More pruning for you next year, l have loads of seedlings to pot up as well l grew in my shed with lights and heat mat and ready to go.. love your work thx Steve
See, you have the same affliction I have! I can’t pass a seed without thinking about planting it. It’s almost a challenge! Thanks as always for your support Nerina.
@@Steves_Backyard_Bonsai well l just planted on some seedlings as finally have a glorious day and as l was walking around l spotted a few JM grown from seeds off my tree so lm off again busy busy
Try turning the tray 90 degrees to the table. The seedlings should slide right out. At least that seems to work okay for me. Great video as usual. Thanks for all you do. I always learn something
Nice cuttings Steve! I've never had much luck with cuttings . I may have gotten 2 out of 1000 to root. I potted up a sad looking dwarf willow I rooted in water yesterday. I still try almost every time I prune anything though.
Have you seen the new tray that let's you lift the cells out and then push out the root system from the bottom. It is like a silicone liner. Very good to reuse.
If I can keep them alive, the seiju elm are worth the effort. The pine variety is unknown. The tree was very light and airy for a pine, but the cones were aplenty! As they mature, maybe I’ll know more. Thanks Matt
The lean on the pine, try facing the lean that is away from the sun, in sun. The seedling will then correct itself by growing toward the sun. Just a thought
Those small little cuttings, to bad you could not save one for a thimble bonsai. A bowl of water might help to separate the roots on these . Just a thought.
@@kevinglenn9279 It works for me because I know I won’t have time in spring! If you’ve got 4-6 weeks before any meaningful frost, then I think you’ll be ok. Safest is spring for sure. Cheers Kevin.

Despite years of gardening, I still have not got over the elemental joy of seeing new life sprouting.
It’s a paternal thing. And I feel sadness when they die. But there’s always another planting season! Thanks Deep
I love to see when cuttings pull through and show us roots! Super cool, Steve.
Me too Dave. It’s the best feeling!
Love the way elms root happy bonsai making 😮
The added bonus is that they mostly stayed alive! Cheers James
Nice pine seedlings that grew for you. Those pots will get them off to a great start for you.
I hope so Tom. Thanks!

Much appreciated Scott. I’ll give that method a try next time.

I haven’t seen those, but I will look for them. Thanks Tom.
I remember that special elm Steve. Glad the cuttings struck. Did I miss what kind of pines those were? Thanks, keep growing

@@Steves_Backyard_Bonsai Thanks. Sounds like a white pine.

I think it’s called Phototropism. A very cool feature that plants exhibit. Gotta love evolution.

I do like watching your thimble plantings. I might try one someday.
@@Steves_Backyard_Bonsai I bet you could make a great one, Steve.
I have seedlings a well. I'd this a good time to separate and replace mine in Ohio?
