I ended up splicing into the fuel line coming straight out of the tank (so as to not cut the braided line) and put a drain cock at the end of the line. There may be a screw at the bottom of the carburator but it's not very friendly for capturing fuel in a container.
On mine the screw will dump the bowl and disassemble the carb. Also the carb sits too low which is why the drain is helpful allows me to put back in my 5 gallon tanks.
And this whole time I have been removing the gas cap, picking up the generator and flipping it over.
Strong like Bull...
Costco will only take my return on my generator if there’s no gas in the tank thank you you’re a saver

They recommend you drain it before storing it. Why don’t they make it easy to do so?
Maybe you could do a video on how you added the T connector. I’m scared to death I’ll screw up my generator
I can do that
So how do you run the generator if the gas is just going to run out without a shutoff.
Isn't there a screw at the bottom of the carburetor?

Can’t I just syphon the gas out?
Yea that's what I did to mine then started it so it can use whatever little is left
