HOW TO MAKE SESAME BALLS | 3 DIFFERENT FLAVORS

- Sesame balls are an addicting snack that's not hard to make. It's outer shell is packed with crispy, fragrant sesame seeds and the inside is hollow, glutinous, and chewy, with a delicious filling. I show you 3 different flavors, taro, savory pork, and the the classic mung bean flavor. This is a popular snack eaten across many different Asian countries, each having their own twists and takes on it. While the mung bean flavor is the most common one that you will find, I show you my take on an additional 2 fillings, the savory pork being my favorite of these 3. There are some helpful tips and I show you the technique to make them in this video. I hope you enjoy it.

There are many different fillings for this sesame ball snack. The most classic flavor is the mung bean one, which is found abundantly. You can definitely get creative with the fillings. Just think, what will taste good with coconut milk (since it is in the dough)? Which is your favorite filling or what kind of filling would you create? Take care everyone 🙏
Oishi hhh.i need to improve my sesame balls.very surprising.wl demonstratd.thnx much mr. COOKING GURU
Honestly, the only kind I’ve ever had is the kind with the red bean filling. I ate it at a local restaurant in my town. I love them! 🤤
The aesthetics and editing is absolutely incredible. I love seseame balls, perhaps addicted to them. Never made them at home yet but will try out the recipes when I'm home. Keep up the incredible work
I like your nonstick pan!
Beautifully made video! I love sesame balls, so I’m going to make ask three of these. The pork filling surprised me, as I’ve never seen that before, but it sounds yummy. The pork filling sounds like it would also be great to eat by itself or on salad like Larb, which is my favorite dish of all time.
They become so uniform and perfectly round..but how?...
Its like David to say that-- he recognizes excellence, he strikes me as a perfectionist too.
It's the way they expand in the oil during the frying process that gives them this nice round shape. Thank you Anna 🙏 Have a great day and evening 😊
That looks amazing.

?? Thanks Ryan 😂
@@ThunThunChannel Not sure if you remember, but a lot of us (including me) found your channel because David Pakman shouted you out and asked us all to come check out your channel. Pakman will say that someone has "upper management written all over" them when he wants to compliment you because he sees you on the way up in your career. Your channel is one of the best suggestions he's ever made imo. 😊

PS, I think it takes a loooot of time to prepare...
Thank you Nin! 🙏 I used to eat this a lot when I was a child. It tastes good when making it at home because you can control the ingredients and the kind of filling you like. It does takes some time but it's not hard to make 😊 Thank you so much for stopping by 🙏😁

Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the church music. You got the recipe on a lock down. The taro and the mung bean crispy balls go well with condensed milk as a syrup, but that’s how i like mine.
Thank you so much for watching. I bet it tastes delicious with condensed milk
Geweldig clear
I really love your video... The music was great too 😊
Thank you for stopping by 🙏 It was a fun video to make. I post every Saturday at 9am EST
Looookks soo yummmy!!!!!!
Thank you! I love them 😋
My mom's fav! 😍❤❤❤
One of my favorites too 😁
OMG!! I am so making it today. I love this snack and usually, I have to drive 250 miles roundtrips to buy them - most of the times, they are old and stale. I live too far from Asian community or Asian markets. There's a small Asian grocery here that I can get a few things I need, though I can say that I have more in my pantry than this little market.
Wow that's a far drive! It's also cheaper to make them at home and can make a big batch too. They taste better homemade. I hope you enjoy them!
@@ThunThunChannel, yeah, 125 miles one way. I live in the country.
I'm going to make this with taro filling looks yummy 😊😊
I think you'll enjoy it! You can also get creative with the fillings 🙏 Thank you
This looks yummy. Wish there was an asian market close to me. Closest one is 2 hours away. I have to make my own rice flour. I've tteokbokki from scratch. It was so good.
Thank you so much! Wow, making rice flour from scratch must be so difficult. Have you tried ordering from Amazon? I'm sure the website carries a lot of these ingredients. I love tteobokki too!
Bánh cam/rán nhân ngọt và mặn!!!
I enjoy watching your videos. Btw where did you get the blender and what brand?
Thank you Rosany. It's the Ninja QB1004 Blender/Food Processor. You can get it at Walmart or Amazon.
OMG so yummy🤤 I subscribed to the channel.
❤️🙏
Love so much your video,I’m original Asian but never know how to make them .I have a question ,can I make and freeze them.
I think you can. I've never tried before. Fry them from frozen. Just be careful of any splattering oil.
So delicious and beautiful
Love this so much! Can you let me know where you got your wok from? 😍
Thank you! I got this wok from my local Asian grocery store. The brand is Myland
Looks perfectly delicious 😋And it's sooooo relaxing and calm watching your video. Sawadee from Pam naka 😊
สวัสดีครับ ขอบคุณครับ🙏 Hello and thank you. I really enjoyed making this video. Thank you for watching na krub 🙏
What camera do you use?
Where did you buy your pan you cooked the mung beans in from? I've been looking for one like that.
I bought it from my local Asian grocery store. The brand is called Myland. Thank you
I'm definitely going to make these!! Could I swap the pork for veggie-based "meat"?
Yay! I hope you enjoy them. Yes you can swap out for veggie based meat. You can do all sorts of fillings and get creative. I've also seen sweet potato, peanut butter, Nutella too.
Can I make these ahead and freeze them! Will they explode during frying?
I love sesame balls with red beans filling. Oh by the way, can you please add the link to buy the deep fry pan. I really like the one in this video and I can’t seem to find it on Amazon. Thank you!
I bought this from a small Chinese grocery store many many years ago and I don't think it's around anymore. The wok didn't have any branding on it and was sold as it was.
Do you have a recipe for candied ash gourd ? In the Philippines, we have a sweet pastry, an off shoot of mooncakes called hopya except its molded by hand with different fillings . One is mung beans with caramelized onions or half fried green onions but my favorite filling is mung bean paste ord red ben paste mixed with green or caramelized onions and chopped candied ash gourd (kundol) giving it a crunchy texture. AMAZON sells it at a shockingly high price.
Can the dough be refrigerated overnight?
I’m making these for a party. Can I make them a day ahead and then reheat? How? Thank you.
It's best to make them the same day. If you wanted to make them in advance, you can possibly freeze the sesame balls raw and fry them the day of serving. Space them out on a baking sheet so they don't stick, when freezing them. Try frying a couple after freshly making them to taste how great they are fresh though 😊 Thank you
hello
How many grammes is your cup?
Approximately how many does this recipe make?
Hi, this can make about 20 depending on the size you make them. It could make more if you make each smaller.
Lol 😂My mung bean is taking forever. Looks like mashed potatoes only. 😅
Yes, the process to thicken them definitely takes a while.
I hope you got it eventually 😆
Does anyone here know if we can freeze these?
I've never tried freezing them but I think it's worth a try. Freeze and then fry frozen when you're ready to eat.
Hi Thun Thun, thank you for showing your recipe. I have a question, have you experience the sesame ball collapsing after it cools?
*I'll try your recipe & let u know my result.

Beautiful vid, you weirdo. LMFLM
Thank you 😁 🙏
This recipe sounds very good and appreciate your clear instructions but the only thing is the recipe is too big for small family. I wish it's done in at least half of the amount of this recipe or a bit less. Thank you anyway.
Thank you, you can also half the recipe for a smaller batch.
