I bought the piscifun 400 slow speed for thoeing top water baits. I just came back home from a northwest Ontario. I used it all week swithing between top water and bucktails and the reel performed flawlessly. i palm the reel on retrieve and this reel feels great. It casts great. I ran the spool brake on 6 to prevent backlash. Over all I like the reel
I like mine, but I prefer the 300 since it is lighter. I would only recommend the 400 if you must have more line capacity. I fish braid so the 300 works for me.
I started pike fishing in the uk a couple of years ago.my first Baitcaster was the piscifun torrent.due to the amount sold and good reviews on Amazon.a brilliant choice. I’ve purchased another since then for another rod and now purchased the 300 alijoz.a great reel.brilliant value for money.handles 20lb+ pike no problem 👍👍
great video i got the Piscifun flame spinning reel 1000 ul reel had it for 4 years for 20 bucks and it work just as good as any shimano i used and lews reels i used for crappie fishing i was surprised how good it worked for a el cheapo reel im still using it great review and i will buy more of this brands of reel in the future i never tried there bait casters
I only have the Picifun Alloy M baitcaster reel. Really like it and it gets good reviews on TH-cam. Same goes with other reels from Picifun. Fantastic price as well. Seem to be quality built. Enjoy your reel 👍🐟
I have the 300 size of this reel and the 300 size does come with a paddle handle option. which is what I prefer and I love that reel to death personally it's my favorite baitcaster so far.
I picked up a left hand crank version. I'm right-handed and it was nice to see a musky reel set-up correctly. So many are not. Casting right handed and switching to left hold to reel right is stupid.
I would be concerned with the push button release. Your logic of being cheaper is relative. What if another reel that is twice as expensive lasts for your lifetime with normal maintenance? Thanks for your review
Thanks for the review. I just bought a Diawa Prorex 9’5 rod and I’m looking for a reel to put on it without breaking the bank. I’ve been looking at these. As you mentioned, there are a ton of positive reviews on this reel, but I knew they couldn’t all be real. After seeing your video, I’m not as skeptical. I do have a question tho - what is the lightest lure you have thrown with it? I ask because I throw a lot of lighter, smaller lures in the Spring because that seems to work best, but my light Muskie set up has a lot of wear and tear. Basically I just wanted to see if I can throw these lighter Spring lures with this reel. Thanks in advance!
I threw some minnow/jerkbaits with it, they worked' but work better on my lighter set up, but that could be due to the rods too. I don't think I ever tried anything as light as a size 5 blade bucktail with it. If most of what you are throwing is lighter stuff, I'd go with the Piscifun 300. One thing I did like about this 400 in throwing the jerkbaits was it's high speed. It was very easy to keep slack out of the line when jerking in the baits.
does the line guide move back and forth when engaged? this is important because if the line guide stays stationary it messes up the line on the spool. For example, almost abu reels like the 5500c3 have the line guide move back and forth in freespool/engage mode.
That is a True Grip handle. I like it because I have to sit sometimes casting and I can rest the grip on my leg as I reel. It works best on heavier rod/reel combos, on lighter ones the rod feels off balanced. Here is their web site truegripfishing.com/shop-all/
The rod is a Chaos Assault Stick SWAT. The grip is an add-on. That is a True Grip handle. I like it because I have to sit sometimes casting and I can rest the grip on my leg as I reel. Thank you for keeping it honest. I had to search to find a video that wasn't a paid advertisement for the reel. Glad I found you're channel.

@QC.b.r.i.a.n.s my bucket list still has a few fish on it too but yeah it's a good reel right now I have 50 lb braid on it.
i want to get one for fishing yellow tail and barracuda in southern california. i have the 300 size for calico bass and bonito!

Nice review. Great job. Following the channel now.

Nice pistol grip. Did you ever think to mount the reel on a shotgun? 😅

Yes, it moves when engaged... I can't imagine any reel being usable if the line guide stayed stationary.
thanks for the good honest review!
What's up with the gun handle thing. Looks cool

That tranx left side plate is a disaster! It's such a problem that getting a replacement is impossible.
I lost one last year. I got a replacement from Mat's Reel Repair in Eagle River
What rods is that??? I have a diawa prorex 400 and i need a nice rod like that one with that big grip

What can you expect for line capacity for braid? What are you lbs running?
It hold 40 yard braid for 400 yards all the way up to 80 pound braid 165 yards
Does the thumb barr feel really cheap and hollow or does it feel solid
It's plastic, but I don't notice it feeling cheap. It also has ribbing on it so your thumb doesn't slip.
I bought the 400 8:1 and the gears started grinding and the tension wheel broke in 4 hours of muskie fishing. Junk.
Yours was junk, however everyone else has had great luck with theirs. Myself included, i own four 👍
8:1 is garbage you have to get the 6:1 or whatever it is
I pucharsed this fishing reel I am from india please you help me purchased this
If you already purchased it, then you need no help purchasing one. Please be more careful in the wording of your scams in the future.
It’s still holding up in salt water?
Do you have the 8.1:1 or 6.6:1 gear ratio?
I have the 8.1:1 . I find it easier to run a high speed slowly than to try and run a low speed fast.
Do they have affordable rods?
While they do have rods, I don't know if they have anything suitable for musky fishing. www.piscifun.com/collections/rods
@@oldmuskyguy9996 thank you
Please tell me about the reel seat???
Not sure what you mean. The reel seat is just the standard one that comes on Chaos rods. Do you mean the add on pistol grip?

yes its that piston im intrigued i build rods and never saw that

Wonder if it can take being dunked in a kayak surf launch in the saltwater
