I agree. One good case of that is when I want to watch Lord of the Rings and I don't have 12 hours to spend. I just watch Jeremy's reviews and I'm happy.

As far as annoying tag along characters go Leo honestly wasn't that bad. He and Shia had good chemistry on screen and their conversations flowed well.

Alright, I'll just throw out what comes to mind in no particular order.
Forest Gump, Lion King, Green Mile, Toy Story, Shawshank Redemption, Original Star Wars Trilogy, American Sniper, The Matrix, Halloween, The Babadook, Pacific Rim, The Dark Knight, Superman 1978, Deadpool, Hardcore Henry, The Revenant, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. Most of these are critically acclaimed movies that everyone has already seen, but there's a reason why they're obvious choices. I'm sure I'll think of more after posting this comment no matter what.

Eh, I disagree. It's made pretty clear who the bad guys are, it's a cool military conspiracy, and the fight scenes are brutal and badass, you can hear the crunch of bones as they hit each other. The climax is amazing. Oh and Colbie Smulders kicks just as much ass as Tom Cruise here and it's amazing.

Jamin Elvers idk if you're much of a reading person, but after the first movie I decided to pick up the books. SO much better, as it's usually the case but I mean like, leaps and bounds better.
Don't watch the reacher movies, they do the books 0 justice.
I actually am an avid reader and have been curious about the books ever since I saw the first movie, just never got around to it.
I'll check it out, thanks for the recommendation! But I'll still watch and enjoy the movies, just treat them as their own thing like I do with some other adaptions.
am i the only one who saw that the film script has somthing wrong !؟ a major part of the plot involves Reacher being informed that a woman has filed a paternity suit against him with regards to a 15-year old daughter he was unaware of. The daughter, Sam, says that this was her idea, and that she encouraged her mother to do it in the hopes of getting money.
Near the very end, it turns out Reacher has never met her mother, and they don't even recognize each other.
This begs the question: why on earth did they file against Jack Reacher? What connection did he have to them?
As far as I can tell, there is no way they even would have known he existed: evidently he's never met them, so he should just be one of 7 billion anonymous people on the planet. So how did they hear of him and come to file a suit against him if they have zero connection to him? How they would have ever even heard his name?
Had Sam's mother known another person whose name was also Jack Reacher?
The whole daughter subplot isn’t as big in the book, but explains it more in depth, and it’s basically the bad guys within the military that we’re connecting it to reacher to help pin him in trouble with the law, the basics of it

@@slayer_142 yeah, and in the books the corrupt leaders in the military who are smuggling the opium use that to try and connect reacher to the girl. Her saying her dad’s in the military and file a paternity suit against reacher is something the movies came up. In the books she never does that, the corrupt leaders use the fact that she didn’t know her dad was some random military dude and she didn’t know him and tried to connect that to reacher to reinstate in into the military to arrest him.

I actually really like the slow pace. It felt more the books. They also got the reacher character better in this one.

Also I to make a special mention to Angel from the X-men movies. It not that the character was annoying but that what they did with an OG X-man (who by the way is in my top 10 favorite Xmen) pissed me off! That is to say they did nothing with him and was really just passionless fan-service.

Glad to see someone had the same thought of Willie. I know about the dating Spielberg thing, but that shouldn't be a viable excuse.
Also, much of the X-Men featured in the movies had similar treatment to Angel but were featured more. Take Cyclops: Badass leader of the X-Men with significant combat ability and intellect reduced to a brooding jealous jerk boyfriend so we can feel sympathetic about Logan's attraction to Jean. I actually liked Toad in the first one because at least he showed some personality and whimsy.

I love this first JACK REACHER. One of my favourite movies ever. I even brought the DVD. But the sequel was, um, forgetful. The foundation for Reacher is that he's the best and he works alone. When they're trying to make it all about "but she's the female Reacher" i just wanted to yell out STOP!!

The Frankenstein Monster from Van Helsing. Not that he was a bad character, it was just that his voice was annoying. But bottom line is that Van Helsing is underrated.
Really? Van Helsing is one of the worst movies ever made. It's bad on so many levels. Not even so bad it's good or entertaining. The majority of the theater was laughing through the whole movie when I went to see it. At parts that weren't meant to be funny. A horrible piece of shit.

What alternate dimension did you see that movie at? Also, how is it not so bad that its good for you if people where laughing when you saw it? This movie did an excellent job of paying homage to the Classic Universal Monster movies (but ironically being better than the other crossover ones that where very unbalanced with introducing the monster characters without much interaction). In addition, it had good plot twists, a legitimate mystery, a great soundtrack, and action/ dialog that keeps you invested from beginning to end. Although some of the CGI is dated, it is better than any other vampire/ werewolf movie that have come out ever since. I speak for myself (and others) and don't think what a select few of out of touch critic's views that are posted on Rotten Tomatoes think.

The precocious little kid in Real Steel. Granted, the film itself wasn't great to begin with, but I could have accepted Hugh Jackman as an aging boxer who trains robots instead, but the kid was so loud and brattish it got on my last nerve!
Okay he wasn't that bad and you kind of exaggerated. You sound like someone who just hate kid characters to the point you try to look for excuses to hate a kid character. If a kid character is going to be hated it should be Zack from the show The Strain. I can forgive his behavior in the first season because he was new to the situation so it made sense for him to act like a stupid kid(and I'll even say it was realistic), but he had enough experience in season 2 and 3 not to do the stupid shit that only makes things worse. He either is trying to get his father killed on purpose or the creator of the show is purposely using him to create problems/drama for the show to make it entertaining even though in real life a 12 year old with enough experience wouldn't have done the stupid shit he did.

I feel strange about the first Jack Reacher. The mystery was cool, the situations were cool, but Jack Reacher himself... Ugh, he was WAY too perfect. He knew EVERYTHING. What tension is there where the main character is a GOD?

The most annoying side character in a movie has to be Upham from Saving Private Ryan. What an annoying and cowardly character. He let his own men be killed so he could preserve his own life; pathetic. I was so upset when his character lived at the end while almost all the brave and courageous soldiers died.

Alexander Forbes I don't think hight really places that big of a part as actual physical stature. Tom Cruise is like 5 5 and is marketed as a big tall buff kick ass action star. Hardy may be "short" to some but he has a physical presence on screen. His Bane was a clear indication of that a long with that MMA movie he was in a few years ago

Mary Jane from the Spiderman movies. She has as much personality as a cardboard box, she's a liability to Peter Parker, and despite the numerous times she could redeem her character, she decides to make things more complicated for the plot of the movie and gets kidnapped instead.

I think to be able to get this movie, you need to have read the novel. It didn't really stick to the novel, but it was fun to see some elements of the book come to life. It was enjoyable to a point. Not the best, but definitely good. If you read the book, I recommend you watch this movie

Haha, you're not alone! I liked it, too. I thought it was exactly like what you'd expect from a Tom Cruise movie. I love his movies in general. Plus, I was so impressed that the women were just as tough as him.
Zoe Yah I agree, and I actually appreciated the fact that they didn't turn it into this big love story like alot of big action films do today. Not to mention that at no point was it ever over the top. I felt the action was very grounded and believable.
hothamandfauri I was surprised that it didn't turn into a romance. I also also surprised by how feminist the movie became--not that romance means it isn't feminist, but there were a lot of surprising lines, like about how Susan said she had to watch Samantha because she was the woman. If you have a sec and it's okay to say, you may enjoy the review I did on my channel since we seem to have a similar opinion on Jack Reacher.

Hey Jeremy, if you ever get a slow week can you review Star Trek: First Contact.
He's a 'ghost' right? At the end of the movie they show you jack hitchhiking in the middle of nowhere. Presumably stealing cars and credit cards for the rest of his days. What is the point of this loser? 'Ghosts' don't get fuckin lost in the fuckin Amazon rain forest or the grand canyon they get by in the city between people without being detected. That's the challenge right? At least that's how Jason Bourne did it.
All the things you said about this movie are an understatement. You remember that scene where they just got the number of this army general (or whatever), he picks up the phone, they start talking and then the next thing you know Jack comes out of the kitchen (still on the phone) and the lady comes out of the army dudes living room. How the fuck did they get in this guys house 10 seconds into a phone conversation?
One thing I found funny are the running scenes; you know, Jack and that lady running like they're in a 100m race. Camera shot from the front and then from the side or back. It's just that there were so many of those scenes and you lose count where they were running and for what... and then I remember that I just paid to watch this and start laughing hysterically. Anyway I should stop now. Getting carried away.

I agree with a lot of your points, but Cruise was definitely not phoning it in. This is the Reacher character, a genuine tough guy of few words who has difficulty with tact and expressing affection. Cruise captured that perfectly through a lot of subtle acting (a look, raising an eyebrow, his stance etc.). It's just not your typical Tom Cruise "likeable in an instant" role.
