I can’t tell you how long I’ve been thinking about how to make those storm drain fronts. This is truly the beginning Nigel, and it’s probably not going to end for a very long time.
This one is keeping me up nights. How can I make durable curbs with driveway curb cuts? Casting cement might be too brittle at that scale. We’ll find out in future videos I’m sure. Thanks for your comments Dave.
Hey Steve...Not quite following your train of thought but looking forward to seeing where you are going with this idea...Always entertaining and educational...A twofer...Also need to ask you some questions about propagation since you are so good at seed germination...Thanks for great videos and sharing your talents...
Just know that I got past the first hurdle. The rest is still cooking in my brain somewhere and it will be released when it’s ready regarding propagation. My success rate is far below many others, but my philosophy is, if you plant enough seeds, one or two might develop. Thanks for watching, Nate.
Great idea Steve! Are you thinking about adding street signs to your penjing too? Or a fire hydrant? Mailboxes? That would be cool! Can't wait to see it. I have an idea to make the curbs but it's hard to explain.
There will be no intersections so street signs are out. I was thinking about a hydrant, but I have a particular California street in mind and I want to make sure I can get a one to 24 scale believable California suburban hydrant from the 1920s.
In the beginning Steve created storm drains!! Excited to see this develop!

Good job.Steve the beauty is in the detail. Looking forward to watching the progress of this penjing. 👍
This one is a long-term project with only the first step completed. As the ideas come together, I’ll try and show it to everyone. Thank you, Chris.
I like your work with no power tools. Just old fashioned work by hand.
Great idea Steve! Looking forward to this penjing build!
Love seeing your creativity in full swing!!!!

They don’t make files like they use to is right, Dave. Back in the day, a work bench was a work bench, built strong. Just solid wood.
That’s what I get for trying to use my wheeled hydraulic cart as a workbench.
Sleep on it, Steve. The making will come to you.
I agree. I love it when I can go to bed with a problem in my head and wake up with a solution in my hands.
Great find, brother. I’m digging it How will you make the man hole covers?
That’s a great question which I have pondered. And I’ve come to the conclusion there will be no manhole covers! Cheers Billy.
Oh boy im excited for this one, there is a lack of creative and unconventional penjings on youtube !
I have to admit I have no idea of what you are trying to make here 😀😀
I should have shown a picture of the storm drain I’m trying to duplicate in miniature. Sorry. Stay tuned for further planning sessions.
