👏👏
JUST FOR VIEWS
NOT GOOD!!!!!
😂
