  • The 2020 update of Nike's popular Pegasus line has seen some major changes to the shoe, with the midsole now being made up of Nike’s React foam and a larger Air Zoom bag in the forefoot. But have the changes improved the Pegasus 37, or should you stick with older versions of the shoe?
    Run Tester Nick has been racking up the miles in the Pegasus 37 and he reckons it’s a big upgrade on previous models, and it might just be the best all-rounder shoe available for around £100.

    Great review as always, may have to invest in a pair. In today's market, its reasonably priced as well.

      Thanks, and yeah, it's def good value in the inflated world of running shoes! It usually hits sale within a few months too

    To me it feels like the grip on the peg37 is amazing on paved roads but really lacking any sort of proper stability on sand/gravel.
    Also the heel is not as easy to lock in as in the previous pegasus.

    I’m a daily runner, I usually do runs from 5km-10km but I am looking to do a half marathon this summer with my friend. So how do you think these would perform? I’m really not too bothered about speed I just want durability and comfort. I loved the review by the way!

    Nice Review NHF! More interested now in a pair of these whereas I had completely written them off before. Grip looks awesome. Love the Fuelcells but agree don't want to run in them all the time. Just picked up Triumph 18s and after 2 runs... I hate them! A lot firmer than I was expecting. Maybe need more time. Anyways keep up the good work. 👍🏻 Ps Bob G can't wait to take those off your hands! 😂

    Exellent review. Question! Where do you buy all the top end running shoes that you review on your channel.? I live in the North East of England and have visited dozens and dozens of sport shops and not one single one stock any high end running shoe e.g Saucony Endorphon pro, Adidas SL20, Asics Novablast, Hoka One carbon, Nike next %. and so on and so forth. The list is endless. Any idea why? Or even better where can I purchase these mentioned running shoes.? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, it's entirely dependent on what the various shops stock. Online is the best bet for making sure you can get hold of everything, but obviously you don't have the luxury of trying them all on.

    • @robertanderson9584
      @robertanderson9584 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Gary Jones I too live in the North East and agree we are limited. Its online for me but of course you then run the risk of shoes not fitting. My Peg 37s were a customised so it was definitely a lottery but as I have found Nike shoes to be true to size for me I took the chance and I got away with it 👍

    Great review, I have a pair of these as my new daily runner, I have about 70 miles on them so far from the last 4 weeks (limited mileage as I recover from Achilles tendonitis). I love them, they have definitely worn in during that time though, at first finding the right shoe fit particularly tight around the top of the foot, but after 20 miles that feeling disappeared. Thinking out loud it may have been a result of swelling in my right foot easing off (it was my right foot that particularly suffered with the Achilles tendonitis) regardless, like you I have found it pleasure to run in at range of paces. Interestingly though my UK size 9 were near enough 300 grams in weight when new. I actually weighed all my shoes when I got these as it has been such a negative theme in Pegasus 37 reviews I'd watched (FOD Runner, Seth De Moor, Ed Budd) while I awaited delivery of my customised pair (with my Nike.com birthday discount applied to the price it was bargain at £83 or so!) . As I am building up a collection of running shoes this and a pair of Adidas Pulseboost HD I bought at the same time but I ran in for a month before the Peg 37 arrived has meant I can save my Pegasus Turbos and Nike Zoom Fly Flyknits for pace runs, concurring with your usage case. This shoe has more than any other highlighted the subjectivity of reviews, as I, like you, love React foam but I now recognise that in our size we don't have suffer from the weight penalty that others with larger feet do.

    Two questions why you choose this colored over the popular blue and green?And would these be ok to walk 10 to 20 miles a day?Great video.

    After 500km run, the shoe is not more responsive in long runs, i just use this shoe as a recovery shoe after long runs for 2-3miles only, durability 5/5 after 500km run

    Would you say the Pegasus turbo 2 is a better daily trainer to pair with a speedier shoe?

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do think the Peg Turbo 2 is still a slightly better shoe all round, but the Pegasus 37 is much cheaper :)

    How do they compare to the pegasus turbo 2?I want an alternative but I’m concerned they will be a lot more bulkier as I have thin feet.

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Turbo is lighter and quicker for sure, not sure I noticed any difference in terms of width though.

    Hello. I have these shoes. I am a runner in 36' on 10km, and I do not see myself running a 10 with, or even a semi: they are not made to go fast. On slow gaits (jogging, EF) up to gaits approaching 4'00 ~ 4'15 per kilo, nickel: good energy return, optimal comfort. But beyond these speeds, we feel constrained at the level of the stride, the sole seems to play more against us than with us, hence a feeling of too much energy expenditure. I wonder what the "Turbo" version of this Pegasus 37 is worth at this level suddenly ... Maybe it is more versatile and therefore quite simply a much better choice.

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi I wouldn't use them to race, but have found them comfortable to use for easy and tempo runs (my tempo 10k would be in around 36mins). They're definitely more built for comfort and logging a lot of training in. The Turbo is a quicker for sure though, it's a fantastic shoe, but it's quite a bit more expensive :)

      I found it was fine, felt lighter on the foot. Still too beefy for a fast day shoe for me, but fine for everyday training and tempo runs

      @Liam Wright I'd recommend getting the peg36 from a nike sale. They quite regularly sell for 60-70e (Maybe 50 pounds) if you aren't too picky with the colour. There are plenty of reviews on this "old" model of pegasus.
