  • Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh Division local C62 reaches Erie, PA to interchange with CSX while being led by a rare ex-Union Pacific snoot nose SD40-2, then waits for an eastbound manifest to pass before continuing to New York State! Also included is a mini chase of the same local and same snoot nose EMD from late July, as they make their way west back towards Erie to work a few more customers before heading home!

Oh My Goodness! The conductor got on moving equipment! NS management will clasp their pearls a faint onto the sofa!

Nice catch. Years ago I did videos from that spot. Another good spot is the NS yard in Ohio.

Thanks! Are you talking about the one in Conneaut? I've been meaning to head out that way for a while now.

@@mattygunn693 Yes, it's a great place to spend the day if you can. Plus the Lake Shore And Michigan Southern Passenger Depot is just north of that spot next to the CSX tracks.

apparently, the UP way back then, had an idea to put extra radio equipment in the long nose... but i don't think they ever did

From what I read Southern Pacific, Santa Fe, and Kansas City Southern did the same with their snoots, except theirs actually radio equipment in them.
