yeah back in day, i don't know how many episodes i actually watched all the way through besides some of the episodes from season 3 since I had them on DVD lmao but yeah overall great series
I personally liked it when Courage talked normally (and often) in the early seasons. He still babbled back then when talking to the humans too, but we also got to hear more of his thoughts when he was by himself or talking with the computer instead of just hearing the same old pre-recorded one-liners... I was really looking forward to that in future episodes and hated when they stopped letting him actually talk anymore. Despite that missed opportunity, I still loved the show. (King of Flan and Swindlin' Wind are my top two favorite episodes. X3)
It's crazy because I absolutely hated the perfect episode. The villain was more annoying than anything, and I didn't like that Courage was having to go against an antagonist, as well as seeing himself as flawed despite everything we've been through in the series. I hated that THAT was the series finale, especially when it was paired with Rememberence of Courage's Past, which I felt would have been a much better series finale. But after hearing your thoughts on it, I kind of get it. I might need to rewatch the series with a new perspective! Awesome vid :)

Ayy owning the whole box set is sick! I think I owned Season 3 back in the day but I can’t find it anywhere. But for sure! A lot of these rankings felt very subjective so I feel like peoples placings could be all over the place haha
Demon in the mattress is one of the funniest episodes especially with the tea scene and Freaky Fred is the scariest if you understand the possible innuendos, especially with that grin and creepy ass music and Courage's silent screams 😱

I recently rewatched this show and I noticed there is a big gap in quality from the early and the later episodes. It's really noticable around season 3. My guess is that CN told Dilworth to tone the show down, they became less scary and more goofy and outlandish.
in germany we have somthing close to halloween .its called Fasnat. we dress up as witches and monsters jokingly overthrow the govermend and give out candy just in a parade not from house to house. oh and we do it in spring not atum . there are other traditions too in that but i paint with a broad brush here
As someone who loves this show, I like your analysis, but I also feel like you're rushing the reviews and missing the deeper meaning of the show / episodes. There are a lot of environmental and humanist views the show posits that you're completely missing.
I completed agree that I did rush through some episodes, but with my channel I tend to avoid any sort of long form content like this. So for me, it was hard to balance restricting the videos runtime to not make it overly long as well as making sure that I talked enough about each episode. Certain episodes also don't have much going on in my opinion, but there were definitely some I could've dived into more. Appreciate the feedback!

I'll be honest, I think that Ball of Revenge, Remembrance if Courage Past, and Perfect all belong at the top. Each one showcases Courage's greatest aspects: His bravery, his love, and his family.
You really had to be a early 90s baby to get a lot of the episodes you put first. The hair treatment episode was based on the treatment that had at the time making men aggressive. The tornado episode was a play on one of those old black and white shows where a tornado did the same thing and ext.
Aw, no way, you hate Little Muriel? It's honestly one of my favourites. My siblings and parents and I used to quote that episode all the time, back in the day, lol.
gotta remember the voice actor and actress for H and M died pretty early into the show's run, so they just used voice clips as much as possible. so some episodes are arty with music or no dia, or some episodes M just wont talk :)
i thank this show for making my brain creative as a child...nowdays when i turn on the tv its all 3d digital bs animation with no soul the paper episode btw is underrated,as a kid that one for some reason traumatised me a lot
I swear Hothead always gives me a headache as a kid for some reason. Also, I personally really loved Little Muriel as a kid, and even today, somewhat like, is that normal.
The Nutcracker was ranked a lot higher than I expected. For me that was my least favorite episode because I found it overall boring, but at the same time I thought Ride of the Valkyries was dumb fun so everything balances out. Curtain of Cruelty is also another one I personally didn’t like largely because of Great Value Dr. Zalost. I feel like having a main antagonist as a recolored background character, let alone one that rips off a lot from a much better character, is so egregious for a show oozing with iconic and bizarre villains.
i definitely get some of the sentiment here and i completely agree there are better episodes. i’m not sure why, but ride of the valkyries just really rubbed me the wrong way and was one of the few episodes of the show i feel like was kinda below average but i’m glad that others disagree! either way the show has an episode for almost every type of person it feels like

0:37 I don't understand this rant, the history of how Halloween came to be is pretty straightforward, in fact there's a halloween special about the origins of Halloween. Several of them but only a couple are sincere and not a setup for a noncanon origin story.
Its a shame we never got a depiction of the tall grey aliens in courage, i mean just imagine this gangly and uncanny bugeyed grey. Also my childhood theory is that the land they lived on was the crash site of aliens (ufo still under the land) but also is an indian burial ground that was repurposed by criminals into a makeshift cemetary (explaining the zombie episode) it was also potentially a site of magical resonence which explains some of the mystical stuff. Now we dont actually know how big the middle of nowhere is or if the state they are in is the same size as a state in real life this could explain all the other weird stuff (outside of the space whales and aliens like come on they know what makes a diveres ecosystem and the biggest ecosystem we have is space and all it encompasses). The weirdness in nowhere has been slowly spreading like moss or mold which explains the other stuff that happens when we see them somewhere else and this theory would 100% ruin the scooby meets courage crossover because the thing they find in that could be a chunk of whatever fuel the ufo was running on which would be capable of bending time and space along with potentially causing a spiderweb effect on reality kinda like a crack on your windshield. Idk im sorry this is so long but i was entrance by courage as a kid and i really have put some deep thought into my theories

Imo I really like the way depression is portrayed in the tower of Dr Zalost it feels so real and is one of my favorite cartoon episodes ever

Zalost means sorrow, sadness or mourning in serbian so thats pretty cool especially in the context of Dr Zalost's character

The goose episode for some reason was my moms favorite episode (no clue why) so it holds a special place with me.

Its a shame we never got a depiction of the tall grey aliens in courage, i mean just imagine this gangly and uncanny bugeyed grey.
Also my childhood theory is that the land they lived on was the crash site of aliens (ufo still under the land) but also is an indian burial ground that was repurposed by criminals into a makeshift cemetary (explaining the zombie episode) it was also potentially a site of magical resonence which explains some of the mystical stuff.
Now we dont actually know how big the middle of nowhere is or if the state they are in is the same size as a state in real life this could explain all the other weird stuff (outside of the space whales and aliens like come on they know what makes a diveres ecosystem and the biggest ecosystem we have is space and all it encompasses).
The weirdness in nowhere has been slowly spreading like moss or mold which explains the other stuff that happens when we see them somewhere else and this theory would 100% ruin the scooby meets courage crossover because the thing they find in that could be a chunk of whatever fuel the ufo was running on which would be capable of bending time and space along with potentially causing a spiderweb effect on reality kinda like a crack on your windshield. Idk im sorry this is so long but i was entrance by courage as a kid and i really have put some deep thought into my theories
