I literally kissed raja sir on mobile, when he replied to the question "Define ilayaraja". When he accepts what he is, he becomes a child. Who wouldn't love a child? What would i do if my daughter says " I couldn't help, i did it"? I felt the same way when he answered the question. You are like the rain, a natural element. Whenever i want to, i can get drenched and so are many others. You are the first person whom i addressed Sir, so righteous to call you as Sir.

We all know that Sri Ilayaraja's music is beautiful. Now we see that his smile is just as beautiful. Sir, can we please see more of this side of you during interviews? This interview is fascinating in many ways. First, the exquisite detail and the effortless ease with which he describes the song-making process. Second, the open acknowledgement that he may be making others uncomfortable, but more importantly, the courage to admit that he is unable to control that. Third, how awesome it is to see him in such a pleasant frame of mind. Kudos to the interviewers for the kind of questions that brought out the beauty in the person of the Maestro! 👏👏👏

THE BEST in this series so far! You got some NEWS out of him. OMG! IR composed Mani Ratnam's "Unaru" for FREE? I knew he composed "Pallavi Anupallavi" (Kannada) for 1/5th of his usual salary. Such a GENUINE person who does NOT sugar-coat his words or manipulates them to get applause from the audience. Hats off, MAESTRO.
@ATTITUDE There are many online treasure sites about IR and his music. I don't want to add yet another one. But I'd love to do it some day.
And how he says at the end he is embarrassed to mention names. I don't know why people don't understand him. and when he talks about his biggest flaws (I consider still he can say anything he wants given what he has achieved) shows his humility. Now get one other so called legends to openly admit their biggest flaws....

What did we learn ? Only certain people can interview Mr. Raja and I believe these two have done a great job. Kudos to this duo. He is a simpleton with a wide breadth of knowledge. The moral is, while interviewing Mr.Raja, we need to engage simple people who understand music and who want to actually learn from him. In this episode, I think the duo sincerely wanted to learn from him, hence he opened up.
I wish people learn to interview him, it is a must, if we don't learn that technique then his expertise may not be explored to benefit next generations.
