There are a lot of ways Crytek could go about improving quickplay or replacing it with something better. Usually I agree with you but after 1000 hours in Quickplay I can say that it was the right game mode for the time they have implemented it and still today it's fun, because I come back to play hunt, to get these unique moments very everything goes different and at the end even if I died it was quite funny. But I agree that there could be more fast game modes.
I enjoy Quickplay as a casual solo experience. I know there's nothing on the line so I can just kind of relax. Plus the lootable guns ensures that not everyone is running around with sweatlord loadouts and sometimes you get to see really interesting combos that nobody would play in Bounty Hunt. The only thing I wish they would change is the spawn rate of certain weapons, like the Bomb Lance, for instance. This would force Homereel to use it in the rare event that he plays more Quickplay, and thus give him more footage for the Bomb Lance video that he should make next.
I know it’s against your mo but I did find a Nitro in a quickly this week and got 3 kills. It was very enjoyable using a gun I had only ever picked up once before.
As a new player who looted a Bomb Lance couple days back and absolutely adored it, I couldn't agree more. I hope that the guy who designed it got a raise or something, it's one of the most creative and fun weapon ideas I have ever seen in a shooter :D
I agree. Although mmr is on the line you could say, whether up or down. I rank up sometimes because of doing a lot of QP, and then my bounty hunting can be too hard.
100000% I agree. Would love to see Crytek utilize the beautiful towns and guns for a smaller arena mode. Kind of like in the trailers they are producing. It would be 2 very complimentary modes. No offence to Quickplay lovers out there but the current Quickplay is lacking and not showcasing the best of hunt!
I love Quickplay but I’ll admit the campfest that the end-game becomes can be frustrating. That being said I like the idea of having an Arena mode but I don’t want to end up losing the true solo-queue experience that Quickplay offers. They should redevelop the rules for Quickplay to overcome the camping issues (i.e. removal of trap tools, dedicated spawns for specific weapon types, the new anti-camping mechanic that’s currently in the works).
They should just make a boss like a werewolf that tears down buildings like in Battlefield but it should be in all modes including quickplay and bounty. It should go like this that it smells fear so people who use traps to stay inside and not fight should get points and when there are enough points the boss smells fear and launches an attack and rams the building. Either that or the original water devil concept but now its on land and goes into the building once people stay there a certain amount of time.
@@mishka_playz2477 I’ve entertained the idea of having destructive environments in Hunt but I don’t think it’s possible. They’d need to remake the entire game to support destructible buildings. However, if there was an enemy in the game that invaded a compound and helped breach a building that campers are in that would be cool.
@@willhale3433 absolutely like a mercenary npc which you can give a token to and tell him where to clear out buildings and you can use him as either a bait or just making sure no one is in the building.
What about instead, the person with the wellspring has some sort of debuff if they stay in an area for too long? Mayve they can't be seen precisely with dark sight, but if they camp too much they glow like they do now? I do also like the idea of removing some consumables and tools. No concertina, poison, fire, or choke bombs.
I played mostly quickplay for the first 100 or so hours and was shocked how much easier bounty hunt was when I finally tried it (took me 75 hours or so to win my first QP match). The lack of skill based matchmaking is a REAL problem but I can say that after almost 600 hours I am actually starting to enjoy QP a lot more. I think more game modes for HUNT would be fun but I think QP should stay (with skill based match making as an option)
I must get lucky and only play absolute goobers because I won my first quick play ever, without hitting a single rift and just killing a bunch of people. I win every 5-10 matches or so, and the wins feel much more rewarding than bounty hunt.
@@asketillus8679 Yeah I’ve no idea how they had the experience they had. QP in my experience is a crapshoot between “free soul survivor” and “free hunt dollars”. QP is always a net gain in terms of your economy, whereas you can actively lose Hunt Dollars by playing bounty. I respect all opinions but I’ve absolutely no idea how you can say how QP is more difficult than bouty hunt. A 2v1 fight against a team who chose their load out will always be harder than a 1v1 against someone with a random loadout and it’s frankly absurd to assert the opposite.
Same here, but only for the first like 50 hours. It really helped me overcome my fear of getting into fights and actually feel confident traversing the bayou
My biggest problem with QP is the not active MMR but sill counting MMR. Playing QP as a 3-4 Star basically boosts my MMR to a place I don't belong. While the High Star players only can lose their MMR (intentional or not) if they face other high players, they don't lose or win much MMR, but if they die to a lower player they lose a lot of MMR. While the lower player gets a lot of MMR, even if he just got "lucky". Both leads to Bounty Hunt lobbies with players outside their regular Skill rating and can get frustrating, especially for the lower player who now has to face more competent enemies. But because they now count as equal for the MMR system, he needs to lose more often to fall back to the Skill lvl he belongs.
I've been thinking about this same thing for a while now. I think what's bad about quickplay is that it's supposed to be quick, and it is not. It should be a less risky, less frustrating solo experience where you blow off some steam, but the map is so big and so crowded that it is much more chaotic than bounty hunt, so your game sense goes off the window, and as you said, there is no sbmm so it is a gamble both with the weapons and the players you are facing, and you die with one misstep, it is almost designed to make the player paranoid. I like quickplay as a concept, but it should be confined in a smaller zone, and with a better loadout system. Hunt is about planning, and playing around your weapons strength, but quickplay disregards that in its current form, while not adding anything more fun about it.
I don't think I can say anything bad about Quickplay because it's how I first learned to get good, watching people that dunked on me with significantly better play, before I ever got into Twitch/YT vids on Hunt, etc. I know that's not for everyone, but I really enjoyed going up against people that are just outright better than me and learning to overcome.
An additional Quickplay Protip, is even if you die as the Wellspring you keep whatever money you earned via it. Same thing applies for the rifts, IIRC. I tend to look at it more as a no risk, high reward type thing to jump in and... have a quick match. Get free money, free gear and have fun if you've not got mates around to play.
I also think the sheer amount of dual weild weapons in quickplay just ruins the experience. As soon as i get the trophy for closing rifta, I'm never touching it again. I honestly think theres no justification for quickplay existing. All it does is dillute the matchmaking pool unnecessarily.
Wish there was a gamemode that was a mix of the two. You(and your team) still go after the bounty target against other teams but you enter with nothing and have to find your gear around the map like quickplay, and if you are able to extract with the tokens then you get to keep the character and gear.
I try to use quickplay as a warm up but the past few games I have been spawning with a hand crossbow and headshotted in the first compound before I can pick up any weapons
As a fan of gunfight in mw2019, I think hunt's version of that could be amazing. Seems like a fun Idea I don't usually play quickplay because I usually want to play with my friends instead of alone so an alternative might be cool.
as a casual new player. i think it would be nice to have PVE only game mode too. probably like a horde mode with a team like Man Vs Machine on TF2. would help newbies to get used to aiming if ever.
There are the trials, its not a horde mode but it is a solo pve only part of the game that essentially introduces you to all the pve in the game which its not like there is all that much to begin with, the pve in the game is incredibly easy and is more so just small obstacle then any realy problem to encounter in the game I dont think a horde mode would be beneficial or fun in any sense, all mobs in the game have a weakness to exploit and all you need to do is learn that inwhich again theres like 6 different types of mobs so it wont take any more then a couple of hours
i always wanted a more pvp mode for hunt, just like the "showdownmode" you suggested More ideas: 3-4 teams figth for one boss in a smaller part of the map, maybe 2-4 compounds. aka mini bounty mode tbh very cliche idea, but Free-for-all, deathmatch withing smaller coumpounds and smaller teams. Dont get me wrong, we all love a good bounty game, but Quickplay feels out of place and should be used for something greater
This is a garbage idea and would ruin the game. You want it cause you're an impatient little nerd. And it WILL lead the game down a terrible path... like having deathmatch
I would like a smaller map from time to time, with like 4 or 9 compounds. But such a 2vs2 duel mode, or deathmatch... I would probably NEVER play. And the reason is that I'm not actually a fps player, Hunt offers so much strategy options that are so intriguing, but quickplay is already a dumbed down version in terms of these options and that's why I don't like it, and deathmatches would be even worse.
800 hundred hours of Hunt and never played a single Quickplay match. Really wish for a Realism Mode with no HUD, no bullet indicators and no health bars. Luckly Crytek allow us to do this manually with the HUD settings. Keeps the thrill kicking.
1. I would start off with not throwing like all immolater and hellhounds at my spawn. 2. Make the map a bit smaller, like cut off the outer compounds of the maps especially DeSalle. 3. Make the wellspring absorb based on movement. If you move ( walk, running ) the wellspring goes as normal but sitting and crouching absorbed slower. 4. Block a small part of the compound that you were in to like an out of circle area.
I don't want Quickplay to go away. I like it (sometimes) because it allows me to play Hunt solo. The camping would happen with a solo bounty hunt too, but in QP this is limited by everyone else seeing the wellspring holder in darksight. I can easily find their location and try to use my throwables or wallbang them and force them to either die or move. That having been said, I do desperately want this showdown mode. I probably wouldn't play it over bounty hunt, but I would play it at times and I think it could attract a lot of new people to the game like some have theorized Arena will for Tarkov. It'll also offer something for me and my Hunt friends to switch to in the moments we just aren't feeling bounty hunt without switching games and having to find something else we can all agree on (which is truly a pain).
I would love a 5v5 or 6v6 game mode where its a small map( so 3 compounds with a world boarder or custom fence/edge that crytek makes , or even QP circle. Everyone has random load outs on spawn, or have 5-10 preset load outs to choose from each spawn. So 3 compound, with 3 flags at each. You win by capping all 3 flags at the same time for x amount of time, or drain the enemy teams tickets. I think this would be so much fun honestly. I love your idea as well, I've had the similar idea as well for ages, and I would love the gunfight game mode into hunt as well. Imagine a fort fight with random load outs each round, ughhh would be amazing
I think it may be interesting to have each rift give a a little bit of energy, if you get 150 energy you save your soul and extract, but at 50 energy you get the same kind of lightning that a bounty holder has, if you loot someone’s body you get their energy. I think this would stop the camping that is common in quick play and keep everything moving
This is the first suggestion I've seen for actually changing the QP mechanics in a way that could help, as opposed to adding other mechanics in or presenting a whole new game mode. Sounds awesome.
You may be the only YT/Streamer/CCreator that actually talks about the lack of SBMM as a bad thing instead of the holy grail of pubstomping glory like every other streamer. Kudos for recognizing why SBMM is a good thing for newer players and player retention. \m/
I always thought hunt would benefit from a death match mode especially for some of the bigger compounds like port reeker, pelican Island, stillwater prison, and stone mill. It just makes sense to some degree add some respawning mobs some lore and bam mr chery is collecting sacrifices in an arena and handing out prizes base on purformance in an elimination style game
IMO, the easy steps to make QP better are : - QP should not affect your MMR, - no more concertina or traps, - the zone should be smaller and with a chance to be outside of compounds. Also, before adding QP, Crytek did an event with solo only bounty hunt. That was a lot of fun.
@@sk4rrt Like Home, I complain about de camp fest that QP is. That's why I think that concertina and traps should be removed. And it's (I think) a easy patch on the dev side. For the zone, it's also to counter the camp fest that I think it would be interresting to have it outside of compounds.
@@dRoscoAZ I think it also plays into what I assumed the whole point of quickplay was; quickly getting into a game with no risk. Basicly Scav mode from tarkov. Right now it feels like a tacked on side game, kinda like some sort of holiday event.
@@Drebin-8427 I'd tend to agree. Haven't played Tarkov yet. I heard it's harder to go from Hunt to Tarkov than the other way round. I'll have to check out some videos
I really like the idea of locked into a compound with a matching random loadouts. But I feel like we’ve been talking about that red wall from training forever and they’ve never implemented it elsewhere. Here’s hoping.
for me the best about hunt is same as you its the rush that you get when those intense gun fights take place where you dont know how long is it gonna last
about the problems of bounty hunt mode, i always felt that there should be a way to move faster than usual, lsomething that maybe exposes you a lot, or makes enough noise to warn the entire server, but it sucks when you spawn on the opossite corner of the bounty, hell sometimes there is even an extraction point and they can extract even before you reach them
They could just put something on the train tracks in the map. That way the movement is fast but it is preset so you can't just freely go compound to compound really fast and there would be the risk of getting ambushed on the tracks.
Everytime I play quick play I'm always dealing with someone with a shotgun in a small area and can't do much about it since I can't find any dynamite. I think there could be many fun game modes that can be added to the game. Like infection, group of two random stuff and the other group with axes or knifes or something to kill them and make them into zombies and kill other people.
The most recent thing that i hate about Hunt is the new map being too big -Big map take alot more time to create -Less chance of running into another team for random firefight -If the boss is banished at the edge of the map next to extraction point it's pretty much gone cause the time it take to run there
Long story short, Hunt Showdown desperately needs more modes of play. More than ever is playing the game in itself tiresome (games almost feeling identical in higher ranked games; spitzer, snipers, camping, 40 min in a match just to extract with nothing etc.) I think about things like horde mode that make standard enemies so much fun to fight with friends, custom lobbies even, servers in general with random rules that make combat more interesting.
I think having it be best of 3 would be best, also a rematch button too. That would allow you to have more time with a team you particularly like fighting and also let you commit to some more outlandish tactics that you might never try in a actual match since you spent 20 minutes running across the map. and im sure private matches are a no brainer but crytek hates us.
I enjoy Quickplay a lot for the most part; fun, carefree meme times but it’s definitely not perfect, I would absolutely be down for a gunfight type mode. Sounds awesome.
Honestly the biggest thing going for Quickplay for a lot of people is the free hunters, even if you lose you get a free shuffle and a free bounty hunter. Heck I bet some people run quick play and die ASAP just for that.
Brand new to the community, just played my first bounty yesterday with a buddy who has been bugging me about it forever lol. I think this is an awesome idea. I used to play R6 Siege all the time and I felt like that game was seriously needing something like this as well but it didn’t quite fit the gameplay or style. On another hand I think this game would entirely benefit from such a game mode. Let’s get this idea out there!
Can we get a 10 vs 10 player team fight mode? have all 4 bosses on the map, just make the game extreme in all aspects and call it "faction wars" or something to fit it within lore of different factions fighting over the bayou. I don't care if the servers burn down let me have a 10 man avto firing line.
All that sounds great, I think it would even be quite easy to implement this game mode as u said basegame already has all the ingredients. I would do two options with new "deathmatch" quickplay, there would be arms race or gungame whichever you call it, and then there would be a pool of loadouts that people would pick and everyone would have similiar weapons. Like for example if you want to practice lebel, there would be a rifle loadout pool and everyone would have rifles (or specifically bolt action pool) and the gungame version would be great all rounder for everyone to learn all the guns. U get a kill, you move up to more difficult weapon, last one would be throwable melee
I had a game where I got to the rift holder and they barbed every entrance and hid in the building. He was screaming about how people gotta push him to win, as wellspring had less than a minute left. After a few failed attempts to headshot and try to push in without any explosives, I listen to his incessant screaming as I turned around from his doorway and killed another player pushing way as the last second hit the timer. I still wonder how many kills he actually scored, or if everyone else was too bored to try and push him and killed each other instead.
I'm part of the group that learned a lot from quick play, I started solo with no one I know playing hunt, I first played bounty hunt solo and as expected got destroyed every round, even a round in which the last two traded I picked the bounties and died to hounds+bees after playing quick play I got to try most guns without the fear of bankruptcy, 1v1s helped me get a chance to learn the gunplay, and the threat of losing without the wellspring made me a man with nothing to lose and much more aggressive in pushing campers, which worked out more times than I expected. I won a few quick play games before I extracted with a single bounty, and afterwards I switched to bounty hunt and win a decent percentage of my games.
"spawn far away from the wellspring" sorry what? the wellspring is the 4th rift somebody activates. it is not a single point on the map like the boss in bounty hunt. whoever activates his 4th rift first, activates the wellspring and "king of the hill" i used to dislike the mode to as i didnt understand it, but then i had to play it to get an achievement. i learned to enjoy it. still prefer bounty hunt, but i had so many sick fights in quickplay. and yes by that i also mean campfests, which were super intense for me.
The wellspring is predetermined to exist in 1 of 4 compounds. When you grab a clue, part of the map disappears. It's frustrating because when you spawn in Catfish Grove and the map makes you go to Reynard because the wellspring holder had a better spawn and got the wellspring in 3 minutes
Yes! I've been saying this same thing for a while. Give me a "shoot-out" mode where we are constrained to a random compound. This would be so nice, because I feel like there are a ton of compounds that never see total use. For instance, they just added the underground mines into the game and I think I went through them twice? The reasoning behind it is because the bounty and clues are never centered around down there. A mode like shoot-out would give you more reason to explore all the compounds, rotate within them in and really get to know all the nooks and crannies. Plus, as you said before, the game mode would be nice and quick. That would be great for warmups. Half the time when I go into quickplay, I just shoot everything and don't care how much noise I make because I need to warm up my aim not my ability to run across a huge ass map.
LOVE GUNFIGHT. My brother and I would play splitscreen on the couch. Such a great 2v2 mode something like that in hunt would be just fantastic. A great switchup from Bounty so both never get old!
Another (altough also lesser) con not mentioned of Quickplay is that you can't do specific summons AT ALL: get kills with legendary weapon X While ofc you can't do QP specific summons in bounty hunt either it just doesnt make sense that you're locked out of them if you cant or dont want to play bounty hunt for whatever reason.
Love this idea--not necessarily as a replacement for quickplay, but as an addition. I'm a new player and have been using quickplay to try to improve. Quickplay definitely allows you to get into gunfights more frequently than Bounty Hunt, but the difference is not as dramatic as one might expect. Both modes can be very frustrating for new players as you wander around the map for 10 minutes for a few seconds worth of gunplay experience.
I personally would prefer if Option 1. Showdown gave you for example round 1 100 credits round 2 300 credits round 3 600 credits round 4 1000 credits baseline everyone has Nagant revolver (you can spend money on some other pistol if you want) I feel like since the weapon balance is as good as it is we don't need to give everyone the same loadout Option 2. Give everyone the same 3 loadout options with approximately the same cost (you can play around with the costs if needed by giving cheaper weapons better sidearms) Lebel, Mosin or Berthier Caldwell rival, Vetterli or Centennial and whatever else you can come up with maybe sometimes you don't have an option and everyone just gets Nitro or even sparks sniper (while being locked inside a compound) With either option you have some player agency with the option to learn new guns, test something out, try a different approach
I feel like the only con that I really mind in quickplay is how you can win by waiting at the end. Every other problem is either present in bounty hunt or Battle Royale games in general. There is that mechanic where kills reduce the wellspring, what if the last bit of the wellspring had to be extracted by getting a kill? That way all matches would have a proper ending with a kill, without forcing you to wipe the server.
I think a big help to fix the end game would be the zone the player has to stay in moves. Or they have checkpoints they need to touch every minute. Might need give them extra health or another advantage to make it possible.
Totally agree with you - but imo the worst part of quickplay is the cheaters who try to spawn into a quickplay match with friends and use the after death killcam to easily win any quickplay round, i encounter it nearly daily nowadays
ngl, i had a similar idea once and talked with a few friends about it we talked about how it should go, what compounds would make sense and even talked about custom maps for that mode. and we talked about the rewards for a showdown match my idea would be its a best of 3 showdown, 2 trios in either a bigger compound or small custom maps. -completely random loadouts after each round. (melee tool, medkit and maybe 1 vitality shot should be fixed and no traps) -No burning dead bodies (healthbars dont get lost after dying or maybe remove revives) Rewards could range from -Bloodline XP -hunt dollars or an idea i had, that the winning team can get one of the 3 random loadouts by choice completely free, kinda like the "soul survivor" thing some sort of a wellspring area gets opened up inside a smaller circle and the boundary of the maps gets smaller continously. you have to stay inside the wellspring area for 10 seconds to win a round without killing eachother (gets blocked by enemies)
Insurgency has a co-op mode where you take a point and get a random weapon from a gun box. Maybe that would work in a small 2v2 mode with different tiers the further you go in.
I tried QP a few times and hated it. No matchmaking MMR and the randomness of the weapons/pick ups were terrible. Plus it always came down to camping in a building with traps that some how everyone but me was able to find in the rush to get to the Wellspring.
I play a lot of quickplay and more often than not I see ppl running away with the wellspring rather than purely camping. Which IMO is more frustrating than just dealing with a shotgun camper because they run away and wait for the timer to drop.
Quick play is a fun change of pace from the bounty hunt mode. There's nothing wrong with having a timer that encourages players to push. Having a free hunter is a nice change and the chaotic nature of the ffa when trying to hunt down the wellspring player is interesting. Not having SBMM is a pro not a con. SBMM is not fun. Its more interesting to find a challenging opponent than to be punished for every kill you get. At least it's a casual way to play when you don't have a team and don't want to play sweaty af all the time. Also the camping problem is an issue with hunt in general. There are too many effective traps in the game. Trap metas aren't really that fun.
Whenever i play quickplay, usually the only guns i can find are always T1 pistols with stock or T1 dual pistols. Never have i ever found a long rifle or a shotgun and whenever I get a wellspring am getting bombrushed by rivals, spectes, mosins and uppercuts against my silenced nagant and nagant brawlers and chaosbomb consumables. The best weapon I've ever had was Bornheim and that one time i spawned with hand crossbow.
I've often thought doing new modes during events would be a good testing ground. I like the idea of a "Gun-Game" mode for free-for-all play, starting with the expensive guns and working through the list of weapons and ending and throwing axes/knives and melee. Fun, fast, good for warming up, and lets players try an abundance of weapons. Certain compounds already have a great set up for this and your "Showdown" mode; Port Reeker and Lower DeSalle are both excellent as standalone shooter maps. Quick Play is fun but I think using events to try out new game modes (which other games do!) is an easy idea.
I think as you said a faster pace, tighter spaced game mode would be ideal. Something like MW 2019’s gunfight. Retaining the idea from quick play with keeping the hunter if you win aspect but having it focussed purely on gunplay and PVP in a confined area. It would introduce new players to the gunplay system, give them something less daunting than being dropped right into bounty hunt and I reckon it’d be a fun way to play hunt; especially if you didn’t have much time or just wanted to shoot some folks and weren’t bothered about the PVE aspect
I had the exact same thinking a few months ago when i was struggling in this awsome but difficult game. I love hunt showdown but even if there IS now a shooting stand to train aim and movement, the actual gun fight are hard to master and need more practice. Quickplay allows a good training but to my experience, its more often somd close combat shotgun than anything else. Something like an arena/3v3 random loadout would be awsome for new players who would like to understand who gunfights works and great for experienced players to keep training before long matches un bounty hunt... Great video 😊👌
I’ve wanted a mode like this for years. I love the gun play in hunt but I don’t play often enough to be as good as many others. Sometimes I just want to run in and hash it out in a quick 30 mins.
If they added a PVE only mode that would be cool, but if they added a solos only minor contract gamemode where you hunt unique variants of standard mobs (a stationary big hive, alpha bloodhound and a pack with it, whatever) to get mini bounties using free characters, it would be a pretty cool replacement to quick play. They could even include the mini bosses in standard play for quests or solos or consolation prizes for teams who cant get to the bounty.
The wellspring isn’t a spawn on the map that you have to find. The wellspring is the first person to find their fourth clue. Just thought I would put that out there since it was the first negative you argued.
100% agree with all your points and would also love to see a Gunfight mode! Sometimes you want to warm-up or just jump straight into intense blasting. I see no downsides to including it as an option.
How have you managed to learn to enjoy randoms? I find it a very frustrating experience. If I queue for teams, I do it for teamplay, yet the vast majority of randoms make plays alone and disconnect five milliseconds after their attempt at wiping a duo on their own ends up in getting domed. Is it about setting expectations and do all randoms just not care about a round? Would be nice to at least have a small bonus to extracting with a token just like you do when you're solo.
I can’t really be bothered with quick play I played around 3 of them got 3+ kills each quick play but ultimately lose cause the wellsprings in a basement full of concertina choke bombs and poison. It doesn’t feel good losing to traps over actual gunskill and positioning.
I agree wholeheartedly. They should rework it to a "Showdown" mode. Where its a 3v3 pvp only single compound mode everyone spawns with randomly set T1 to T3 gear depending on Bloodline level. And teams are balanced accordingly to MMR. Surviving team all exit with whatever they had on them. looting can be disabled. It lets us get into a quick game and lets us practice the PVP aspect of the game. To balance the offset mode so people don't just play exclusively this mode, they can add a simple 20-30mins cooldown, just like scavs from tarkov. Finally, the 3V3 allows for faster queue times as well
There is a few ways they could go about the PvP mode, everyone getting the same random weapons at the start is a good option, but if we could get a weapon point system like call of duty uses. Everyone gets s med kit and a mele, but everything else cost points and you could only bring in a loadout with so many points, so no uppercut and avto, you could also let us use points to buy traits. Also, for the end of the stalemate matches you could have a wellspring spawn like you mentioned or you could have more and more AI spawn in from the edge of the compound that move towards the compound. Or you could give all remaining hunters endless darksight for the rest of the round if it drags on. I’ve been trying to get a TH-cam to talk about this or contact the devs and talk about it. Everyone I’ve talked to says a pvp mode that takes place in a single coin pound sounds stupid. I was like “WHAT?!?” I 100% agree, Hunt is my fav game but it can be a walking sim and it’s no fun shift W’ing everywhere to have a fight ended right away. I want to get right back into another fight when it ends. This mode can offer that. I don’t think hunters would be able to earn hunt dollars like you do in quick play, just a free mode for pvp, you can earn bloodline XP and unlock new variants using weapons in the mode. I could see this being the staple mode in Hunt showdown, even give us a ranking system with seasons, seasonal rewards like charms or skins for getting gold or silver that season, people would go nuts!
I want a 6v6 where all 12 spawn randomly around the map and there is only 1 boss on the map. I think the larger team dynamic would be fun. A side option for this type of 6v6 game mode would be having two bosses and each team has to kill the enemy teams boss and extract before the opposing side to win. This would encourage larger scale skirmishes and team building strategies
The only thing that pisses me off is that in quickplay you hear the theme song "hum" when a quickplay starts, but you don't hear it when you do a regular ass bounty hunt.
the problem with more modes would be that it would already split the playerbase more. Hunt simply doesn't have enough players to support it, sadly. Adding leaderboards for these modes with competing rewards and having them only be for events would probably work, however. I would LOVE to see them test this idea with an event.
@@MrBandoftheHawk Who knows. They're pretty good at listening to their community. But i think the community would rather see a new map and/or boss. Or new monsters.
@@Simon-cr5ff well that's the thing. I think a lot more people would be upset if they got rid of QP instead of happy about it. The only reason I can justify QP in the first place is that it's an option for all solo gameplay in hunt while BH is for teams. adding a new team mode just doesn't make sense for how small the community is.
@@MrBandoftheHawk Doesn't have to force premade teams but it could atleast be a possibility. If they make a "better" alternative than Qp i don't think people would be upset.
I came in mad (uh oh, the shotgun slanderer is back at it), but you're pretty right. I like the solo only aspect of quickplay (since 90% of my games im solo anyway), but mainly I do it for quick games waiting for a friend, or to do summons. The hole up in a building end game meta is just extra frustrating when the wellspring haver has 0 incentive to move
My problem with Quickplay is largely related to no SBMM. I'm trash at the game and always play with friends. The few times I've tried to play Quickplay when they're not on, if I even THINK I hear another player I immediately freeze because chances are I'll just die immediately if I search them out. So I sit and wait until the match ends, having wasted 15 minutes or so of my time in game for nothing. "But you don't lose anything so who cares?" It's not fun to lose over and over again. I uninstalled the game for about a week when my friends first got me back into it because as soon as the shooting started, I would die and wasn't having fun. At this time I have nearly 200 hours in and a KDA of 0.44 up from 0.27 when I started up again. I don't mind losing an intense firefight or being outplayed by positioning and can admit when I made mistakes that cost me the game. But the whole point of video games is to have fun and until the skill level issue is addressed, I won't be playing Quickplay because I don't have any fun playing it.
I was sceptical at the beginning. But I could totally get behind having a gunfight mode in Hunt. Could also throw in some randomly spawning hell hounds too🤣.
I'd take that team vs team arena mode over quickplay for sure, or just anything that's a more condensed, fast paced pvp experience. Anything to just get in and out for a quick gunfight would be nice.
I honestly really would love some sort of classic TDM, 12v12 or whatever. After 200 hrs in Hunt I still suck in duels and my gunplay is so-so. In Quickplay the lack of SBMM gets me killed too fast too often, but some sort of TDM with respawns to just focus on shooting shooting shooting would be pretty neat in my mind.
There are a lot of ways Crytek could go about improving quickplay or replacing it with something better. Tell me your thoughts!

What about... Gunfight?
Private matches seems amazing
Also it's very fun
I know it’s against your mo but I did find a Nitro in a quickly this week and got 3 kills. It was very enjoyable using a gun I had only ever picked up once before.
Nice sneaky bomb lance video request
As a new player who looted a Bomb Lance couple days back and absolutely adored it, I couldn't agree more. I hope that the guy who designed it got a raise or something, it's one of the most creative and fun weapon ideas I have ever seen in a shooter :D
I agree. Although mmr is on the line you could say, whether up or down. I rank up sometimes because of doing a lot of QP, and then my bounty hunting can be too hard.
Heck yeah, give me Showdown mode in a confined Upper or Lower DeSalle.
I would be down for that. The saloon is perfect for a shootout!
What could we do to start a message for crytek? #gunfightmode
capture the flag in upper and lower de salle :D
100000% I agree. Would love to see Crytek utilize the beautiful towns and guns for a smaller arena mode. Kind of like in the trailers they are producing.
It would be 2 very complimentary modes. No offence to Quickplay lovers out there but the current Quickplay is lacking and not showcasing the best of hunt!
WE GO DESALLE
For me QP has the Bounty Hunt PVP kind of feeling but because it‘s way shorter I can play one or two matches before going to a dinner or something
@@McGreevious_ yea i usually play qp whenever im having a bad day in hunt so i can have fun. bounty hunt is so much more challenging imo.
Yeah they should honestly be separate ranks (or something of that nature)
I miss when mmr wasnt a thing and anybody coukd play with anybody.
Git gud
@@neogenesis7706 . matchmaking has always been a thing. They just didn't tell you your rank prior
@Sigma Eastwood :(. This explains some things.
You(and your team) still go after the bounty target against other teams but you enter with nothing and have to find your gear around the map like quickplay, and if you are able to extract with the tokens then you get to keep the character and gear.
so just quickplay with friends xD
@@relyse93 but there’s still the boss enemies so you’ll have to extract to save your souls
@@spencerlangston1936 i see, like hunt meets battle royal... shouldnt be too expensive for them to rent a few more servers, lets start a petition xD
There are the trials, its not a horde mode but it is a solo pve only part of the game that essentially introduces you to all the pve in the game which its not like there is all that much to begin with, the pve in the game is incredibly easy and is more so just small obstacle then any realy problem to encounter in the game I dont think a horde mode would be beneficial or fun in any sense, all mobs in the game have a weakness to exploit and all you need to do is learn that inwhich again theres like 6 different types of mobs so it wont take any more then a couple of hours
i always wanted a more pvp mode for hunt, just like the "showdownmode" you suggested
More ideas:
3-4 teams figth for one boss in a smaller part of the map, maybe 2-4 compounds. aka mini bounty mode
tbh very cliche idea, but Free-for-all, deathmatch withing smaller coumpounds and smaller teams.
Dont get me wrong, we all love a good bounty game, but Quickplay feels out of place and should be used for something greater
I like your ideas, just for christ sake not a deathmatch mode.
@@itshanhan1 maybe not deathmatch, but as home said, if we get private matches , we could try every game mode imaginary
This is a garbage idea and would ruin the game. You want it cause you're an impatient little nerd. And it WILL lead the game down a terrible path... like having deathmatch
@@noxcod jesus, relax.
I like these suggestions I think it would make for a better experience.
@@broadd001 would still be a lot of work for a small team.👍
I respect your bravery for mentioning Apex Legends & CoD in the same sentence as Hunt, the tryhards are gonna love that
😂
Private match dosnt help solo players. nor qould be a good replacement for QP.
In my 300+ hours of hunt I have only played around 5 matches of this
I would love a 5v5 or 6v6 game mode where its a small map( so 3 compounds with a world boarder or custom fence/edge that crytek makes , or even QP circle.
Sounds better than running around for 7 minutes trying to find the boss and then getting one shot from a camper in a bush.
Shoutout from Ranger Brewskie! I watch most of your vids man. Keep it up!
We need more game modes for this game. Like team deathmatch and zombie horde mode (where you go through waves of zombies until the end if you survive)
It would help me improve my aim lol
Hell yeah. If you can get a petition started to add a ‘showdown’ mode you’ll have loads of people signing up. One here.
+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1^^^^^^^^
IMO, the easy steps to make QP better are :
- QP should not affect your MMR,
- no more concertina or traps,
- the zone should be smaller and with a chance to be outside of compounds.
Also, before adding QP, Crytek did an event with solo only bounty hunt. That was a lot of fun.
tbh i disagree with everything accept that QP should not affect mmr. I find so much players mmr dropping so they can get easy kills in bounty hunt.
@@sk4rrt Like Home, I complain about de camp fest that QP is. That's why I think that concertina and traps should be removed. And it's (I think) a easy patch on the dev side.
For the zone, it's also to counter the camp fest that I think it would be interresting to have it outside of compounds.
I'd love a gunfight mode but what if in the meantime they just made the map for quick play half as large?
That would be great. Thats my least favorite part of QP. Walking 🚶♂️
I'll have to check out some videos
i like your idea of the new quickplay a lot; and like you mentioned, I dont think it would step on the main game modes toes at all
I really like the idea of locked into a compound with a matching random loadouts.
The most recent thing that i hate about Hunt is the new map being too big
-Big map take alot more time to create
-Less chance of running into another team for random firefight
-If the boss is banished at the edge of the map next to extraction point it's pretty much gone cause the time it take to run there
Long story short, Hunt Showdown desperately needs more modes of play.
This idea with the random shared weapons from MW would be soooooo cool. I love the gun variety in this game
How did you get that tiny hipfire crosshair at ~ 7:00 . I could swear the spitfire crosshair is quite a bit bigger.
100% agree! For me as a newbie quickplay is pure frustration.
100% agree that a gunfight type of mode would be amazing. Fully support.
I would absolutely love it if they added a gunfight mode.
Private matches could also help content creators make their own small tournaments or challenges which would be so fun to play or watch
I'm part of the group that learned a lot from quick play, I started solo with no one I know playing hunt, I first played bounty hunt solo and as expected got destroyed every round, even a round in which the last two traded I picked the bounties and died to hounds+bees
after playing quick play I got to try most guns without the fear of bankruptcy, 1v1s helped me get a chance to learn the gunplay, and the threat of losing without the wellspring made me a man with nothing to lose and much more aggressive in pushing campers, which worked out more times than I expected.
I won a few quick play games before I extracted with a single bounty, and afterwards I switched to bounty hunt and win a decent percentage of my games.
"spawn far away from the wellspring"
sorry what?
the wellspring is the 4th rift somebody activates. it is not a single point on the map like the boss in bounty hunt. whoever activates his 4th rift first, activates the wellspring and "king of the hill"
i used to dislike the mode to as i didnt understand it, but then i had to play it to get an achievement. i learned to enjoy it. still prefer bounty hunt, but i had so many sick fights in quickplay. and yes by that i also mean campfests, which were super intense for me.
the point being, if the wellspring holder is far away, you just have to spend so much time running there. Comparing that to bounty hunt too
The wellspring is predetermined to exist in 1 of 4 compounds.
A gunfight mode is soooo dope, i mean it happens in compounds anyway and the PvP gameplay is what makes me love this game
Another (altough also lesser) con not mentioned of Quickplay is that you can't do specific summons AT ALL: get kills with legendary weapon X
While ofc you can't do QP specific summons in bounty hunt either it just doesnt make sense that you're locked out of them if you cant or dont want to play bounty hunt for whatever reason.
I personally would prefer if
Option 1.
Showdown gave you for example
round 1 100 credits
round 2 300 credits
round 3 600 credits
round 4 1000 credits
baseline everyone has Nagant revolver (you can spend money on some other pistol if you want)
I feel like since the weapon balance is as good as it is we don't need to give everyone the same loadout
Option 2. Give everyone the same 3 loadout options with approximately the same cost (you can play around with the costs if needed by giving cheaper weapons better sidearms)
Lebel, Mosin or Berthier
Caldwell rival, Vetterli or Centennial
and whatever else you can come up with
maybe sometimes you don't have an option and everyone just gets Nitro or even sparks sniper (while being locked inside a compound)
With either option you have some player agency with the option to learn new guns, test something out, try a different approach
You're right on every single point, we want that damn gunfight mode
Glad to see that I'm not the only one who thought a gunfight mode would be a good idea
Well the problem about spawning far away is the wellspring location spawns when someone gets four so it’s not a set location
Totally agree with you - but imo the worst part of quickplay is the cheaters who try to spawn into a quickplay match with friends and use the after death killcam to easily win any quickplay round, i encounter it nearly daily nowadays
ngl, i had a similar idea once and talked with a few friends about it
we talked about how it should go, what compounds would make sense and even talked about custom maps for that mode.
and we talked about the rewards for a showdown match
my idea would be
its a best of 3 showdown, 2 trios in either a bigger compound or small custom maps.
-completely random loadouts after each round. (melee tool, medkit and maybe 1 vitality shot should be fixed and no traps)
-No burning dead bodies (healthbars dont get lost after dying or maybe remove revives)
Rewards could range from
-Bloodline XP
-hunt dollars
or an idea i had, that the winning team can get one of the 3 random loadouts by choice completely free, kinda like the "soul survivor" thing
some sort of a wellspring area gets opened up inside a smaller circle and the boundary of the maps gets smaller continously.
you have to stay inside the wellspring area for 10 seconds to win a round without killing eachother (gets blocked by enemies)
Sorry for bad orthograph, im not natural english speaker 😅
Showdown sounds great. Perfect warm up and then cool down with a thoughtful bounty hunt.
They could even include the mini bosses in standard play for quests or solos or consolation prizes for teams who cant get to the bounty.
love the gunplay idea. with the occasional pistols only mixed in.
I was literally just talking to my hunt buddies about a gunfight mode. There are already so many maps to play on if you just do a single compound.
Would love to see a mode like this. You can learn the wepons and the compounds
A gunfight mode is actually a genius idea and I'm all for it.
We need this! Be our voice, Home!
a gunfight focused arena mode would be sick
the problem with more modes would be that it would already split the playerbase more. Hunt simply doesn't have enough players to support it, sadly. Adding leaderboards for these modes with competing rewards and having them only be for events would probably work, however. I would LOVE to see them test this idea with an event.
They shouldn't add more. They should just change Qp to something fun.
@@Simon-cr5ff I don't see that happening tbh
"But you don't lose anything so who cares?"
It's not fun to lose over and over again.
Quickplay is easy guns, hunters and money! What's not to like?!
I would love a gunfight mode but I really want a good solo mode , whether that's bounty hunt solo , reworking quick play etc
I think quickplay is a great way to teach you how to attack, get over gear fear, and how important consumables are.
If you are the wellspring, spice it up by running away once you hear 2+ hunters outside
