There are only three kinds of people in the world. Those that are good and math, and those who are not. You said you lost "4ish pounds" The top pinned comment says 3.5 pounds. Another comment says 5 pounds, etc. Yet even the pinned comment shows that starting weight was 266.5 and finish was 253.5. Can anyone else do this simple math? 266.5 - 253.5 = ? That is a difference of 13 pounds. Not even close to "4ish" or "3.5" or "5". What am I missing here on the math? I thought at first I converted stone to pounds wrong. I did just use a google converter. Still others seem to agree with the conversion, just not what the result of the first number minus the second number is.
Congrats man. Unexpected result though. My body (105kg) can loose a couple in a few days by doing nothing unusual at all, still motivated by your video and wanna see how endurance changes at least 😂
Like you, I have a sit on my butt job all day. I use VR as well as some other things, but I believe that you could just use VR fitness apps, they get my heart rate up as much as a bike trainer, weightlifting, Ringfit (Nintendo Switch), etc. So I think it is a valid workout.

Well done in making it work for you, to really see results you could of ate at a caloric deficit to really show off what proper diet and even light exercise can do using vr! Good for beginners to build up confidence during lockdown and start to produce some sort of base cardio. Next time weigh yourself without clothes on though. If it wasnt lockdown you would probably burn those calories off daily just by being outside and walking about, so this on top of your daily steps would be about double calories burned id say. you should keep this up and update monthly with your progress. Saying this as a qualified PT myself btw. Nice one.
Hey Ayy! I would have changed my diet for a calorie deficit but like I say in the video I wanted to determine the effectiveness of VR as exercise, if I changed my diet then it would be harder to tell how effect the exercise really was if that makes sense? But I high recommend anyone watching what they eat or dieting add VR in to! Defiantly great for building Confidence for those who feel a bit insecure I'm a gym environment as it can be intimidating to alot of people. I like your idea of the monthly updates! That's if my kids leave the headset alone long enough for me to use it that consistently 😂 Nice to get some feedback from a real PT I hope I did the fitness community proud telling people to stretch and warm up etc
Hey Apple! Id recommend all the games I suggest in the video but also games like Battle talent, GORN, Thrill of the fight is highly suggested as well :)
Great video Rex, thanks a lot. ... 14 months later, wondering a) if you continued using VR fitness and b) what long term fitness gains / weight loss results might be?
Hey Frank! I do still continue to use VR for fitness, not as much as my real life has become very hectic, my weight is up and down purely for dietary reasons but long term results are certainly that my general cardio fitness is better and even better than some of my friends that are thinner, iv less joint pain aswell as I have an old shoulder injury, keeping it used and moving but not to harshly seems to agree with it :)
@@EyesonVR getcha. this is prob a prime example - as you yourself say - of you get out, what you put in. no fitness solution can work without commitment. meanwhile, did you discover any other apps that you find helpful?
I didn't discover many more as I was happy with what I was doing, I think my list will be different for others as we all enjoy different things but I do know there's maaaaaaany other apps out there especially after this much time has past
Thanks so much DoomSly82 glad you liked it! I really think there's something great here when it comes to exercise and VR if you do try this let me know how it go's?
Nice experiment. As others have said, you should give Thrill of the Fight a go. If you want to embrace your inner savage then Gorn will get your sweat on too.
Have tried TOTF since and it kicked MY ass 😂 Great recommendation! Gorn i avoided to spare myself the pain of needing new controllers or items in the room i play VR in.

@@EyesonVRI can't run anymore and walking is limited due to my injury. So I took your advice and downloaded some of the games you mentioned and put on a hoodie. I was having so much fun I didn't realize I had played for 40 minutes and when I took a break to grab some water I noticed I was covered in sweat. Not only did my leg not hurt afterwards I was finally able to do an activity that broke a sweat. Thanks again I truly appreciated this video. It's nice to get some activity back in my life.
Very considerate video. I personally was curious as im enjoying my quest 2 to its fullest extent but just started wondering if im losing weight already because i feel lighter and my arms a bit more i guess flexible ? idk but this video is accurate.
You're going to ache whether you stretch or not, it's called delayed onset muscle soreness and I'm afraid stretching won't stop that. It can help reduce the risk of injury by improving your mobility though. Also sweating doesn't mean you're getting fitter, only heart rate really means anything for cardio.
Hey Tom well at least I was right when I said stretching is very important and can stop injury 😀 I did also say you want to be raising your heart rate to help your cardio vascular and improve things. So I think my information was good here 👍

Not at all, like I said in the video I didn't switch up my diet I just kept eating whatever I normally did to make it a fairer test to show just the exercise effectiveness. That second week I probably had some take out etc but to still loose a bit is great!
Not being a dick but next you need to work on your posture. Anterior pelvic tilt leading to a forward head tilt and rounded shoulders caused by too much muscle in the chest and not enough in the back isn’t going to serve you well later on in life. Cant believe you threw it away! That's a fail! Wiping it down with water tisk tisk tisk
As always its a pleasure having you around to watch them, i hope you had a good valentines as well 😁
Well done in making it work for you, to really see results you could of ate at a caloric deficit to really show off what proper diet and even light exercise can do using vr!
That's if my kids leave the headset alone long enough for me to use it that consistently 😂
Nice to get some feedback from a real PT I hope I did the fitness community proud telling people to stretch and warm up etc
What do you recommend to get fit in vr like what games
I would recommend blaston, its a workout if you play it at higher levels and its also super fun
Hey Apple! Id recommend all the games I suggest in the video but also games like Battle talent, GORN, Thrill of the fight is highly suggested as well :)
Iv never played Blaston how do you find it?
@@EyesonVR its just on the occulus store, super easy to find if you look it up
Will do thanks for the tip!
Just got a quest 2. I went try hard on gun raiders for a few hours. I’m damn exhausted today
Thats what is so great about VR! You'll get in shape without trying! :)
Great video 😊 I have to try this 😊
Thanks so much DoomSly82 glad you liked it! I really think there's something great here when it comes to exercise and VR if you do try this let me know how it go's?
@@EyesonVR I will 😉
Look forward to it 😀
Thank you since it’s cold outside and I generally dread working out I’m thinking of getting oculus
I totally get it :) Especially in winter I don't want to go anywhere at all 😂 Oculus can be really helpful 👍
Battle talent is what I use for my arms but I play aim xr for my legs
Battle talent is a good call Richest! And I cant say anything bad about Aim XR i love that game!
Thrill of the Fight is the best for cardio, but kind of self paced.
Great game! Like you say you get out what you put in but I think the length of time you can spend doing it makes up for that would you agree?
Nice experiment. As others have said, you should give Thrill of the Fight a go. If you want to embrace your inner savage then Gorn will get your sweat on too.
Have tried TOTF since and it kicked MY ass 😂 Great recommendation! Gorn i avoided to spare myself the pain of needing new controllers or items in the room i play VR in.
Yessir
Aye aye captain!!
Great video mate very detailed you really don't leave anything out might buy beat saber now
Thanks Landon! I really appreciate that! 😀 Glad you enjoyed it, Beat saber is definitely worth your time especially with multiplayer! 👍
I have one bad leg and I was wondering if vr would be a good option. Thanks for doing this video it was very informative and motivational. Thanks for doing this test.
Happy to help Erik and thanks for watching :) I think VR could work for you but it also depends on how bad your leg is
@@EyesonVRI can't run anymore and walking is limited due to my injury.
Blaston is free and really the best workout.
Best games for exercise: Gorilla tag, Thrill of the fight, beatsaber
All good suggestions Samwich! But Pistol whip is crazy good for exercise! It will make you work up a massive swet, highly reccomend it
@@EyesonVR I haven't tried it. Maybe I'll check it out. Thx for the suggestion!
Oh for real it's a great work out! If you try it definitely come back and let me know yeah? Would be cool to hear what you think of it 👍😀
Starts at 4:30
Very considerate video. I personally was curious as im enjoying my quest 2 to its fullest extent but just started wondering if im losing weight already because i feel lighter and my arms a bit more i guess flexible ? idk but this video is accurate.
You'll be shedding some pounds for sure! Thanks for the kind words :)
I realise that sounds like I'm dumping on your video, I did actually really enjoy it and I like that you didn't alter your diet so it was a fair test.
Hey Tom well at least I was right when I said stretching is very important and can stop injury 😀 I did also say you want to be raising your heart rate to help your cardio vascular and improve things. So I think my information was good here 👍
No worries man I get it you want to spread your knowledge as well and that's helpful in clarifying things here 👍
@@EyesonVR absolutely mate and it was a great video, I was just being a bit pedantic because TH-cam is a nightmare for exercise myths!
Keep up the good work!
Hey no worries lad I get it and good on you for making sure the myths don't start being perceived as facts 👍 Glad you enjoyed the video TH-cam is a nightmare for myths!
Next up add Thrill Of The Fight to the list and add wrist weights ;)
Oooooo that's so smart! Where were you when I was on week 1 of this!? 😂
I need to ask for tips next time before I do this🤣
Forget that😂. Damien Trainor a ex muay thai world champ plays that game and even he gets exhausted from it!
You cannot get more of a positive referral for VR games and fitness than that! That's crazy Alexander!
@@EyesonVR Exactly mate! If you want to see him playing it. It's on his Facebook page, was fairly recent. He even set the guardian up inside the ring at his gym to feel more realistic.

So you went from 19.04 to 18.12 in the first week and then from 18.12 to 18.11 in the second week. This would mean the second week had almost no effect. Did I miss something?
Not at all, like I said in the video I didn't switch up my diet I just kept eating whatever I normally did to make it a fairer test to show just the exercise effectiveness. That second week I probably had some take out etc but to still loose a bit is great!
Of course you can. You can burn a lot of calories in some games and thus lose weight.
Absolutely right Rob your spot on! I'm just surprised that it's really effective! Honestly didn't hold out to lose anything yano?
Not being a dick but next you need to work on your posture. Anterior pelvic tilt leading to a forward head tilt and rounded shoulders caused by too much muscle in the chest and not enough in the back isn’t going to serve you well later on in life. And it’s harder to work on later as well. Im speaking from experience, education, and the heart.
Hey Grimm Gnarly, my posture has always been pretty garbage so my ears are open to what you have to say, teach me! 😀👍
I think I just burned 100 calories ripping head off robots in robo recall. Now to eat some Valentine's chocolate.... Aw fu...
😂 Hey you earned those chocolates Grivoc don't be so hard on yourself 👍😜
100 calories lol
I loled to 😂
I didn't rip off a LOT of heads. Decapitation shamers! 😔😋
du bist ein cool. i think thats how you say. you are cool in german
Its definitely close enough! And thank you Egg I really appreciate it! Hope you stick around on the channel
Why would you wear a hoodie lol. Your body is wanting to cool down
I can't because I'm a lazy bumb. 😂
Then take a seat brother and chill 🤣
I lost 15lb
Thats amazing well done!!
Weight lifting is better than cardio for fat loss.
But any exercice is better than none! :)
I did not know that about lifting I thought you do cardio for fat loss and weight for muscle building/toning, im learning!
Regardless I do agree with you any is better than none and in.lockdown VR provides a much needed cardio boost 😀👍
Dude played music games and called it exercise
Sure did! And I called it 'fun' exercise ;) The whole video proves its effective and engaging exercise almost anyone can get involved in, total win 🤘
Now that's good endorsmen!
