    @reveritus: 1) I really recommend the AF266 instead of the DT because in summer you remove the sliding part and make it a sports windscreen, with a lot of wind on your chest to make your ride fresher. 2) Buffeting is eliminated to the driver and reduced 80% to the pillion.

    Nice bike. I;ve got a similar setup on my 400. Givi v46 topbox w/backrest and wire rack, fehling racks with e22 Panniers. Ram mounts on reservoirs with a TomtomRider 42 on one and Ram X-Grip on the other. Riderscan mirror. Denali Powerhub2 supplying power to my devices is switched with the ignition. Givi xs318 tank bag. Factory heated grips and handguards. BikeVis Led visibility lights with modulator. R&G Footboard sliders. LeoVince Turismo stainless exhaust system. Fender extender.

    • @BurgmanChile
      @BurgmanChile  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      that's a helluv a setup there. how do you like the LeoVince? I put a Yoshimura time ago and didn't last long. I run Gerbings instead of the heated grips I find them better when its cold or doing night/mountain passes as I can plug the jacket as well, on favor of the grips, you can use them anywhere anytime.

    Great adds to the bike. I rode my Piaggio MP3 500 down the Coast Highway from Salem Oregon to Santa Barbara California. GIVI topbox was useful but unbalanced the bike. Saddles bags are a far better choice, keep the weight low.. I wish I had the seat pad you have there, that was the only point of discomfort. Standard seat was good for about 4-5 hours at a time, only. I had my GPS on my bike but your rig is much more durable.

    • @BurgmanChile

      we've ridden two up adding up 396pounds between rider and pillion plus the same setup shown in the video for 3000+ miles no issues, obviously the responsiveness is not the same, it isn't quick bike but once you get to 60MPH from there on no issues on backroads, twisties or highway.

      I have the Burgman 400. I could definitely take a long trip in it but if I was buying a bike specifically for long trips I would go with a larger size the burgman 650 or Honda Silverwing 600. Even though it is a little extra speed that is not the reason. The 400 is good for driving to work but on the highway if you are going at high speed for long periods and you have strong wind it can blow you around because it is not heavy enough. A few times driving home from work when it is very windy I have to slow down a lot which would be dangerous on open highway. The Burgman 650 is basically the same size frame but there is more weight on it. Although loading it down with luggage under the seat is probably a good thing to get more weight on the bike as well.
      Don't get me wrong- I do like the weight. This is a good thing- you get really good gas mileage driving to work, the 400 has just enough weight so you don't get blown around going to the store. But open highway on a long trip is a different story. This is why they make the Burgman 650.

    He hey, Fernando!
    Can you please share little more info about your Denali's? I'm looking to buy this set as well. Are they good lightning up sides of the road? Do they blind oncoming traffic? Do you run them in city? You previously mentioned that they worth every penny. Can you share little more info please?

    • @BurgmanChile
      @BurgmanChile  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      this are the Denali D2, fit perfectly without the need to buy any additional kit. I bought them from twistedthrottle.com. I have them set up to light the road ahead, so they I don't light the sides, you may want to twist them to do that. They are so bright that in two lines roads the oncoming cars may thing you are on high beams. The Denali D2 are meant for night riding they are seen during the day for not as much as other denalis lights as the D4 (bigger). let me know if you have any questions.

    • @Igizeh
      @Igizeh 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Fernando,
      Many thanks for your kind answer. I have few more questions.
      1) You purchased just Denali's, without additional mounting kit, right?
      2) Is it possible to rotate them to light up sides of the road without additional mounting kits as well?
      3) Is it big difference between High/Low beam on Denali's? I mean when you switch Denali from Low to High - do you have same light zone, just brighter, or they do light up bigger space in this case?
      Many thanks in advance. I guess you're only one D2 Burgman owner, so real feedback from you is priceless!

    • @BurgmanChile
      @BurgmanChile  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      1) I purchase the recommended kit but I don't needed it.
      2) No. you may need to modify the mounting kit for that.
      3) I use them only on their maximum setting (it is not high beam but let's call it that) they are brighter and light further down the road.(I'd say about 200+- meters)

    • @Igizeh
      @Igizeh 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for buzzing you with questions, but TT is not answering my questions :(
      Per D2 specs they say that beam Angle: 10° or 40° How do you change this angle? By switching low / high setting pressing button or you have lenses in your kit?

    • @BurgmanChile
      @BurgmanChile  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      sure no problem! yeah, it comes with a button. The D2 does not support lenses. The button that comes with the kit only turns on the lights, you need to connect them to your high/low beam circuit to get them to work on both modes. I have them running always on high beam.

      Are AirHawk2 sead pads worth to pay as AF266 for rider or passenger? What exact version of Airhawk2 do you have?

    • @BurgmanChile
      @BurgmanChile  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the AirHawk 2, the medium cruiser (driver) and the Cruiser Pillion, they are worth only if you are riding more than 8-10 hours, specially in the heat. The windshield GIVI AF266 provides protection for both, rider and passenger I really recommend this, makes highway rides much more quiet and in summer you can remove the sliding piece and it becomes a short one so you get a lot of wind while riding in the city. let me know if you have any questions!

    all the so called REAL bikers laugh at scooters... but very few of them stay in the saddle +3 hours or more... i would tour on this any day of the week, the novelty of a sport tourer soon fades when your butt and arms are killing you.... and steady 75mph gets you there faster than 100+mph with frequent fuel stops.. also the scenery is more enjoyable at sensible speeds..and the burgman rear seat is great for passenger.... i am soon to get another maxi scoot ,my nc700x is great bike.... but i miss the fun etc..

    I've had several 400cc scooters to include the 07 & 09 Burgman 400 and an 07 Yamaha majesty. What I've noticed across the board with all three of them is that although they will get to 70 and sometimes a little over. It's not something you'd want to do for an extended period. I have had the 07 burgman to 78 while passing but it wasn't stable at that speed and wasn't much if any throttle left. The 09 and the majesty aren't any better as far as top end, they all seem to like to hover around the 60MPH range, as for touring I wouldn't say that you could run from say NC to MD at 70 before having problems. The scoots are great around town, but as far as what I've experienced although they do have highway capability I would say that you wouldn't want to go on a major interstate with a 70MPH speed limit for very long

    • @BurgmanChile
      @BurgmanChile  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess it really comes down to how comfortable you're riding it. if you check out the channel and look for "living the dream Chile series" I've ridden more than 3K miles in one trip where I did a tour in Chile through the driest desert on earth, off road, etc. I managed to cruise over 80MPH in 12-14 hours of riding daily. The load and the size of the rider can make some difference on how you feel on long distance touring, specially when you're riding more than just a weekend out. When you're riding any bike, it's certainly safer ride within the range you're comfortable with.

Went to Dr Pulley Sliders and rpm's dropped 1100 rpm's less at 80 mph. Much better! I like riding around 70-75 mph and puts rpms around 6,000

    why did you choose a scooter over a motorcycle?

    • @BurgmanChile
      @BurgmanChile  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I chose this one mainly because of comfort, I think to reach this level of comfort in a regular motorcycle you'd be aiming to a Goldwing or a Burgman 650 therefore if you look at the figures and run the math, you get a really good base package to build upon if you want for long distance touring as I did. Another factor I considered was the ease of maintenance which I run by myself. Btw I own a motorcycle as well.
