So what is bone sauce? I'm guessing a liquid that you dilute down and spray around the crops you want to protect? I checked it out on the website- it is super expensive, so guessing you don't need too much!

Good morning Danny! You have no idea how happy I was to see you and Wanda live this weekend and then seeing you this morning. After that video you made last week I was so afraid y’all were giving up TH-cam and I literally cried!! I only found y’all about a year ago and have gained so much knowledge. I hope you are around for a long long time. God bless you both. Love y’all!!

Can’t sleep tonight. Not feeling well. It was nice to get a notice about your video. Distracted my mind for a bit. I got my first tomatoes today from the garden. My husband and I had a tomato sandwich for supper. We are so dry also. No rain for the next week and highs close to 100. Watering with the hose every day but it’s nothing like rain. My green beans have pretty much quit making. This is normally our peak garden time here in AL. The weeds are still growing like crazy though. Just doing the best we can til the good Lord sees fit to send nourishing rain. God bless.

First year i have ever attempted sweet potatoes. So far, so good. I'm way up north in Canada. Its hot and dry up here, I was worried. But I planted one sweet potato for slips and have 20 plants in the ground from it so far. I'm going to keep planting them and cover over for winter like I do my garlic and see what happens. Hoping I get some this year though, for canning and fresh eating. Thank you for all your advice and encouragement, hints and info on what to expect and how to stay positive, no matter the outcome.

Danny, this is good stuff! I wanted to thank you for your excellent examples of what to do with our process of learning how to garden. We, my wife an I have moved forward quite a bit with our little 100x200ft little homestead garden. We have the thornless blackberries, grapes, cantaloupe, watermelon, blueberries, cherries, plums, elderberries, we have 23 tomato plants, peppers (various types), strawberries, peas, brockolea, beets, cucumbers, onions, and lots of various herbs. Thank you for your examples!

Thank you Mr. Danny & Mrs Wanda I listened to this 3 times while out in the garden & learned alot , even with owning your sweet potato manual i bought off etsy ,
As I didnt know about the Regular potatoes I picked geez 6 -8 weeks ago out of the ground ( not my grow bag & tote , pots of seed potatoes ) i found a few with splits , last year was 1st time I grew potatoes but in grow bags & pots didnt have that issue .
So this year bought Kennabac whites & Norlan reds and with our crazy weather here in Texas about a month b4 it was time to harvest my 42 pounds of potatoes some had splits now i know its from the rain .
I did succession plant fingerlings & a few small red potatoes like i did last August and should have more in about beginning of September & will again ...
Every day I get up early with my husband and get out on our almost 1/4 acre in back yard all because of yall & some other great creators & plant , harvest , feed , weed ,
Thank you for all you have taught me NEW that my Dad didnt even know about ...
    God bless you

I used to have a lot of trouble with voles(underground rats) in my garden. My garden is bordered on two sides by woods. I planted peanuts one year and the vines were massive with peanuts pegged all over the vines. When I went to dig them there were no peanuts except for empty hulls. The ground under the vines was riddled with tunnels and burrows of voles. They did the same with sweet potatoes. I dug a12-18" deep ditch on the sides of my garden bordering woods. I found many entrance tunnels. The voles don't like to travel above ground or cross ditches. I then put rat poison in their tunnels. I still have occasional problems but they're extremely rare.
Funny story, I planted my tomatoes one evening and found a missing plant the next morning. It's as if someone pulled it up without disturbing the soil surface. I replanted the space. Later that day I noticed only a few leaves of the new plant were above ground. I dug down and found I was planting over a burrow of voles. They were eating the plant from below, roots and all. They pulled the plant down into their burrow as they ate it.

Y'all should end up with a good sweet potato harvest. I'm growing some for the first this year and can't wait to see how they do. Y'all got everything looking really nice!

I really like that tractor and you should be proud you fixed it up. I wish I could get a hold of some of them corn to plant, Amazing! Hot here as well Danny, and no rain for over 30 days. I'm doing everything I can using horticultural molasses, liquid seaweed, fish emulsion and I order more 40% shade cover. Your sweet taters are looking great, ours are doing good in our 30 gal pots. Like the old video. God Bless yawl. Mike & Rochelle

Agree! We need to start getting loud. Physical in the street protesting is hard for us… we work! What else can we do?

Really gardening is work. Things didn't work out and I had to get my sweet taters out late. I am hoping for a late fall and maybe I can get some out of my efforts. Thanks for all the encouragement to keep trying. Blessings.

Good Monday Mornin' Dep South Homestead. Got my taters in the bucket. Times are tough. We all need to do what we can to survive - strong and self sufficient. Growing our own food for the most part - occasionally shopping at the Dollar Tree or thrift stores (walking there instead of driving whenever possible). I try to support my local merchants, when I do have to spend money on something - avoiding those "delivered to your doorstep" companies like Amazon. Overall, I'm doing my part to avoid increasing the carbon footprint.
