    in this video I re-scrape my koi and find I still have flukes so I tried treating them with lernex pro
    also I found blanket weed in my koi grow on so I treat it with cloverleaf blanket answer

    That was actually some great footage on what flukes look like. Many don’t know what to look for and it was quite detailed in appearance.

    These flipping little vermin. Hope it works. I wonder what made me barrel smell. Is it the static bed?

      Hello mate yes bloody horrible little things 😫.yes it's a static bed it really stank like dead fish 🤮 I think it will get better as it matures. I always cut lots out of my videos in case they bore people I will make them a little longer in future 😁

    Hope you can get on top of the flukes adding my second dose of fluke solve the weekend your filters seem to be keeping your water gin clear despite the smell in your barrel could do with some decent weather to get on top of all the jobs

      Hello Dave hopefully your second dose dose the job. Yes they seem to be working a treat with clarity and nitrogen cycle touch wood I haven't had anymore smell coming from it since so hopefully it will be fine now 🤞.yes mate I can't wait for the sun to come back vim sick of rain now

    Hi mate have y you thought about using a tank connecter on the bottom of the barrel and running a standpipe this is how I do it on my home made easypod and you can then in turn use it also as an overflow.
    Good luck with the flukes I've had to dose this spring already but doubt forget that slugs are known for carrying flukes in their slime coats also

    Hi buddy you need a bigger air stones in barrel if it's a moving bed filter I have a 8" airstone in my moving bed filter and have loads and loads of movement your video shows the fluke really really well one off the best vids I've seen on TH-cam to-date

      Thanks mark that barrel is a static mechanical I have 2 static k1 beds then a moving bed then alfagrog I only use the air to clean that barrel but yes I still definitely need a larger diameter airline and bigger airstone . Hopefully the scope image of the fluke helps someone identify the little buggers in the future. Thanks mate 👍

    That is looking sharp..
    Never really had too much problem with flukes.. But I use potassium permanganate twice a season.. Spring and fall .
    Those are buggers

    Hope you get on top of them flukes mate. Lernex Pro didn't work for me. But pp then sluke solve seems to have. Scrapes all clear now but the fish are still flashing so I'm proper confused now

      Next time I try to deal with fluke I'm going to have to strip a bit of slime first I can't be doing with treating this many times. It dose your box in when you have clear scrapes and good water quality and they still flash hopefully it's just the rain water and it will stop as it warms up 🤞

      Cheers mate tbh I didn't have much look when I used it although it could of been fluke p a can't remember. I think next time I will try your method with the formalin first then the fluke m. I'm sure it's the bloody pigeons bringing them to the pond 👍

    Hi Leon, I tried fluke M from kusuri doesn’t look like it’s work for me hit it again yesterday hopefully it does a better job, if it doesn’t work I was gonna try fluke solve since your saying it doesn’t work and read some comment with same reply, keep me posted if you find anything to solve the issue, good luck with the fluke and take care bro 👍🏻

      Cheers bro. A few of the old skill koi keepers have suggested using pp or formalin to thin the slime coat before using fluke treatment so maybe next time I'll try that first. I'll let you know how I get on with this lernex pro fingers crossed it does the job 👍

    Done Lernex, L pro twice, flukesolve twice. And still not shifting them, try the CT 24hrs before then second dose of Pro after that I haven't got a clue to do next,

      Been told to dose with pp first to strip the slim and then flukasol but didn't work, uses fluke p and then flukasol back to back but didn't work, used fmg and something else and still can't shift them, it's impossible

      Yeah mate it's been a nightmare this year the lernex pro seemed to work for me but they have started flashing again this week so I'm expecting to see some when I scrape

    Bloody flukes,I had exactly the same last year, it was the lernex pro that worked for me in the end. Fingers crossed it works for you.

      Hello mate, I'm not sure tbh I tend to start at the lowest magnification first then work my way up . I think it's the 400x I use most I'll check the scope and let you know 👍

    Blimey the ammount of ponds with harder to shift fluke this year is unbelievable. I'm grateful one course shifted mine, but I'd love to know the reason for all the fluke this year. I had a thought that maybe because the start of the season has been so bad, the koi are late in strengthening there immune system. Just a thought 🤔

    Makes you wonder if the companies who make all the fluke treatments, have reduced it's efficiency, so many pond keepers having so many problems and using the same products that worked well in the past 🤔😏👍

    I have put 2 doses of fluke solve in and it hasn’t worked for me either
    I was thinking of doing a PP be good to see how that columbo works I may get it myself 👍🏼👍🏼

    Perhaps the fluke treatment is being eaten up by the filters before it gets to work on the flukes? Time to get a hospital tank? Good luck pal, I'm sure you'll do well.

      Cheers mate. Yes I was thinking about a quarantine tank/hospital tank it would save me some money and time. You may be right with the filters as I have the lid off the moving bed and it's possibly gasing off some of the treatment 👍

    I would chuck the ones with flukes in that tub and treat for a week in there. You won't need so much. Or you could try pp first to strip the slime coat then apply the fluke treatment. Good luck mate. Flipping flukes are not easy to kill

    Hi Leon, learnex pro is the only fluke treatment that works for me, I know it's expensive but it works, I was buying it from Nikoi in Netherlands, worked out cheaper and got more product, but I expect brexit has knocked that on the head lol 😁.

      @@progressivepondkeeping I have a moving bed, I don't think it will gas off, I always clean my filters first, and leave the next filter clean as long as possible after medication, just so everything is exposed as long as possible to the learnex, don't know if this is right/wrong, just the way I do it. Hope it works for you, by the way get a large circular air disc in that barrel as soon as you can, think there is stagnant water at the bottom of the barrel as is.

      Thanks mate. I've got a 6 inch disc at the bottom but only 4mm airline to be honest it dose boil well when full I think it's refiling in this video. Yes I think you are right mate let it stay in the water for asking as possible. Thanks for your help mate it's very much appreciated 👌👍

    Yeah I got the same problem with my K1 Water but filter with the drain off to waste I had to put a 45 elbow inside to make sure I got to the bottom of the but
    I’ve never had any problems with small (but I don’t have the Air Stone one 24hr a day) I only switch it on when I do a clean.
    Wtf is that 2” Rubber boot 😂😂😂😂 that’s ROUGH 😳

      Cheers mate yes I think the 45 in the way to go, I'm the same I only run the air for cleaning on that barrel. 😂😂 That rubber boot was hilarious the seller listed it as for ponds it's literally full of some sort of lubrication grease that would probably kill my fish 😫

      Yeah I always put a smear of Vaseline on my Rubber joints works wonders no problem with leaks

    In the future, if you treat with chloramine T 24 hours before you use a fluke treatment. It will strip back the mucus layers (where the fluke hide) so that the treatment is more effective. See below directions.
    Use Chloramine T at 15g per 1000 gallons, 24 hours before using Fluke M, this will assist in reducing the mucus membrane where body flukes can sometimes get trapped.

    I’m having same problem, flukesolve, fluke m and lernex pro did nothing to get rid of flukes. Not sure what to do now

      The only other thing I can think of is using some formalin or something to strip a bit of mucus then treat with fluke treatment. It's possible our koi has a thick slime coat protecting the flukes from the treatment
