Nice mate in the second game! 😊 You missed the bishop capture because you rarely start your calculations by looking for checks-you mostly begin by looking for attacks or ways to gain tempo against their queen. However, the golden rule is to always look for checks first! 😊 The sequence of 1. checks, 2. captures, 3. threats is very effective for finding such opportunities and can also save you time during calculations. 😉
13:16 Don't know why your opponent played f3. All he had to do was play Ne6 check then winning your bishop. Pawn can't take back because it is pinned by his Queen.
That first game was bizarre haha. I think you tilted your opponent after refuting the ICBM The missed fork on the bishop with check from your queen also made me sad hahaha. Still good job today man, that checkmate was epic
I am here for your entire journey! Also I love the over the board video you did! I recently played over the board and it really is more difficult to play. Keep it up mate!
@ awesome can’t wait! Last month I was a 1000 elo and now I have climbed to almost 1300. Watching these videos helped me see the board more clearly and tactics I never knew about
17:30 ... Queen B5 check and win the bishop :( ... Im watching almost every video of yours... this last week (after hitting ro 2000) you seem unfocused, you were playing more accurate.... reset your mind bro.. when you are focused you have potential to have 80-85% accuracy every game.
Game #2 you were rewarded for courageous play with that delightful checkmate. I am wondering if, at this level, the Alex Benzai simplified pawn storm--designed for lower ELO contests--is not delivering the goods. Both Danya and Niemann get the knight up and involved before the pawns get on their bikes.
Ahh, I see, Owen you did the classic "me" when you're up majorly in the game, like Mr. Fish is telling me I'm 6-8 pts up and then I blunder a mate in one, too! Edit: Why do people play trappy lines and then not study the lines at all? It's like when I play vs the Englund Gambit and I just cook my opponents cuz they gave me a 2 pawn advantage in the opening and had no traps set up if I didn't go down 1 line. It's always better to play a sound opening and get to a good middlegame. Even the Jobava has the opening trap, too, and it's overall sound!
@@Blunder_Man nah it's fine, man, I don't get mad. I totally didn't feel like punching a hole in my laptop screeen and then hurling it like a discus in the olympics. Totally didn't feel that way.
You have a lot on your chess plate. Watch out for cognitive overload! Playing online and OTB, studying chess, and creating content - that's almost a full time job. And yet you manage to pull some pearls out of your sleeve.👍
@omamoka63 thanks lad, yeah I'm struggling. Def feeling overworked, but I'll get it back soon! Gotta just focus up, if I go down then it'll be easier to come up

Yup, it's hard to remember to do in the thick of a game, but I need to make it a habit
Second mate was awesome, well done. Say hey to Mr Chess
Haha thanks bro! Will do!
The is the spoiler blocker
Haha
Fellow Jobava player here. That's a ballsy move castling kingside like that. I loved the checkmate though! Well done.
@@ashwarren5053 hey ash! Yeah, it definitely wasn't correct hahah, but glad you enjoyed :D

I think Banzea just doesn't make the inaccuracies that I make, I'll have to check out niemanns stuff
