Thanks for describing the 4wd fix. Mine was exactly the same issue. Saved me a lot of time.

Can't believe it took a year for this video to show up. I broke my ankle moving cows last Nov. and my quads quit working until 4 weeks ago so didn't use the 750 for snow this winter. Ran it once in Dec to pull several T post out. Thanks for this video showing the head off and I think a different video showed the 4 wd shifter set up. Notice on the head you can see the Precombustion Chamber which is why you can't use Starting Fluid on this motor which has nothing to do with weak rods or any other theory. The dealer easily may have blown the head gasket or maybe previous owner because neither knew how to start it right. I did get my Thermo-Start System fixed and working fine. I installed the Block Heater and use that instead. 400 watts and in 3-4 hrs the block, intake and injectors are nicely warm which is better for engine. It starts like mid summer. Thanks for the video.

Very helpful - nice to see it apart. Wondering what you had to drain to pull that - the whole hydraulic system, or is it kind of isolated to a small amount.

Most mechanics will tell you to never use starting fluid on a diesel. We had a Case 580 at our mill and people would use it for a quick start in the winter. Starting fluid = stretched head bolts = blown head gasket.

There has nothing to do with replacing ahead on A755 John Deere

How did you slide the front drive axel back in?

The reason why you don't either this motor is because the connecting rods will bend under predetnation or firing before top dead center their pretty flimsy rods. Also good luck there aren't any new ones mine came from a junkyard.

Great video, I just bought and got my JD 750 home today. 4by4 no front end loader. Paid 4,500 for it with a bush hog. Hope it's a good one. I don't have the Manuel for it, fluids should be, oil, trans and hydraulic are they the same? Radiator fluid. Am I missing something? Tomorrow I'm going to go through it the best I can. Any advice? Thanks

Thanks! Congrats on your purchase, these are great little tractors. I wish I had better luck with this one, but from what I've heard my situation seems to be unique. I believe the manuals are still available online, but they are not cheap. From what I remember, yes it's a common sump, trans and hydraulic fluid are the same. I used traveller universal trans/hydraulic fluid from tractor supply here in Wisconsin. There is a hydraulic fluid screen that can be accessed from under the tractor, you should clean this while you have the fluid drained. When it clogs it can cause issues with the 3 point. Other than that, just be gentle when engaging and disengaging the 4wd and dont use other to start it! Lol good luck with it and if you come up with any questions I'd be happy to try and answer them for you.

Congrats on finding a 750 and hopefully it is a good one. The hydraulic and transmission oil is together and checked by the dipstick by shifter. It does fluctuate and I find it's best to shut tractor off when I'm done then check it. Don't check it running as gears are spinning. If there's no leaks it stays constant. It holds 15 qts. I changed all the fluids and suggest waiting till warmer weather so it drains completely. I bought J.D. 5 gal. bucket which isn't much more than TSC and you know it's right. If yours never had a loader and P.S. you won't have a filter near brake pedals but there is a screen to clean. You should use antifreeze for Diesels, install Block Heater and Thermostat as I did. Front axle has 3 drain plugs and I put Vavoline 80/90 in. 6.9 qts. Pull the air hose off intake manifold turn key counter clockwise for 15 seconds and you should hear a puff and have a flame inside intake. That's the Thermo- Start System. If you plan to keep it you should get the owners manual. Also you can get a perfect copy of the John Deere Parts and Service manuals from peacfulcreek.com. Great people. Great tractor. Don't abuse, don't grind gears, take your time and it will last a long time. Don't use Starting Fluid.
