Great video. Excellent info regarding early Rocker kits. Going to have to keep an eye out for one myself. I've wanted a green sparkle kit for a long time and this super restoration on your part has me jacked even more. Killer grooves at the end my friend. Thanks for sharing!

I love my set, 5 piece. Put on the black suede Remo's - what a wake up for these monsters!
Best set in the world, this simple, old kit~! Whole set for 1K - chrome wrap, funky and chunky sound with those warmer heads! put the black suede heads on the roto-toms, too - whoa daddy!

Nice looking kit. I never use the double-sided tape either unless I use it to start the wrap on the shell..

My high end 70 luddies were maple/poplar. In the 80's when all maple came into vogue, the maple/.poplar were rebranded "rockers" and cost less. When they were USA made, they sounded top notch.

These sound killer I need to get a set. Aldo I see that pdp LX floor tom in the background. That's the exact kit I have.

According to the Ludwig website, they are NOT the same shells as the high-end sets, even though they are made in USA. Nice looking set. I'm getting a 88' rocker set, not rocker II like yours.

Love the green. The lugs look a little like Ludwig Standard lugs.

Wrap looks great! Good info in this video! My kit is the first Rockers...the shell interiors don't have any paint/coating like yours. Maybe that was a Rocker II thing?

I now know from experience how crappy the lugs are on the rockers that have the "standard" lugs. I converted an old snare drum with those lugs and several of them stripped out and broke off when putting the screws in. Guess you aren't supposed to tighten them very much, lol.

Sad thing is that those Rockers were still USA made...it's a shame they skimped on the hardware.

That wrap looks fantastic! I really want to do the same on mine, I haven't done anything like that before, is it fairly easy to do?

beautiful kit. nice work on the re-wrap. i like and agree with everything you did and said here, except that nonsense about the Speed King. i admit they're not for everyone, but the thing is you gotta learn how to play a Speed King. it doesn't do the work for you. you gotta lean in. also, do you still have this kit? because i want it.

"Evans all the way around" theres only 3 toms....lol......Yup that sounds like a rockers kit. Itd be nice if you worked on isolating the room to have a "drums only" booth, it would really bring out the fine sound of them drums....but it looks like that's what your trying to do....make a video with that kit miked up. Thanks for the upload!!!
