Great video thanks ! Followed your instructions with the identical carb, cleaned, reassembled and added the inline filter. I spent 2 hours the previous day trouble shooting with no luck. Ordered a new carb ($50). I Foo und and watched your video last night, went this morning to get carb cleaner and a filter ($25). One hour of work this morning and on the second try she fired up and ran like a charm! I have cancelled my carb order and plan to maintain the carb in the early fall before winter weather and power outages occur. Thanks again!
Thanks so much for this video. We have the same exact generator, had tried to starve it of gas after Hurricane Ida, and it did not work for our one day without power after Hurricane Francine. Couldn't get it to keep running after many tries over this last week. Watched your video twice, followed all your clear instructions, and got it back to running on the first try! I'm happy and grateful for your steps because it was easy for me to follow and figure out. My husband appreciates your attention to detail as well. Thank you!
Hey, really appreciate the step by step on this. I left my generator sit for a year and did not fire it up at all and I think the carburetor got clogged up. I will clean it our over the weekend using this video as a guide. thanks again.
Thanks for this video. I followed your guide today and got my WH03242 running again! I had to go thru everything twice - not sure what I missed the first time. The only thing I need to do now is get a new gasket for the bottom of the carb bowl. Mine had a fiber gasket and it fell apart. Going to get a tube of gasket material. Now I have the confidence to work on my weed whacker!! Thanks again.
Excellent Video Sir! Thank you for sharing all the details. I am about to take my carburetor out of the same model of FIRMAN generator and clean it up real good.
thanks a lot for making this video. You have saved me a lot of time, even though I could have done it anyway. Most of all, I probably avoided a few mistakes!
Thanks Milton my carb leaked fuel from someplace when I started the Gen. I have a Firman dual fuel and will probably buy a new carb. and replace. Thanks for the advice.
@@chrisdixon2525quick question. My battery took a hit from me trying to start it 30 times without it starting before I cleaned it. If I leave the generator running for a hour or two will it recharge the battery? I have a pull start on it to. But I started it with a portable battery jump. I don’t have a slow charger right now but was wondering if i just left it running will it charge up the battery again. Thanks
Thank your, yes you are a life saver. Hope you make some money on video. I have the 3 gas option generator for using the house natural gas. Its hard wired to the house electrical panel. with a lock- out. Much like a whole house generator but not automatic. When I hook it up it runes everything, but my Geothermal furnace. It also runs the furnace fan. with my gas fire place running I can keep the house fairly warm. Thank you for having a desire to help people. God Bless

Fantastic instruction video. My bottom needle valve was completely frozen up with crud. After cleaning the carb and freeing up the fuel intake valve it still did not work, so I think the valve/solenoid is bad. Does that valve retract with the on/off switch? If so, I should be able to detach it and see it go in-out when I turn the switch on/off?
@@chrisdixon2525 Actually, it turned out the venturi that runs up through the center shaft of the carburator was completely plugged with varnish and crud. I don't recall seeing the removal of that in your video but maybe I missed it. After I cleaned that venturi (held in place with a hollow set screw, and replacing the oil, it started 1st pull! Thanks for the insights.
Excellent instructions. Some questions: 1. Will the carburetor cleaner damage the rubber on the tip of the needle valve in the float? 2. Will the inline fuel filter interfere with the gravity feed of the fuel? 3 Did you determine if it has an in tank filter?
I guess over time it might. I try not to soak the tip just wipe it off. I've never had a issue with the filters I use.i guess there's potential if the filter was super restrictive. There usually is a small filter in the on off valve but I didn't pull this particular one apart. Fuel free flowed freely when I had it apart. Thanks for watching. I'm not a certified professional mechanic. But I do normally end up with a pretty good repair. I do appreciate your feedback 🙂👍🏼
Do you happen to know what kind of gaskets this carb uses? I'm preparing to rebuild mine but can't seem to find the right gasket kit. I prefer to have them handy just in case they're stubborn and want to tear / fall apart
Look up on Amazon carburetor gasket kit for 439cc clone engine. If yours is exactly like the one in the video. Should have a decal telling engine size. Should get multiple gaskets in one kit for like 10$.
I have this same exact generator, bought in Oct 2022 for Hurricane Ian. I've started it and ran it maybe 5 times since then, every 4-5 months I'd try to start it. Well, now it starts when on "choke", but then it dies as soon as I put it to "run" and then gas starts pouring out of the air filter area. I took it apart and that bottom magnetic plunger you mentioned @17:47 was very hard to push in. I cleaned it up quite a bit and it moves in and out a lot easier now, but I also disassembled the rest of the carb and upon reinstallation it still pours out gas from the filter area and still stalls out when I move it from choke to run. Any tips? Thanks!
The float is stuck. Take it back apart pull out the needle that goes in the seat. Clean it really good. If you've got time may just get a new one from Amazon. I know i said in the video they are more expensive but I don't think they're that high. Just put a new one on it and soak and clean your old one so it'll be ready in an emergency. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
@@chrisdixon2525 thank you so much for the quick reply, much appreciated! We just dodged this big Hurricane, but I'd surely like to get this thing running and be prepared for the next time I need it. I just picked up some carb cleaner, so I'll disassemble it all again and clean it with carb cleaner this time instead of fuel, and see if that helps. If not, looks like I'm buying a new float. I noticed that complete carburetors are around $28, maybe I'll just grab a whole replacement and mess with this one on the side. Thank you again for your knowledge and for your video, was extremely helpful in taking this thing apart and putting it back together! Also appreciate the insight in to adding a fuel filter in there, I may have to snag one of those too. Just any universal 1/4" fuel filter that looks like that should work, right?

Having issues uploading a photo…it’s the larger screw that secures the bottom cup of the carburetor to the top. The larger rubber gasket to the inside of the carb (when screwed in) is frayed-can you buy this part by itself?
