yeah sure why not? 49:43 don't mind people around the world having troubles of their own we got the wedding for our main characters totally worth it on there thing
To be fair, aren't the Fantastic Four in the comics more like "super explorers" more than Superheroes? They help whenever they can and stop some villains, but they are among the most "passive" heroes there are. Compare them to the likes of Spider-Man who constantly patrols the city in search of crime, the F4 most of them just chill.
Exactly. Speaking as a genuine fan of the comics... yeah, that's pretty accurate. I'll admit they do still bum around their apartment a bit too much for me to call the 2005 film ACCURATE, but yeah saying 'why don't they fight crime' is really the wrong attitude They're more suited for cosmic-level threats, like Annihilus or the Inhumans or just a strange science thing like a black hole appearing above New York. They're way more explorers and rescuers than actual superheroes, which is kind of why I like them so much.
Yeah, a lot of the times they get involved in fights, It's because the threat is big enough that they have to step in and help, or the person behind the attack is attacking them specifically.
The fantastic 4 share more dna with dr who and lost in space than heroes like superman. A good FF story asks the question "where or when are we going next and what new thing are we gonna find out there". Its scifi with heavy familial themes and slice of life. The A story is finding a hidden futuristic city in Africa, Atlantis, sentient planet, extradimensional bug dictators, litteral gods and the B plot is Johnny Storm getting over a cold (not a real story but you get the idea)
@@Marvelfanatic3658 There's actually a fourth movie that was made back in 1994, here's the link to the full movie, th-cam.com/video/eN0FoR_FlZg/w-d-xo.html
Yeah, the fact that the Fantastic Four don't go around fighting crime is actually pretty accurate to the comics, as far as I can remember. A lot of their stories come from encounters they have while they're exploring space, other Universes, parallel dimensions, and alternate realities. Most of the time they get into fights on Earth it's due to either people directly coming after them, usually villains like Doctor Doom, or from world ending threats they can't ignore, like Galactus. They're probably the most reactionary super heroes in comic history. At least out of the ones I can think of.
And that would be fine if... you know, they lived in an universe where superheroes who fight crime exist. Cinematic universes, when done right, save a whole buttload on. exposition.
The things I have seen when in New York City that should cause people to actually have a reaction but don’t (and if you react, you’re considered the weird one) is kind of amazing.

The first two F4 films are guilty pleasures of mine. They were lighthearted flicks that looked at a different aspect of superheroes. I like that it addresses more mundane issues that we never see in other films, like dealing with celebrity or merchandising toy figures, etc. It actually sets it apart from most comic book films. I think they're a lot of fun, especially next to the joyless , charisma-sucking Josh Trank film. I do have one question though: Who the freck is Galactigus?
@@Fingerling2012 I know. I'm having a go at the Nostalgia Critic, who apparently doesn't even know that it's pronounced Galactus - he consistently calls it Galactigus.
Believe me, I want to like those movies. Nowadays I really miss the lighthearted style of the 1990's and early 2000's. But those F4 films are sooooooo incredibly lame and stoopid. It's very hard to ignore and overshadows the whole experience for me. Greetings from Germany :)
Chris Evans has been thinking about coming back as a Human Torch. If they did they most likely do a running joke where he says that some people say that I look like Cap, and then others respond saying they don’t see it.
My big beef is that they clearly only roped Jessica Alba in for star-power, and not because she was even age-appropriate to play Sue. In the comics, she was always the Team Mom, while Jessica isn't even at Cool Aunt age yet.
When it comes for superpowers, Malcolm clearly is the superior being.... If he feels lonely, he can summon Lara Croft.....Correction: He can summon SEVERAL Lara Crofts..... That's 15/10 in my books.....
For some reason, i have a particular liking to Michael Chiklis' version of The Thing ever since i was a kid. I just find him cool. Hey, The Thing is going to be CGI in the MCU anyway, so call him to voice Ben like how Lou Ferrigno voiced Hulk in early movies.
Yeah, and the most impressive thing about Chiklis' Ben Grim is that the voice was all him, no voice filters or anything. The guy can make his voice go so deep it actually sounds like it's coming from a guy whose throat is made of literal rocks.
I would actually like to see Nostalgia Critic review the unreleased Roger Corman movie one day. Yes, it's cheap and corny, but you can tell that the people who made it actually liked the Fantastic Four, which is more than these Fantastic F*cks can say
You know, being reminded of how Galactus looked in this, and thinking of Arishem in Eternals, I'd actually LOVE to see what Marvel would do if they remade this movie. I want to see how they'd make Galactus look now. Because these days, they aren't afraid (and have the budget, usually) to create giant beings whose size are fucking terrifying to think about
As long as Galactus looks ONE IOTA LIKE HIS COMIC BOOK SELF, and not like some stupid fart-cloud of tentacles, Disney will have won the war. That is literally how low that Fox Studios set the bar on FF4!!
@@orangeslash1667 For the longest time, they didn't seem to understand how to truly make superhero movies. Then the MCU came along, and they seemed to wise up a bit. Some of their newest stuff is still pretty mediocre, but all of the best stuff has pretty much come AFTER "X-Men: First Class."
Ya know. I feel bad for Ben. All versions of him. Mainly cuz he's doomed to never have a normal relationship and a family of his own. It's honest really sad for the poor guy. He even skipped his wedding because he knew that if he married, his wife would be hunted. A brave sacrifice for him at the cost of his heart. What's sadder is that Reed is one of the smartest men on earth (alongside Xavier, Stark, and Hank Pym), yet in the comics he always focuses on his inventions, and even when he does find a cure for Ben, he guilt trips him back into the Thing. What I'm saying is. Thing aka Ben Grimm, is a tragic hero who may never find love, but is ok with that even if he knows that he will never be able to have his own family
Fantastic Four 2015 was not Josh Trank's fault,he was under a lot of pressure by Fox, and the studio was making rough cuts to the film as well. He went to Twitter by typing in that he made a "140 minute cut of the movie but Fox removed 33 minutes of footage, and knew this version will never see the light of day. Oh, well. That's reality for you." He vowed that he will never direct another superhero movie ever again. Kate Mara stated how disgusted she was on how Trank was treating her on set and threatened to have her fired. Trank was yelling at the cast and crew for not doing a good job in any of the scenes. Bad production issues and behind the scenes drama is the cause of the sequel to Fantastic Four getting cancelled.
Even if FOX had done a loyal interpretation of the Fantastic Four, it would have ended up looking like a low-rent version of the Avengers. The fact of the matter is that the Fantastic Four are so foundational to the Marvel Universe that any continuity where they are divorced from the main Marvel Universe is just a crime. X-Men avoided writing itself into a corner for years because they had hundreds of characters and the concept of mutanthood to deal with. Fantastic Four doesn’t have this luxury.
@@ryanangelastro504 The Marvel Universe works just fine without the Fantastic Four. The MCU is proof of that. But the Fantastic Four don't work without the larger Marvel universe.
The Fantastic Four movies have been one of my favorite franchises that you've reviewed. I can't wait for you to review the MCU's take on Fantastic Four when it comes out.
Same, I actually have a soft spot on the first two F4 movies. Yeah sure, they aren't all that great, but they also aren't all that bad either (If you compare them to the 2015 reboot version),i always thought they were just as okay and good as the first two X-Men movies and it has some scenes that i actually liked, enjoy and made me laugh sometimes, they're basically one of those movies that are so bad they guilty pleasurable at best, despite their flaws.
I started watching and my first thought was "I've already seen this" then I noticed it was a compilation. This is what happens when I click your notifications without even thinking LOL (Thank you for all your content ^^)
The character named victor von doom is not really a problem. That’s the character name in the comics and he’s a fan favorite. It’s one of the few things the movies gets right, at least for the name.
Well we will see them again when the next movie comes out… or if they ever review any of the animated series. Also doing something would go against their strongly established character canon lol 😂
The most memorable moments of the FF literally have nothing to do with action, fighting, or doing some crazy feat of strength. They usually involve Mr. Fantastic and Dr. Doom monologuing about how the world is shit and whoever is speaking at that moment is the one who has the best idea as to how to save it. I'm actually very serious about that. - Dr. Doom has insane plan - Reed Richards finds out about it - Both of them have a conversation while Sue Storm sits in the background (usually invisible) waiting for her moment - Ben is somewhere fighting the Hulk or some other meme worthy thing while yelling his singular catch phrase - Johnny Storm is having a bromance with Peter Parker as they make jokes about uncles getting robbed by muggers. (Real thing that happened) - Monologue finally ends, Sue Storm does "something" and Dr. Doom is defeated while Reed looks "victorious" and says something that "outsmarts" Dr. Doom - Then Disney gets pissed Fox has the rights and sends them all into a portal never to be seen again until they got the rights back. Now rinse and repeat this and you have the essence of what Fanfourstic are. Don't get me wrong, I love the FF, but it does get pretty formulaic at times. Oh and insert some multiversal thing with another Reed Richards who's a total dick, oh and Dr. Doom "bum bum buh!" is god or something.
It was a time ago since that first F4 review and I'm still mad that Rob didn't just become a Dinosaur again. It would've fit so well with The Thing as being the fourth member turned into a monstrosity. Not to mention a dry delivery of "... I'm a Dinosaur." would've hit like a ton of bricks.
Doom is not such a bad name. He is called Victor von Doom doesn't that mean something like: winner/conqueror of doom? For a guy who is trying to help/save humanity it seems fitting. Also, I am DOOM! sounds better than i am SMITH!
MCU Fantastic Four needs to be a show stopper. Their powers might have been done in other mediums but it's their dynamics and character that made them as popular as spiderman and the xmen comics. If they do it right they can be the true beginning of marvels new saga.
It’s funny you mention Spider-Man, because Jon Watts, the director of the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies is on board to direct this new Fantastic Four movie. Edit: I just found out that Watts has been replaced by Matt Shakman, the director of WandaVision as the director. I doubt anyone could have predicted that, but hopefully the third time really is the charm.
Thanks for showing us the entire fantastic four movie reviews Plus we also get to see the entire trilogy of the adequately impressive three and how absolutely hilarious it is I love it ❤️
To play devil's advocate here a bit, it's possible that taking the spaceship to the storm is how they were able to gather the necessary information to recreate the storm. Granted if that's the case it was poorly executed and not at all explained but hey, what's another mistake in the already endless list of screw ups this movie's got?
Rise of the Silver Surfer was the second superhero movie I ever saw in theaters growing up (first being Spider-man 3), so I’ll always look back on it as a good movie, as a kid in the 2000s I thought it was the coolest thing ever, and then Iron Man came out
Remember when Fant4stic announced they'd be changing Doom's name to "Victor Domashev", and had to change it back because of the backlash? I'm kind of of two minds about it. On the one hand I guess it's good that they at least kept the names intact, even if his is pretty silly. But on the other hand, tonally a character with a name like "Von Doom" seems really out of place in such a painfully serious movie. So more than anything else, this just highlights how they were aiming for the completely wrong tone with that movie.
Right; 11:43 why did the board pull out when they discovered they just found a way to gain superpowers? Like wow; no way for them to try and capitalize on the powers
39:17 Borg of Tesla. Honestly, they had the right look for the characters with Chris Evans, Jessica Teeth Alba and Horatio Hornblower, they just needed a better writer. Imagine if they had handed the 90s Captain America script to Christ Evans, we wouldn't know who he was today.
My biggest problem with these movies isn't so much to Fantastic 4 as it is Doctor Doom. I'm not the biggest expert on the Fantastic Four since I don't read Comics that often but from what I do know Doctor Doom is a man who combines magic with science and believes that the only way to save the world from impending doom (Yes that pun was intended.) is if he ruled it. That makes him an interesting character because it puts him in a morally gray area. And then most of his more evil actions is mostly Center on the Fantastic Four because he has a deep-seated hatred for Reed. Here he's just evil. And while I do think the critic does nag on his name being Doom way too much because that is the name of the character in the comics, the films does go over the board in trying to make him evil and want to conquer and or destroy the world.
Without even having to compare it to Josh Trank's 2015 reboot of the Fantastic Four, I thought this movie was quite well made, especially in terms of the CGI, special effects, music and faithfulness to the source material made by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Silver Surfer's character development really saves the movie. When he first shows up, he causes a lot of trouble for the Earth by creating craters and knocking out electrical infrastructures. I'm thinking he did all this either to get Galactus's attention sending the message he found another planet with ORGANIC energy for him to eat and/or is creating holes upon the earth so that Galactus can sink his teeth in without problems. It also turns out that Silver Surfer is doing all these things out of fatalism and the belief or ideology that he's been enslaved to Galactus rather than fanaticism or hatred towards humanity. Then the Fantastic Four (or at least Sue) convince Surfer to save the day not with her super powers, but with her super compassion and kindness. And so, being touched by what he learned from Sue, Silver Surfer decides he does have the choice to mutiny and wipes out Galactus and saves the Earth, even at the cost of his own life believing he'll die if he tries to wipe out Galactus with his own surfboard power. But then we see that he did survive his own blast to kill Galactus and now he can go home free. But because of how the writers chose to make Silver Surfer the only dynamic character willing to become a much different person as a result of the plot, The Thing, Mr. Fantastic and Human Torch all really have no important role in this movie other than to provide dialogue.
I actually liked the cast in the first two F4 films. Even though i always consider Chris Evans as Captain America more,he makes a pretty cool and funny Human Touch.
You know what I’ve noticed? In theses movies Ben always references something when he says “it’s clobbering time” but for Johnny, he just SAYS flame on.
The best adaptation of the Fantastic Four for me is perhaps the 1994 cartoon. Even when it's unintentionally hilarious and melodramatic, it got me interested in the F4. That show introduced me to the Puppet Master, Doctor Doom, the Inhumans, the Hulk, and lots more characters. It even had a cool episode involving the Black Panther, voiced by none other than Keith David. When I saw the trailers and promo material for the films, I just didn't find them interesting or good. Not even when i finally saw scenes from the actual films. The sad thing about the first two films is that Mr. Fantastic was played by Ioan Gruffudd, who played Horatio Hornblower in the made for TV film series Hornblower, which was a really good series. When I saw him in the F4 films, it felt like his talent was wasted. (Though to be fair, he was also in 102 Dalmatians, which was even worse than his F4 films). The other actors also felt wasted in what could've been better. The 2000s, particularly the period between 2004-2007, was a weird time for films. On one hand, there were still really good films that came out which took audiences by surprise, and helped define that era of filmmaking. At the other hand, there were also big budget action films that, despite some good scenes, were so badly written and so badly executed, you wonder what the studio heads were thinking (or what they were not thinking). Superhero films around that time also suffered from unfocused development and weird creative choices. The Spiderman and X-Men films had mostly good qualities, and even they went off into strange tangents which still don't make sense to me. I had not seen the Blade films, but they also seem to be unfocused based of NG's reviews. Superman Returns and Constantine also made their own share of odd choices, despite some parts I liked. I love Batman Begins, even though I agree with criticisms that it could've been better. It wasn't until Iron Man and The Dark Knight that filmmakers tried to up the ante on superhero films. Both films managed to get audiences to view superhero films in a new light in different ways: Iron Man with its sardonic wisecracking humor, and Dark Knight with it's operatic crime thriller feel. It wasn't until The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy that Marvel films upped the ante even further in terms of combining action, drama, and comedy, The current Marvel films (though not all) proved that you can make a film serious, hilarious, and compelling all at once with the right writing, actors, directors, and execution. It's only a matter of time till F4 gets adapted into the MCU. The F4 comics already have elements needed for a good film: it just needs the right writers, director, and cast to make it work... Though it would also be interesting if they somehow referenced Mr. Fantastic defeating Magneto with a wooden gun from the 70s F4 cartoons.
If I was doing a Fantastic Four movie I’d probably make it a period piece set in the 1960s where the team are a family of explorers rather than superheroes who are accompanied by a prototype robot named Herbie and they fight villain who is NOT Doctor Doom but he’ll show up eventually. Also the team helps out occasionally when needed and they travel around in a flying vehicle called the Fantasticar
Funny story, I had a broken TV on a flight to Italy where I couldn’t change the channel and there was no audio, so all I had for entertainment was Fantastic Four 2005 on repeat with no sound.
You know, despite all the issues with Rise of the Silver Surfer, at least it was a bit better than the first and despite looking a bit dumb, Doom looked pretty close to comic accurate. That, and it wasn't Fant4stic. There's always that.
I don't need there to be a huge amount of action in a superhero movie; I don't care if there's very little actual crimefighting. But they should still be doing interesting stuff with their powers in a movie like this. xD
All they do is hang around in the first movie though. The only character with actual character development in the non action scenes is Ben Grimm/The Thing. Every other FF member doesn’t go through real character development with their powers.
Victor Von Doom was his name in the comics that's why it's his name in all the Fantastic 4 movies and shows and what's a Fantastic 4 movie without Doctor Doom I mean c'mon.
Her power being tied to emotion would be fine if she showed any. Would have been better if they made her a little more frazzled, a little more reactive, someone who is, y'know, emotional xD
Well Dr. dooms name in the comic is also Victor Von doom And he actually isn’t a villain whenever he was with reed Richards he was actually his best friend in college it’s just the hard life he’s had with his mother being put in hell and his father being eaten by mountain lions and he’s eventual scarring because of the thing that forces Victor to become Dr. doom
Yeah, these movies are by no means fantastic beyond their names, but they at least are accurate in the sense that the Fantastic Four don't just go around stopping random street crimes. Most of their adventures come from them exploring other planes of existence. A lot of the time they help people it's pretty similar to what happened to the ferris wheel in Sliver Surfer, and most of their fights come from either people attacking them specifically, or world ending threats like Galactus showing up to put humanity on the endangered species list. You will never see Human Torch stopping a purse snatcher unless said purse snatching occurs while he's hanging out with Spider-Man or something like that. Outside of that, they spend most of their time hanging out with each other in the Baxter Building. Same thing goes for Iron Man too, except without the family. I don't see HIM stopping armed thugs from hitting a bank, unless they got a hold of old Stark weapons or something like that. Come to think of it, you can also say the same for most of the X-Men, The Hulk, and a couple of others. Like, they'll still stop crimes in progress if they're right there, but there's plenty of Marvel heroes that don't actually patrol the city to stop crime.
I remember hearing how Fan4stic was originally made as like, a horror movie or a thriller version of the Fantastic Four while being able to use the actual property, but the studios didn't like that and forced the reshoots and reworking the movie to become the mess we see now. Honestly it's hard to tell whose fault it really is because the director had an idea, but I hear he was a mess on set, the studios and higher ups were actively going against what he was trying to do, it's just a mess that they spit out into theaters to get it over with.
I’m sorry, but l think the Silver Surfer is quite impressive. So what if he’s played by Doug Jones with the voice of Laurence Fishburne? The filmmakers did a good job bringing him to cinematic life.
Not counting the 2015 version, there was a time when I actually liked these movies, like I use to watch them at least once or twice a week, maybe more, I can't really remember. But as time went on like when the MCU came about, I started to watch these movie a lot less and realise what is wrong with them. I don't really hate then, but they are no Iron Man or Guardians of the Galaxy.
I saw that first one in the theater twice, thought it was a lot of fun. Even if they're not doing superhero things most of the time and there's a lot to pick apart, the actors mix together well and as a movie this grabs me more than, say, Thor Dark World. The Silver Surfer one was...just silly. I never saw Fan4stic but I've seen enough videos on youtube to know I don't need to.
What's sad to me is Julian McMahon (the guy who plays Dr. Doom) is an awesome actor and could make a kick ass villain. I first saw him in Nip/Tuck where he plays more of a Tony Stark personality - but less moral. That show was great with psychological horror and McMahon was perfect in that role. I 100% believe he could make a fantastic antagonist if utilized better

I'm pretty sure others have mentioned it once or twice, but the Fantastic Four *aren't* generally crime fighters. And I do think they've been "heroes" on more than one occasion to fix something they (or, more often than not, Reed Richards) either directly or indirectly caused. It's kinda their thing.
Doug should make his own board game, with a stack of cards with movies from 2018 and below, with movies on them with the title screen of the movie on the card, then every one picks a card at random and they rate the movie out of 5 stars, then write on a piece of paper, (comes with the board game) about what they think is bad about it, and after 3-5 rounds of this, either the person that pointed out the most things wrong with the movie, or whoever has the overall best or worst movie (according to the other contestants) wins!
It was either Victor Von Doom, Otto Von Doom, or Victor Van Damme, they have to use the comic accurate name so it was gonna be ridiculous no matter what
When I was a little kid I remember falling in love with human torch and doctor doom but little did my little brain know was that The Human Torch would one day play Captain America, One of Ramona's evil exes, and now Buzz Lightyear. Seriously though Chris Evans human torch needs to meet captain America in the next multiverse mcu movie.
I would just like to note that being able to turn anything into a video game character, assuming you get to choose what character it is, is an insanely powerful ability that could actually solo most of DC and Marvel considering what franchises have Video games these days.
I enjoyed the first movie. After that it went downhill for me. I used to be a big fan of the Fantastic Four comics, they were one of my favorite supergroups. Unfortunately, a lot of these movies are made so the studio can keep the license as opposed to actually wanting to make a great movie.
The fantastic 4 movie should be more like a superpower road trip. Exploring relationships with the family and have occasional mundane problems with this super-powered family
I liked the first fantastic four film but as for the second, not even Freddie Mercury could save it. Who else thinks in fantastic four 2 that if the person stopping them from leaving was male any of them (I mean Sue) would've immediately knocked them out in a humiliating and humourous way.
45:25 when Rob starts shouting, he's starting to sound a lot like Doug without being exaggerated. Guess being brothers make them a lot more alike than I realize.
Doctor Doom: he's not cool because he's vaguely metallic. He's cool because he's the most over-the-top villain on earth, the most egocentric, has an army of identical robots, has both science AND magic powers (so can't be defeated by not having one or the other on his side), and is in charge of an entire country. If any movie remembered that, it would be the greatest superhero movie of all time. (And yes, Ultimate Doctor Doom is made of metal. But he's also still an egocentric cybernetics supergenius with a proud noble lineage who attempts to become his own dictator. Even if it's only dictator of a tent city of hippies in Copenhagen. It still felt like him. Having him just be a shambling monster guy or a rich jerk is the saddest waste.)

I do have one question though: Who the freck is Galactigus?
Its pronounced Galactus, he's a giant cosmic entity in the marvel comics who has to sustain his life force by consuming planets
@@Fingerling2012 I know. I'm having a go at the Nostalgia Critic, who apparently doesn't even know that it's pronounced Galactus - he consistently calls it Galactigus.
Amen, same here.
Believe me, I want to like those movies. Nowadays I really miss the lighthearted style of the 1990's and early 2000's. But those F4 films are sooooooo incredibly lame and stoopid. It's very hard to ignore and overshadows the whole experience for me.
Greetings from Germany :)
Galactus is a powerful entity with feeds on universes to survive, he's the arch enemy of Silver Surfer & a part-time villain of the Fantastic Four.

Chris Evans has been thinking about coming back as a Human Torch. If they did they most likely do a running joke where he says that some people say that I look like Cap, and then others respond saying they don’t see it.
That'd be hilarious, I'd imagine they'd just have lots of people tell him he looks like cap, but I think your version is better
Peter Parker: "You know what, you remind me of someone"
Johnny: "Yeah I know I get that a lot-"
Peter: "Chris Evans"
Johnny: "What"
Heck, they can make so that he’s a variant from another universe
It’s an achievement in the first Lego Marvel Superheroes if you have the two on screen characters set as Human Torch and Captain America.
Since The Sacred Timeline got screwed up by Loki, it seems pretty likely to happen.
My big beef is that they clearly only roped Jessica Alba in for star-power, and not because she was even age-appropriate to play Sue. In the comics, she was always the Team Mom, while Jessica isn't even at Cool Aunt age yet.

Nothin against Ruffalo, but I miss Lou.

Didn’t he marry Alicia in a recent issue?
What about Mangaverse Ben? From what I read, he can freely change between his normal look and his rock form.
Even Jimmy Neutrons parody explained there powers better! By having their power correlate with what they were doing at the time of exposure.
And unlike these movies, they have interesting fight scenes.

@@js5869 True there. Unless Kevin Feige, Marvel, and Disney forces them too LOL.
3:30 - Not only is his surname Von Doom, his first name is Victor. So his full name literally translates to... 'Winner of Doom'.
That just SCREAMS evil.
- Dr. Doom has insane plan
- Reed Richards finds out about it
- Both of them have a conversation while Sue Storm sits in the background (usually invisible) waiting for her moment
- Ben is somewhere fighting the Hulk or some other meme worthy thing while yelling his singular catch phrase
- Johnny Storm is having a bromance with Peter Parker as they make jokes about uncles getting robbed by muggers. (Real thing that happened)
- Monologue finally ends, Sue Storm does "something" and Dr. Doom is defeated while Reed looks "victorious" and says something that "outsmarts" Dr. Doom
- Then Disney gets pissed Fox has the rights and sends them all into a portal never to be seen again until they got the rights back.

Thank goodness both Human Torches were brought over to the MCU as different characters.
And both of them fought Black Panther.

Funny how Critic joked about the 2004's casting, but they're still the best cast FF. Ioan Gruffudd is miles better than Krasinski in my opinion.
I actually liked the cast in the first two F4 films.
Even though i always consider Chris Evans as Captain America more,he makes a pretty cool and funny Human Touch.
There's only been like 2 Fantastic Four teams, so that's not saying much.
You know what I’ve noticed? In theses movies Ben always references something when he says “it’s clobbering time” but for Johnny, he just SAYS flame on.
The Samwise/Frodo parody skit is one of my favorite bits from this channel. 🖤 Nostalgia Critic is such great content! Keep it up. 🥰
It was really cool to see Chris Evans in Deadpool & Wolverine
Also the team helps out occasionally when needed and they travel around in a flying vehicle called the Fantasticar
...guess whattt
I wish he reviewed the Fantastic 4 movie from 1994. Fun fact: I was born in 1994.

The director told her to not show much emotion because it made her look ugly.
The "what the hell is wrong with you people? "parts always kills me
How the phrase becomes shorter is also funny
Well Dr. dooms name in the comic is also Victor Von doom And he actually isn’t a villain whenever he was with reed Richards he was actually his best friend in college it’s just the hard life he’s had with his mother being put in hell and his father being eaten by mountain lions and he’s eventual scarring because of the thing that forces Victor to become Dr. doom

To be honest, the way Doug would've preferred the first Fantastic 4 to be, i think it probably would've ended up being generic as hell.
What is Malcolm eating around the 1:45 moment?
For anyone curious and unbothered by spoilers from a 2000s show, look up "Nip/Tuck Christian" and just take a gander at a few of his scenes

Doug should make his own board game, with a stack of cards with movies from 2018 and below, with movies on them with the title screen of the movie on the card, then every one picks a card at random and they rate the movie out of 5 stars, then write on a piece of paper, (comes with the board game) about what they think is bad about it, and after 3-5 rounds of this, either the person that pointed out the most things wrong with the movie, or whoever has the overall best or worst movie (according to the other contestants)
wins!
I would actually but that
It was either Victor Von Doom, Otto Von Doom, or Victor Van Damme, they have to use the comic accurate name so it was gonna be ridiculous no matter what

I enjoyed the first movie. After that it went downhill for me. I used to be a big fan of the Fantastic Four comics, they were one of my favorite supergroups. Unfortunately, a lot of these movies are made so the studio can keep the license as opposed to actually wanting to make a great movie.

Dr Doom in these movies was a "sly like a fox" evil. Dr Doom in the comics was a speaks in third person, Saturday morning, SPEAKS IN ALL CAPS evil.
@@wardenm They gave us Visser One. We needed Visser Three.
@@liamannegarner8083 I mean it says something when Darth Vader was based in large part on him. When making a movie with a villain of that caliber, go big or go home!
These are four fantastic movies waiting to be made
The point is that they arent crime fighters. Even half the comics are them travelling on adventures. They're not crimefighters.
But at least that’s something, in the movies, they just lounge
I’m going to ask because no one else will, when are you watching the fantastic four 1990s movie produced by Roger Corman?
