I have the 300 and 400. I've done lots of casting on the 400 and it's performed quite well. I'm very pleased with it. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
@reeree9881 The rod this reel is paired with is the 8'6" extra heavy shield rod from the musky shop. It can definitely throw a large bucktail with ease and at a pretty good distance. I'm pretty happy with it. The one thing I've had happen is the reel not engaging, but it's only happened a couple of times and with tapping the thumb trigger it's resolved. But like I said in the video, for the price it's actually pretty decent. I'd buy another.
When you were spoiling did you put your spool knot around that notch or just around the spool like normal ? I just got mine wondering what the notch on the spool does.
The box and product description say it's aluminum. Guess at some point I'll have to file off the anodization to find out. Did the reel break at the foot? I think most reel feet are either some sort of metal or composite type of material.
Good review, l was looking at those reels. Thanks

@lanz2659 I think I just did it like I normally do. However, I did use a backing of 40# mono. I think I did the same on my 300 I have too.
Supposed to be aluminum right? I got one and its got plastic frame and reel feet 🤔
