I should clarify that, you CAN disable ads in the settings of the phone - The point I was trying to make is that, I didn't like fact that they're there in the first place.
What's YOUR opinion on ads baked into the phone? Does it bother you, or, do you not care at all?
As long as they give me the option to disable them, and its not forced on you, it shouldn't be an issue at all. Especially for that price.. Damn.

I absolutely LOVE this kind of thing, and it's a shame more phones don't do it. It adds a ton of personality and fun to a phone and it's a simple addition! Simple animations and visuals bring a phone from a boring brick to a living breathing device in my opinion. That's 2 second clip is cooler than anything my lame ass Samsung phone does.
It slows down the charging a bit though, by powering the screen it uses some power too

@@Its-Boremon I bought this for emulation gaming and as a media player (I don't use it as a phone). I have worked it all day without having to recharge. The battery is >5000 mAh. It will last you a full day of work.
@@Its-Boremon Definetely last a day. It has huge battery. But how long it will last is depending on usage. It has strong CPU, 120 Hz display (set to 60 Hz in factory).
I dont know much of phones that last more than a day - if you really using them. Wide charges it once a day. And let me tell you that 33W charging is wow. I sometimes charge my 9T Pro with that.. and also wow.

@@pinksunshine8030 I think it came with miui 12 out of the box but the issues weren't there from the start. First few days I had it I could watch stuff and play games for hours without losing much of the battery, but now watching things on medium brightness can drain the battery quite a bit after a while
I've had this phone basically since this video came out and it's pretty good. The only problems I have are using the cloud storage and apparently running out of storage when it didn't making me nearly lose my data unless I paid, so just use some third-party cloud storage. The second thing is that whenever a new app just finished downloading in the background it kicks you out of the current program and shows the finished download screen (Even if you disable the ads the screen shows but just without the ads). Other than that it's perfect.
You can disable Xiaomi's app installer (reversibly and without voiding any warranties) using ADB (there's a debloater program to make it easier). Then it defaults to the play store app installer which doesn't show that screen anymore.
How has the battery lasted?
Iv had a Samsung a71 for the last 16 months and just recently the phone just dies when it's down to the last 15%. This is the first Samsung iv had and I'm a bit disappointed as it wasn't the cheapest phone and expected it to last a bit longer. Just wondered I'd the poco battery had any issues? Thanks

Personally I love the poco x3 pro it’s amazing and it’s an absolute performance beast I highly recommend this and as for ads I couldn’t care less this phone has checked all the boxes in my list

yeah that phone is messed up, after two years my phone needed to have its cpu reballed because of the heat and low melt solder. I enjoyed the speed though. I hardly gamed at all aswell
@@ninjatall15 mine still alive after almost 3 years (well i used it only for almost a year) but sent it to repair 2 times because it has many artefacts, crashes or just ghost caracters issues because of the heat..... but well it's the only good xiaomi phone i had that's still alive

Extraordinary detailed review. Especially in regards to the intrusive ads and the details advertisers have left out or misleadingly added in. Honest is the best policy as the old school says.
Do you own this phone? If you did, you'd know that these ads are practically non-existent even if you don't turn them off. Because you Can turn them off if you want in the settings menu.

Agree, I switched from Galaxy S20 Ultra and I am much more satisfied with POCO. The battery life is great, the camera performs good in 80% of the cases. No 5G, but that doesn't justify almost 1000 Euro difference in price. And I got POCO for 170 Euro as a spare device. Now the Samsung is in the drawer for 3 weeks and will stay there.

Bought it 6month ago and its still amazing phone i ever had. (really good for budget photography and good in gaming experience. no fps drops and ultra graphics in any game with 60-120fps)
I think after using multiple apps the ram on the phone can't take the loading

@@helen8625 hello! yes it records really good quality of videos for its price. it has 1080p60fps and 4k30fps back camera also have many features with recording one of them is macro recording or timelapse. (you can use google camera to record with 4k60fps) but on front camera i cant say much becouse i havent used it for video recording many times . but i can say that it has 1080p30fps front camera. this phone is also amzaing for nightsky pictures. i have seen comparisons of iphone 11 and poco x3 nfc and it has almost same quality of photos or video recording. also one of best things i love in phone is turbo charging it has 33w charger and it takes to charge battary (5160mah) 0->100% in 45-50minues . so for traveling and video recording its good becouse you can charge before travel and you can use it whole day for video recording or photo shoots. (but i recomend to buy 128gb+ of storage if you will use it for video recordings becouse i have 64 gb one and on 4k recordings it takes big amout of storage of phone. so i recomend poco x3 for its price.

I'm late to the Party i know, but this video made me buy this phone. All the benefits and disadvantages listed with a clear opinionless mind, just stating facts. I disabled the ads first ting during the setup, so for me it was just part of the setup process. I have the 256GB/8GB RAM version, and i use it for everything. Because of my work a rarely if ever have time to play on PC or Console, so i have loaded almost every Emulator on it and a Bucked of games. Even Gamecube and Ps2 work like a charm and after 2 years, the phone still kills it. Before i upgrde to a new phone in the future, i will surely check out this channel to see whats in store for me, cause it was the most honest review i ever had seen. Cheers

While watching your excellent review I thought I was looking at an Umidigi phone. I have used them for years and my cheapest A7 (not recommended) looked and operated like Poco but without the guts. I would assume in China as in Japan and Korea they do not have a Combines Act which prevents them from collaborating to make products better and cheaper. Most countries have eliminated collaboration and shot themselves in the foot in the long run. Great vid and I subscribed.

I upgraded(?) to a Poco X3 Pro from an Xperia XZ Premium that decided to die after almost 4 years of constant use. I must say, the specs are amazing on paper, 90% of the tasks run better on this phone than my previous one. To be honest, though, I am not a huge fan of the MIUI, it feels overbloated with many apps that seem useful but way too forced, begging you to place them on your home screen and use them. I can also tell that some games run beyond horribly without the game booster on, to the point of them being literally unplayable, a Galaxy Mini 2 could run them better. Most of the ads can be disabled, too, which is nice, but definitely cheapens the experience (though, it is already really cheap for what it offers). Hopefully they improve the optimization and provide less bloating with MIUI 13 that will apparently come out in a few months, because aside from these relatively small details that the general consumer will most likely not mind much, this phone is great for its price. The only downgrades I see from my XZ Premium are that games tend to run worse, the UI has too much bloatware, and I am not a fan of the rounded corners and camera punch hole, but I am in the huge minority who think that way. I got it for around $307 here, since phones tend to be more expensive here (for reference, buying an iPhone 12 Pro Max or Galaxy S21 Ultra is approximately $1.636 here), which is less than half the price I got my XZ Premium for. So, if your budget is around this phone's range, and what you are mainly looking for is a lot of power, a big screen and lasting battery, this phone is a very good option for sure
Or you could try a Custom ROM, im using pixel experience plus and the difference is night and day, i love poco phones for thier hardware the only thing holding it back is software.
That's the story of android since the beginning. Awesome hardware, but software that lacks refinement. Even if it's small, if you encounter an issue frequently and it impedes workflow or it breaks you out of the experience, it is an issue.
I like android because it's fun to use, iPhone's software is refined to the point of being boring, it's an incredible work tool but extremely boring if you like messing with your device.

To be honest I have bought this phone at €275 for the 128gb model, it's an exceptional phone for the price, and they have released updates and solved most of the lags you have mentioned here, I would say, you should review it once more.
I paid 230€ 128gb variant,but now is X3 Pro available for 245€ :-(

I have this phone. I love the speakers. It is the main reason why I bought it. The battery life is also great. It is so much cheaper than anything else in its range.

You can disable the ads in xiaomi phones. I think even in all of them. don't know how about others
I got this phone last year, after seeing this video , and this phone has been a really good daily driver for me since the last year, the insane value it gave in this price segment. The only drawback for me was the heavy weight of this device and how big it is, but it's just my opinion.

But I'll give you a response to another...

1: Connectivity Issues.
Mobile use is sporadic.
And many times will not connect to your home network after being away. Using your mobile data till you notice. IF YOU NOTICE.
Because you naturally think it would.
2: Auto-Rotate,.. sucks.
Has a mind of its own at times.
And often will disappear the Task Bar. So you either have to flip it back and forth to get it to show up,.. or just reboot it.
3: Task Bar
As mentioned above.
Even getting the task bar to work while viewing even your pictures is problematic.
4: Keyboard use
Will paste words or phrases from text you may OR MAY NOT have written. And you never know when. Library is worthless. And it will choose it's words whether turned on or off. And is almost unusable at times. With the curser being hard to control where you want it.
5: Mobile Network Dropouts
Pretty self explanatory. And I'm comparing it to my 6yr old Axon 7.
In the same area, same number and same network.
Which I may add. This area has actually gotten many new Cell Towers. And still has problems I NEVER EXPERIENCED.
6: Texting
You may find the bottom line while texting will not be visible or accessible when you rotate the phone from vertical to horizontal.
7: Cameras
You'll find the problems if you take pictures. Especially if you use the High Meg lenses.
And things you would expect to be automatic,.. just aren't. Like Micro. The cameras should automatically focus on the subject. My 6yr old phone did.
8: Battery Life
It's Big. It's Heavy.
And even with battery saver on. Doesn't perform even as good as my old one. And you will find the phone heating up often in use,.. or charging. More than it should.
That should be enough. There's so much more.
And I'm not a fan of it's touch screen either. It does weird 💩 even in your pocket. And will go into screens you may not know even exist 🥴
For me.
This phone has more issues than every phone I've owned combined. And my first was a Motorola BRICK.
And after months of updates. Hasn't gotten better.
US and Foreign versions may be different. But it's hard to imagine the hardware and software issues could be different enough to address everything I've found.
So, Enjoy.
...I'm fixing my old Axon as we speak. And just noticed this thing Erased some of my points. So I renumbered them instead of rewriting. I'm sure you get the idea 😬✌️

My old Daily User was an Axon 7.
Never Failed. Best the 💩 of everything we Battled. I'm in Seattle. So I played with the Expensive Guys 😂... as they jumped the bus in Ballard.
And my Axon,..
Is damn near Perfect.
And it will be Again when I'm done fixing it.
That's gotta tell ya something. When fixing a 6yr old phone is better than using this New High Power Phone 😂

1. The Ads is NOT intrusive nor you will even see that see once a week, it's only when installing and uninstalling, how many times do you install/uninstall app per day? probably 0 almost everyday.
2. The camera app of MIUI is shit, use Google Camera to properly utilize what the real capabilities of the camera is. it will be 3x better with Nigh Sight on GCam too.
3. It's still cheaper and way better than any other phones above its own category even with that increase 30 euro.
4. 6GB RAM is more than enough, there's no app in the world that uses more than 2.5gb -.-
even Genshin Impact, PUBG, Ragnarok Mobile doesn't eat more then 2.5gb at max settings.
5. That screen has auto refresh rate adjustment, it will improve over OS Updates.
6. I don't know how much they paid him to dirty the name of the phone that's literally making changes in the industry.
@@gethermedel3620 just two things, first of all, Xiaomi hasn't even announced that they have baked ads into the ui, if they did, it would've been acceptable and that people would've found ways around the ads, dude the first time you boot up a phone, do you just check out the phone or download apps that you need?, so you get an ad everytime you download like 20 apps, second point - he hasn't badmouthed the phone, in part of Xiaomi ads, he has made a video to let us know that there are ads baked into the software, and if he is paid, he would've said its sponsored
I have an iPhone 12 but still I'll choose my trusty old X3 anyday anytime. Been 2.5 years and still running strong. I love it so much I'm gonna have it's battery replaced and run it for a few more years ❤️

@@clickbaitpro 80% of the people buying phones simply aren't tech enthusiasts. The simple fact is that the adverts shouldn't be baked into the os. For all you know they could still be using your data for ads much like Google.

I've had this phone since spring and only when You pointed it out did I even notice the ads. I mean I guess it's a deal breaker for some people, but they appear so rarely that I never even notice them. Never received an ad when uninstalling something though.
Picked up the 6/128GB model like 6 Months ago and couldnt be happier. Disabling the ads took 5 minutes of work.

I just got this phone recently and I don't regret it. to me the ads on this phone never really bothered me personally and the camera I just didn't care about that when I was searching for a phone to buy. when I was searching for a phone I was looking for one that was cheap and could do gaming. i love this thing and I can never go back it's a really good phone if your on a budget.

I used adb to uninstall/disable all the bloatwares and installed google apps for almost everything. Also turned the app suggestions off in mostly apps. Gives me a clean experience without a single ad.

Tbh..I got my Poco F3 as a replacement for a dying mate20. Got the 8gb/256gb for under 300euro. I disliked the ads a lot and I feel like the menu's annoy me, because it just seems messy and unnecessary complicated and not so structured. That said.. the value Vs price is through the roof!!
All advertising is now switched off, bloat removed, and after a few days getting the hang of things it really becomes more impressive..all this goodness and all-day flagship performance for so little of spending!!
Ideally yes the bloat and ads shouldn't be needed, however they are also a relatively small one time annoyance and important it all can be switched off and doesn't bother you anymore in its every day use.
The f3 is a beast of a Device for a bargain price and honestly..what exactly am I am missing out on VS a 1000$ flagship. It's almost nothing 😉.
I'd say this f3 gives it that OnePlus vibe. Yet even price undercut those significantly! This Poco f3 was actually cheaper than my decade ago OnePlus one! And really it's crazy good for that money!
I literally switched from a OnePlus 2 to a Poco F3 a few months ago and I have the exact same feeling. A bit of work to get everything right: installing all the things you need, setting it up like you want, bring everything up date and disable annoying stuff, but from then on this Snapdragon 870 is an absolute beast. And the screen kicks ass. I don't use the camera often but for the few times I need it, it still looks quite good for my needs.
I got mine for 285€.
The sticker was backwards because many people love to take mirror selfies, and the that inverted sticker will show the name of the company clearly, so the sticker was mirrored.
The day i get ads in my phone, i am throwing it in someone's face.

Right to be honest with everyone, I still misses the MI A1 and MI A3. I used to have the MI A1 and clearly I had no problem back then, then I upgraded to the MI A3 and now I'm using samsungS20. However, the pure android one experience seems to be the best thing I've ever experienced in my entire life

I have had this phone for around a year now. Cost me £170 and for that money I am really pleased. Yes it's a bit plastic looking but with a decent case this isn't noticed. The ads do only crop up when installing a app but only for a few seconds. The screen lag I haven't really seen (the settings can be switch between 60 and 120). The memory of the 64gb can be expanded with a SD card but be aware that apps can't be freely moved to the card. Overall for the price it's a great phone and well worth the money
The ability to switch them off rather easily is fine for me. MIUI 12 is massively underrated. It has a ton of features that I used many apps for in past.

IDK if this is the same on paper as the POCO X3 Pro 8/256, which I got for USD 220.00 (equivalent in Philippine Pesos), but of all the phones I've ever had, this by far has exceeded my expectations at its price range. I didn't know it had ads, until I realized that I may haver turned that off in my phone upon setting it up. Many users are not happy with it, and are expecting so much more at its price point, but for me, it really is a bang for the buck.
EDIT: I forgot to add, I am on MIUI 13, Android 12, and I am 100% for it. Super happy.
MIUI 14 made my phone feel like a brand new one, now it doesn't have any ghosting

You should more be concerned about your other behaviour / use data sharing with Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, whatever. Spying credit card or having security concerning this would be a dead sentence for any company. And bad people constantly searching for vulnerabilities
