Good info and teaching. I have seen some Vertex tutorials in quad design. These Vertex tools also seems to be very capable for designing boat hulls and boat design. Am I wrong or right...?
Hi Justin I know this is a old video tutorial, but I was hoping you may have a answer to my question regarding using the vertex tools. I remember you mentioned there not being a lot of documentation on it's usage however, I found one th-cam.com/video/DZWh9fTzgRg/w-d-xo.html that did a so so job on some of the functions. However at 4:48 of that video there is a gizmo rotation function that I tried to duplicate. However my objects keep merging into it's self instead of the result in the video. to get the object to have multiple vertices I divided the vertical lines of the cube after making the square bar, that enabled vertex tools to see the separate vertices as per the example, the big issue is as stated they do not rotate into clean objects. Any advice or video you have done for a issues such as this?
How do I change from hard selection to soft selection?
Thx for the tutorial
I don't have the program open so I'm not 100% sure, but don't you just type a distance in and hit enter?

It should work fine for that application
i cant figure out how to select hard vs soft selections?
from the video I would say that in the same way as with the sandbox: you have to type the radius distance from the selection

Thanks for watching!
Hi. When I tried it I didn't get that smooth surface but just squares being extruded like. Please halp. Thanks!
same problem here :( have u found a solution?
HOW DO I GET THE INITIAL GRID?
Use the "from scratch" tool in the sandbox tools toolbar
cant get the soft selection, how?
Dude, plz don't put that terrible music in background anymore... It spoils your good tutorials.
It's not in my newer tutorials
