Personally my issue with the "dark magic/occult" leaning that recent hunt skins have focused on is that a really cool part of the hunt aesthetic is that you're fighting supernatural boss monsters...with guns. The mundane battling the magical just has a really nice ring to it and characters like Sheriff Hardin, Hawkshaw Jack, Redshirt, the Hillbilly, etc. offer an excellent juxtaposition to characters like Frau Perchta, The Revenant, Gar, The Bone Doctor. The problem isn't that these characters exist, just that there seems to be a higher number of newer supernatural skins than mundane ones.
the thing you said about with the simplified game mode is something i would really like. I would suggest something like winfield+conversion no special ammo plus melee weapon, meds, and chockes. or something really simple because i really hate dying to fanning chain pistol etc.
I think that if people are having problems with the occult and supernatural aspects of Hunt Showdown, then that is a shame. Building on what you said in your answer to the 4th question: Hunt has had supernatural roots since before early access, when it was still known as Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age. "Cosmic horror bounty hunting in the Gilded Age" is the setting of the game, and I love it. When I first bought Hunt, I loved the setting, the "high risk-high reward" gameplay loop, and the different representations of character archetypes in the bayou. 1000 hours later, I keep playing the game because I love how much creativity and care goes into crafting seasonal tweaks to said gameplay. I personally welcome it all, but I can sympathize with what you call the "Hunt Conservatives" that want a simpler game mode.
Yea the magic stuff and southern gothic emphasis is what makes hunt unique beyond a cowboy game. Its half the reason I got into the game, it gave a context to the actions I made in the game that made the gameplay feel deeper because I was able to construct a whole story in my head about the world.
They should just throw a deadeye scope on the regular pax, keeping it as a one-slot weapon. That would give the pax a totally unique variant and increase the value of the stockless weapon traits
I was thinking a stockless, long-barrel version of the Pax could be fun. Make for an interesting 2 slot weapon, trading increased range for increased recoil or something
Actually, there are cursed perks in the game already. If you take Bulletgrubber with Bertier, you will see Crips' hand gang signs instead of a reloading animation.
Yeah... the poor pax already had very few reasons to pick it over the Scottfield... It needs some love indeed. I liked that it's special ammo selection was a neat stand out quality.
strongly dissagree - 80 bucks for 330 velocity makes it compete in a completely different weight class than the scotty. If you want to compare the scottfield (esp the swift) to a gun that fills it's same role, you should look at the harmy or the officer, but the pax competes with heavyweights like the uppercut remarkably well, even ignoring price.
I'm actually really surprised they didn't give the pax HV ammo instead of the Scottfield. It would've been a great way for the pax to stand apart from it.
I think a Pax with a simple extended barrel would be a nice addition, just a bit more effective range and bullet velocity. The Peacemaker had several versions of varying lengths so I'd like to see a longer version.
Ik mostly have a pax on me as a secondary, it’s amazing with fmj. Thank you for giving this revolver a bit more love. I love the way you commend the vids you do, greetings from a 53 year young Ps5 Hunt player from the Netherlands !
I'd love a Pax Precision and a Pax Precision Deadeye. I think It'd fill a pretty neat niche. Also, there is a Scottfield Precision that kinda fits the Medium Carbine slot, but its slow firing
We don't need more precision pistols. People are already out here getting thumped out by precision deadeye pistols at beyond 50m (which isn't supposed to happen).
honestly would not want to double up of medium ammo precision pistol. Would be cool to see a long barrel model with increased Velocity and damage with higher recoil and worse handling. Calling it the Pax Cavalry after the Colt single action cavalry would be cool
I'm sitting out this event - but. . . . I've probably got more time with a pax than any other gun. It is perfect and has always been perfect. Even if it is not.
NGL as soon as they teased the inspect animation I was hella hyped to see a revolver spin on the pax, after all it's a cowboy shooter and the Pax (Colt .45) is the gun that won the west. Needless to say how dissapointed I was that they missed this opportunity and put more work on a Throwing Knife than in an iconic weapon of the game ...
Would love to see a Pax Buntline as many have suggested previously, over the precision/deadeye variants we already have a ton of. Maybe like an in between uppercut, still medium ammo, a bit more damage, a little bit of a slower re-chamber/load, and better headshot range. The Pax has always been a great longer range pistol thats never perfect at everything but did generally well overall through and through.
I think when it comes to that trait for retrieving thrown weapons, maybe instead have it be an upgraded version of blade seer (call it bladecaller/baldemaster or somthin). And have it work like necro where you have to target the thrown weapon, but it has a faster interaction time (maybe around like 1.5/2 seconds). Would generally be nice and could make for some funny kills where you yank a weapon out of an enemy at like 10m or around there.
I love his videos, the voice is easy to listen to and you can tell he puts a lot into them, the off beat comedy is great too. Whitty is also making great videos too thought I'd give him a plug if you haven't seen his stuff.
Thank you for picking my question, I guess I could have choosen my words better 13:44. How I imagen it would work is when you check darksight the boss icon would start blinking for your teammates too, even if they are not actively in darksight. I agree it probably wouldn't get picked often as a trait though, so maybe just as a general change?
I think the answer to the skins is to create new variants like the viper who has 4, but start making variants of previous event exclusives and other hunters. It would make previous ones stay unique and get those veteran Hunters more options while giving new hunters a chance to collect a hunter missed. This can be applied to other skins too for example the Marshall we could get a younger pre eye patch and and a Deputy Harden etc. Giving new variants to timeless classics, and for quality of life a new recruitment menu so you don't have to scroll 4 at a time to find the Hunter you want to recruit.
Definitely wanting curse/trade-off traits... it would be a good way to shake things up. In order to help clean things up, I would want to cull a lot of traits (iron traits, tomahawk) by either combining them (iron variants) or just making their functionality part of the base player (tomahawk)
they would have had to make traits have pros and cons from the start then. If they added that now no one would take the perks that have downsides over those that are straight upgrades imo.
I'm definitely with you on there being too many status effect ammo types out there on the bayou but I also dislike it from the other side of it. Maybe I just have Challenge burnout in general but I kind of roll my eyes now any time I get two ammo challenges at the same time, often completely conflicting so you can't do them both with the same loadout. I think they need to reduce how often those challenges get rolled, I just want to do a normal loadout now and then.
I was happy when they added more custom ammo types for the pax, and I would like to see the pax get some love but I also don't want it to just mirror the scottfield personally. As much as a faster firing or precision version of the pax could be nice, it'd feel like it's just a slightly different version of the scottfield at that point. I have no idea what other direction could be taken though
@@thekornwulf I think this is a good idea - small scoped handguns are a common gaming trope that would be fun to see replicated, and unlike other suggestions it doesn't just add more variant bloat that nobody will use (scotty precision, nagant precision/deadeye, etc), all while enhancing it's existing unique trait, which isn't ammo variety, but is rather being 80 bucks and having 330 velo and a good headshot range. Adding a scope solidifies that role and differentiates it from the pack without stepping on other niches. Plus, poison ammo is a huge deal for solo players - it's a very consistent way to split teams down to smaller fights that you can take in sequence. Bodyshot one guy with poison and suddenly he can't repeek you, splitting the team down. The scotty didn't need high velo for sure, but that's another discussion.
The Scotfield Precision is so forgotten that its partial reload animation is busted and nobody has noticed. Also HomeReel has not remembered it since he reviewed it so he couldn't think about it when medium pistol carbines where being brought up lol
yeah if this bit is only people complaining that the pax doesn't have new variants it should be at the bottom of the list of guns that could use some new stuff. As you point out there's already a lot of medium slot pistol variants that see very very little use, and adding another wouldn't change anything.
He's right to say there's no medium pistol carbine, precision variants keep the pistol damage drop off and velocity, while carbines (nagant, lemat) have higher velocity and rifle damage curves
For the other content creators our there trying to get a start, know your value statement. I'm a 3-4 star player, so I knew my channel couldn't be about gameplay. I have a background in education and instructional design, so I took that and leaned hard into it. Find what you're excited about, and how you can craft a unique value statement that other creators can't. It's also helpful to review other creator's libraries, and see what their better performing videos were. I noticed that most hunt youtuber's top content was almost always a tutorial or tips video. I decided to lean into that direction because I know how to make that kind of content, and have been very blessed by the reception! Like home said, keep at it, and develop your skills with every video.
On exclusives - this is a question best polled to ppl with exclusive skins, but a possible solution is, for example, bringing back the Plague Doctor slightly modified, where you can see it's not the original event version but it still has the same flair, or adding something to the event version, in essence somehow marking "I've earned this" from the "I threw money at this"
They need to bake in greyhound and determination and remove the traits. The argument can be made for doctor as well because its now the most popular trait and most expensive. Lastly the Pax should have been our first medium ammo silenced pistol and it should have got HV not the Scofield.
Honestly? I'd love a suppressed Pax. There's not a huge amount of suppressed two slot/one slot weapons. I think Pax would fit that niche really well, especially since it already has access to Poison ammo, which is notoriously really good for silenced weapons.
I think that the magic type stuff could maybe be limited, if that is desirable, by simply increasing trait costs. Necromancer, for instance, is pretty much a must-buy for me and many others. It could easily be increased to more around doctor level, just so that you don't see it so often.
I think the question about Hunt losing it's 1890's feel missed the mark a bit on why. You are right that the magic portion has always been there and that still fits within the feel of the game. I don't mind the "magic" at all. Where I think Hunt is losing that feel a bit is with the addition of super spammy weapons and mechanics. The big one is the Avto, it should have never been added to the game. Personally I think even the Dolch shouldn't have been added but at least that makes sense, with the Mauser C96 actually being a thing during the time period (1896). There is also the Clown & Cringe, based on a gun that didn't exist until 1902. One of the main draws of this game to me was the fact most weapons were either bolt action, lever action, revolvers and the like. It was a slower, hard hitting pace that rewards accuracy and precision. Fanning and levering I can live with, though they have their own problems and if they suddenly vanished I wouldn't actually be all that upset. Even as much as I'd love for dual wielding to be removed from the game, I can live with it, though I wish there was a way they could make it something requiring skill instead of pray to RNJesus and spam bullets in the vague direction of the enemy. What I do not want is this game to slowly creep it's way closer to WWI and then we starting seeing 1911's, Madsen machine guns, and Luger's showing up. Some times I wish the game had been set in 1885 instead of 1895.
Home ive only played this game for 500 or 600 hours, however I always watch your videos, i love them a lot. Its not just clips of gameplay with a short intro and the rest showing you flex your way through a server population. The comedy is great and your voice is an easy listen. The "Vetterli is betterli" poem video in particular sticks out as a top favourite, had a real good chuckle at that one 😅 Between you and Whitty, both of you get my views and comments and my eternal brotherly love. ❤
My dream for the Pax is a variant with a ridiculous 12+ inch barrel that makes the stats closer to the Uppercut, maybe give it an inappropriate amount of reserve ammo too.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to add something to the monicker of a "Caldwell Thunderclap". Based off the Colt M1877, it would be basically a double action version of the Pax. Where something like the New Army fires fast, reloads decently fast, but is pretty wimpy; the Thunderclap would still fire fast and hit harder, but is contrasted by a slow and cumbersome loading process. It's not something you'd want to be on the receiving end of, but a prolonged firefight could leave you prone to getting caught with your pants down due to spending more time reloading (or even straight up running out of ammo) if you don't have good trigger discipline.
The Pax appears to be a short barrel Colt. The Army used the full length one with a 7 1/2 inch barrel. We should get that, with higher bullet velocity, and more ranged accuracy.
I think a carbine pay is to generic. What I like however is a compact ammo version, where the cylinder is swapped it however has more ammo in the cylinder, less recoil and a higher fire rate. I saw a video about that. But maybe the idea is stupid and the lemat already fills that role.
if you wanted to add "cursed traits" i feel like it's only value would be as getting perks beyond the default set. like, you max out all your character perks, and to take any more, you take perks that make you worse in one way and better in another. it'd make it more of an ""endgame"" type of thing.
I think a chopped(snub nose) bellygun conversion variant that has all around worse stats and drastically lower range and velocity than the standard but can still be dual wielded for a compact in lieue of medium slot would be a nice addition, you can find plenty of examples of old conversion 51s and 60s from back in the day done up like that
Idea that I had for a cursed trait, the Pharaohs curse, you get 25-35% more ammo out of crates, but all status effects are doubled. Bleed is always intense bleed, poison intense poison, etc.
The only really unique variant I can think of for the Pax that would set it apart would be a version that has a longer barrel with higher muzzle velocity and more effective range. This would allow it to rival the Uppercut even better, though it still wouldn't have as much range as the uppercut nor its raw power. They could call it the Pax Target or Pax Sharpshooter or something as it's meant to be a more precision based variant.
pax chain pistol carbine? also, regarding that trait for sharing darksight, i wonder if there could be a trait that sort of acts like how the boss whispers used to be. when you enter the boss compound, the icon starts flashing white or red if there’s players. maybe it could automatically flash red for you if someone else enters the compound, and if you kill everyone/everyone leaves the compound it could flash white. doesn’t seem like it’d be overpowered since all of that information is already available to you, but it’d be useful for solo players in particular who have to balance fighting the boss with checking dark sight.
the real victim of all this custom ammo being added is the new army, the fact that both the officer and the spitfire got access to dumdum really encroaches on its niche as a more consistent two tap double action revolver. personally i felt like the balancing between the officer and new army was very delicate but evenly balanced, now however the new army has truly in every single way become just a worse officer rather than a more consistent officer with a big trade off.
A variant of the Pax with a faster reload would probably help it slot into that all-rounder weapon niche more snugly, as most all-rounder weapons are used as a reliable accompaniment to a more powerful and more volatile main weapon like a crossbow, bow, bomb lance, or sparks. Right now, it's only reliable for the first 6 shots and then you have to decide between using your main weapon, or sitting out the 11 second reload animation. Guns like the vetterli don't suffer from this, you can throw in a couple rounds in a flash to keep your ammo constantly topped up. An alternative is to add a weapon mastery variant at 100,000 experience that doesn't change anything about it statistically but it has a bunch of sick sporty animations like the Peacekeeper from BF1, that'd be a more than adequate buff IMO.
i always find the pax to be a pleasantly good gun when i use it for challenges but the scottfield is unlocked at level 1 and better in a lot of ways, personally i use caldwell conversions mostly
Pax buntline and pax double action. Both had real life counterparts in the 1800s. Colt thunderer was the double actions name, doc holiday owned one. Make a birds head grip on it and perfection. Buntline was used by many as well including Wyatt earp.
One thing that I always wanted to see (and the second clip you showed would make this obvious) was choke bombs not only making you cough but completely depleting stamina and sprinting ability. Obviously stamina shots would counter this but if you were coughing up a lung I find it hard to see how you should also be able to sprint at full speed and still use any melee tool to full effect. Just a thought.
I’m fine with the Plague Doc never coming back, even though I didn’t finish the Crow Flies grind. I’ll forever be salty I didn’t get the Shrike Bomblance skin though, especially with the new Scrapbeak cultist hunters. Also big agree on the people wanting Hunt to be a straight up cowboy game. From day 1 there’s been zombies and undead hulks and spiders of Frankenstein’d together corpses, not to mention its set in the 1890s which is on the backend of the “Western” era which was more immediate post Civil War. Big hats and slow guns don’t automatically make something a “cowboy game”. As for me, I absolutely love the mixture of “Weird West”/Southern Gothic/Turn of the century horror elements that make up Hunt.
On the note of a consistent schedule, I had another streamer tell me the same thing and honestly I've noticed a huge difference. I used to basically stream anytime I was on my Xbox and I had an average of 0.35 viewers in a month but after switching to a set schedule, in 2 weeks that average has jumped to 0.72. Obviously it's only been 2 weeks and so my average is still gonna suck until I have 30 days of a consistent schedule but still, it's in recovery and getting better
Hey HomeReel, I was thinking when I saw the last DLC animation of the 2 new hunters, that we have never seen an animation where the hunters reach to the bayou in the ship or in the carriage, It would be interesting to see some of the pre-bayou thing in a animation, or some lore information about the HUNT universe, maybe when advertising a new DLC or the new maw, who knows?
Prototype tube fed springfield (forgotten weapons has a vid on one) would be a nice add. Especially if they add tarkov style of whipes to the game. Slightly faster cycling at cost of a long from empty reload and higher cost to buy.
I’m commenting before the video even starts and I just came to say that the Pax is my favourite. I’m so Happy they gave it more ammo types. The Pax is classic and badass and just feels like “ol’reliable” in hunt. I really wish they had a variant with a long barrel that just gave it better velocity and recoil (not that the recoil is bad on pax to begin with) and damage range. With a slightly higher price. The Pax is sick, the pax does need more love. Long live the Caldwell pax
Other than just adding variants and covering up the issue. The Pax needs a slight buff in fire rate and a buff to reload speed. -- Suggestion: Adding two more consumables: The Coagulant shot: (W/o Bloodless) Acts as a temporary Bloodless/(W Bloodless) Once tagged, you take 1 game tick of damage and then you stop bleeding. Reason being, you can defend against all other ammo types other than Dum Dum. Weak 5minutes, Strong 10 minutes Second Suggestion - The Adrenaline Shot. Gives 2 minutes of Bleed res, poison, regen, stamina. Used in those clutch situation.
To make the pax more interesting they should differentiate it from the scotfield like the real life counterparts. The pax is based on the colt peacemaker, which fired the famous .45 Colt cartridge, and loads from a loading gate. The scotfield is based on the Schofield revolver, which fired a .45 Schofield cartridge, and it loads from the open cylinder when the top break action is opened. Top break revolvers can reload faster than gate revolvers, but their frames are not as robust and must fire less powerful ammunition than solid frame revolvers. Crytek can modify damage, projectile velocity, and reload speed, to make the difference between the two of them relevant.
Thanks for answering my question! Hunt Conservative is a funny way to put it but I think it is an accurate term. I think The Louisiana School of Witchcraft and Wizardry used to be more part of the setting than something that the player used. You were a regular cowboy and you were in the swamp. The swamp was where the ghouls and goblins lived. You found clues in the world. Darksight is something that you had to pick up from a dead boss in the world. I think when the magic became something you did vs part of the setting is when the immersion became a bit stressed. As for the smooth/sticky weapons, think of the Slate vs the Specter, the Krag vs the Berthier, the No Harmy Swift vs the Nagat officer. I think the cyclone is s great example of how to make a good weapon that retains that unique stickiness that is so iconic to Hunt.
Honestly the dark voodoo magic bounty hunter content was what drew me into the game. I think the 1890's weaponry is cool but I've never gotten a Western feel from this game. I'm from the West so the bayou is much different. Might be more cowboy if they added a desert map with Wrangler grunts.
I think the Pax could use high velocity. Also, it might be a good thing to put a deadeye scope on it without the stock. I don't think there is a pistol in Hunt with a scope and without a stock, so that could be a niche it could fill. As far as the traits with a bad side go, people just wouldn't use them. I'm thinking burn traits could be better, or perhaps some traits with a tree or a prerequisite, like you have to get physician before you can get doctor.
What I like about the Pax WAY more than the Schofield is the fact that it is way faster shooting when dual wielding and fanning. I agree that they should have added the High Vel ammo to it instead tho.
I think the pax could get a quick draw variant which could make it the quickest gun to swap to in a pinch but with more sway making it reward first shot accuracy.
How do you see a potential introduction of a consumable countermeasure to bleed rounds, like a "coagulant shot", similar to antidote shot that counters poison bullets?
I think the main reason the Scottfield got High Velocity was mainly due to the Precision. While it's pretty awesome, if your main mid+ range weapon caps at 280 m/s, are you really going to spend perk points to use it? Tho, I still wish the Pax got it. I like the Pax Deadeye one-slot idea that's tossed around. As for Darksight slurp for retrieving arrows/etc, I think due to the jank of losing things below the texture mesh, a 10m retrieval boost should be applied to Blade Seer. Helps counteract a persistent issue until it can get fixed. Lastly, I want to apply weapon skins to the whole family of weapons damn it! Even if it's only applied to the same slot size variants
I know I'm late to the party but for the Pax I think a variant that would be cool is a Pax Precision, Precision Deadeye, and a Pax P. Claw. One handed claw variant and does similar damage to baseball bat and machete or sword.
Is the pax overshadowed by the scottfield spitfire in almost every way, yes, but the pax is still a reasonably usable pistol, lots of ammo choices, decent damage, phenomenal fanning. I wouldn't hate to see more variants but overall i think its far from bad, its consistent and I like it for that.
I defs don't think it's overshadowed, it's just competing in a different niche. 80 bucks for 330 velo makes it a real midrange threat that can compete against heavyweights like the uppercut in a way the scotty can't while still maintaining it's cqc prowess in a way the uppercut struggles to match. The scotty didn't need high velo for sure, but I still don't think it overshadows the pax with it. They're trying to do different things.
If they just increased the muzzle velocity on the pax or something so that it could stand out more that would just be stellar, and it wouldnt have to rely on a new variant to carry the weapon family either.
Pax silencer would be great and would put it in a special place, I played Hunt a long time and remember that it one of the most chosen load-outs, where Pax & rival are used by solo's.
For hunt being magic, like you said it's always been. Hunt was originally the game "remnant" the studios just split. For skins, Ive played like most awhile and have the Xmas skins, plauge doctor. I remember the plauge doctor grind being worse than current events. Would be salt in the wound if they released the exact same one again. It would be cool if they made it slightly different, like reptilian and scaleward.
Honestly I love the Pax, I just take FMJ and treat it like a worse Uppercut. It may not have the highest headshot range of the one slot pistols, but it comes close and has slightly better damage than the Caldwell conversion. Either way I think I just love how the gun feels and looks, I always just run it as a mid to longer range option when I have a short range primary, but don't feel like splurging on an upper cut.
Pax variants that I'd like to see, for the meme or for real: Pix claw: Basically a stabby ice pick instead of a knife. Faster and takes less Stam, less damage though. Light attack is a pistol whip of the barrel instead of a slash. P'axe: A hatchet blade at the bottom of the handle, with a longer barrel and a cloth grip on said barrel. A higher/clunkier blade sight a la silenced nagant. Not fannable. Medium slot? Club Pax: Variant of P'axe that has a shillelagh knot instead of the axe blade. Medium slot, not fannable. Fast as a bat, not as much damage nor reach.
About old skins Crytek can add second unice variant of skins(like new paintjob and/or some small new details) and give those to players who played events and the original variant can be sold/be some kind of reward. But this problem rises again. New players will begin to want unique variants and this can go on the loop forever... so not best solution but its something.
I would like to see them bring back old skins but with variants. So, like, you can get a plague doctor, but he wears gray instead of green. I'd like to see that as an option for bringing them back while maintaining the exclusivity.
Maybe decreasing the reload speed of Pax could revigorate it. A variant with an automatic shell ejector on it perhaps? Drastically decreased reload time with increase in recoil (due to brass flying at your face :D). It wouldn't clash with the time period either, because first auto ejecting revolvers were made in 1870's.
Let me know your thoughts on today's questions!
And use code HOME in the Crytek store if you wanna
No more chain pistols please 😢
Would love to see the pax get some more love.
Also, where's the Centennial Full size Suppressed? We have the shorty version but no full size.
Building on what you said in your answer to the 4th question:
Hunt has had supernatural roots since before early access, when it was still known as Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age.

Calling it the cowboy game was always a reddit thing.
Can't really write off a meme that has saturated the community regardless of platform since the beginning as just a reddit thing.
They should just throw a deadeye scope on the regular pax, keeping it as a one-slot weapon. That would give the pax a totally unique variant and increase the value of the stockless weapon traits
That's a great idea
i really like this idea!
I was thinking a stockless, long-barrel version of the Pax could be fun. Make for an interesting 2 slot weapon, trading increased range for increased recoil or something

@@Lecruidant Why is that a problem? Deadeye is supposed to increased distance to engage and get thumped
I'm sitting out this event - but. . . . I've probably got more time with a pax than any other gun. It is perfect and has always been perfect. Even if it is not.
It was perfect for me, for a few months. Then I just never hit a shot with it again.
Covid symptoms include lost of taste.

Yeah that checks out.

Even if you don't feel like making videos sometimes, your content is constantly great and refreshing. Keep it up!
Yeah I'd dig it as maybe just a general change. One teammate checks, and it automatically flashes for the whole team
"the Marshall we could get a younger pre eye patch and and a Deputy Harden"
I love that idea! I would play those skins all day long 🤠
I 10000% agree that the weapon and special ammo pool is getting oversaturated
I've been advocating a 1-slot deadeye variant of the pax for a while now, personally. Like a modern competition pistol
15:00 the temptation to take that shot with the frag lance was palpable.
a trait that adds the ability to pick up both tokens from a boss
I pick the Pax cause its a chad gun and I don't need a better reason than that personally
These new Scottfield ammo types should have been put into the Pax variants, Crytek's mistake number... i don't even know anymore
I think if no new variant of the pax is an option, making it fire a touch faster would be nice.
I think it's already the fastest firing single action in the game
@@MumpfoonYeah if the pax was any faster you might even be competing with spitfires
@@Mumpfoon Spitfire is actually still single action.
With the traits, i had thought of equipment items that were similar. Like an ammo belt, gives extra ammo but costs a loadout spot or limits something.
What I do think we need, is a compact ammo rifle option that's not Winfield or Officer Carbine
Oh boy cant wait until u find out about the lemat carbine that just got added couple months ago.
Home ive only played this game for 500 or 600 hours, however I always watch your videos, i love them a lot. Its not just clips of gameplay with a short intro and the rest showing you flex your way through a server population. The comedy is great and your voice is an easy listen. The "Vetterli is betterli" poem video in particular sticks out as a top favourite, had a real good chuckle at that one 😅
Between you and Whitty, both of you get my views and comments and my eternal brotherly love. ❤
I appreciate you 😊
My dream for the Pax is a variant with a ridiculous 12+ inch barrel that makes the stats closer to the Uppercut, maybe give it an inappropriate amount of reserve ammo too.
I love the mystic elements, I just still hate solo necro.
I would love to see a dedicated inventory slot for tools such as flashlights and spyglasses. Maybe that would make players want to use them more.
@7:11 Love the Risk of Rain reference!
But maybe the idea is stupid and the lemat already fills that role.
pax fmj needs more range than the conversion
if you wanted to add "cursed traits" i feel like it's only value would be as getting perks beyond the default set. like, you max out all your character perks, and to take any more, you take perks that make you worse in one way and better in another. it'd make it more of an ""endgame"" type of thing.
I remember when the pax used to be considered a Jack-of-all-trades gun. I still use it with the Vetterli to this day
Sweet Jesus Christ, the Pax needs love. It should have gotten a precision, high velocity ammo and precision deadeye. Not scottfield, not uppercut!
a little bit higher fire rate and accuracy for pax could make a really good buff.
An alternative is to add a weapon mastery variant at 100,000 experience that doesn't change anything about it statistically but it has a bunch of sick sporty animations like the Peacekeeper from BF1, that'd be a more than adequate buff IMO.
i always find the pax to be a pleasantly good gun when i use it for challenges but the scottfield is unlocked at level 1 and better in a lot of ways, personally i use caldwell conversions mostly
the pax with high velocity would be so much fun
Pax buntline and pax double action. Both had real life counterparts in the 1800s. Colt thunderer was the double actions name, doc holiday owned one. Make a birds head grip on it and perfection. Buntline was used by many as well including Wyatt earp.
Mr. House-roll, I think Fanning players need some love, as they might have something wrong with them.
i enjoy the comapct feeling of the pax! I dont care about the cons, it just feels so tight and nice in my opinion!
How do you think they could fix dragon's breath ammo? I feel like it's almost never worth taking
All I want is proper reload animations for the Pax were you use the ejection rod.
The black magic voodoo plus cowboy thing is so unique and I hope Crytek leans into that. Super fun world
Hey HomeReel, I was thinking when I saw the last DLC animation of the 2 new hunters, that we have never seen an animation where the hunters reach to the bayou in the ship or in the carriage, It would be interesting to see some of the pre-bayou thing in a animation, or some lore information about the HUNT universe, maybe when advertising a new DLC or the new maw, who knows?
Prototype tube fed springfield (forgotten weapons has a vid on one) would be a nice add. Especially if they add tarkov style of whipes to the game. Slightly faster cycling at cost of a long from empty reload and higher cost to buy.
I’m commenting before the video even starts and I just came to say that the Pax is my favourite. I’m so
Happy they gave it more ammo types.
They added poison and fire recently and buffed the fanning. Thing feels good to me.
Other than just adding variants and covering up the issue. The Pax needs a slight buff in fire rate and a buff to reload speed.
--
Suggestion: Adding two more consumables:
The Coagulant shot: (W/o Bloodless) Acts as a temporary Bloodless/(W Bloodless) Once tagged, you take 1 game tick of damage and then you stop bleeding. Reason being, you can defend against all other ammo types other than Dum Dum. Weak 5minutes, Strong 10 minutes
Second Suggestion - The Adrenaline Shot. Gives 2 minutes of Bleed res, poison, regen, stamina. Used in those clutch situation.
The biggest addition I would like to see is a Hunt classic mode where they get rid of all the crap they've added since custom ammo.
I just want a Pax variant with a longer barrel and a little higher velocity. My favorite pistol deserves some love.
youre in luck, they just teased that in the newest trailer for tide of desolation
Shout out to the homie who asked about your mental health you a real one.
scottfield precision isn't a carbine but it has the firerate and accuracy of one as far as medium pistol carbines go
Thanks for answering my question!
I'd love a Pax variant with an 18 inch barrel. No stock. Just a Pax with a huge barrel that requires you to two-hand it.
If they just increased the muzzle velocity on the pax or something so that it could stand out more that would just be stellar, and it wouldnt have to rely on a new variant to carry the weapon family either.
scotfield "precision" rarest seen used ingame
pax is "never change a runnig system"
so pax gets no more because its runnig good
Pax will be the first medium ammo pistol with shock ammo
Pax silencer would be great and would put it in a special place, I played Hunt a long time and remember that it one of the most chosen load-outs, where Pax & rival are used by solo's.
I want a Pax with an absurdly long barrel like some of the Colt SAA models.
I guess 7 is my lucky number now!
Glad to hear ya find the idea interesting, I get why it'd be too broken.
Can someone tell me who decided to have the dark inferno only on weekends? What a bad decision
Pax variants that I'd like to see, for the meme or for real:
Pix claw: Basically a stabby ice pick instead of a knife.
About old skins
Crytek can add second unice variant of skins(like new paintjob and/or some small new details) and give those to players who played events and the original variant can be sold/be some kind of reward.
But this problem rises again. New players will begin to want unique variants and this can go on the loop forever... so not best solution but its something.
I really want to see a long barreled pax, higher velocity less damage drop off for the trade off of more recoil, sway and hip fire spread.
