      @@bubufubu Dude that's a dumb comment. Ive followed Nadal since 05 and he had no right to win the first set, down 6-2 in the tie break, he was full stretch to save a shot from Zverev that should have been a winner and then he makes a miraculous running cross court forehand winner and still managed to save all those set points. I don't care how many times Nadal has won the FO, that was an amazing comeback.

    • @iBearD14
      @iBearD14 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Romans8-9 imo it was more an amazing choke by Zverev than an incredible save by Nadal. The point you describe is the perfect exemple of why Zverev would never have won this match. --> very good forehand & didn't go to the net (he moved backward lol) then he waits a bit before hitting his backhand only to hit in the direction where Nadal is replacing. 2 errors encapsulated in 1 shot. At this level and especially against Rafa, you pay the price. Not mentionning the easy volley Zverev missed right before.
      MVP of that tie break is Zverev mental weakness xd

    • @dachampions
      @dachampions หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@iBearD14nonetheless that would be it for everybody except Nadal. Both the forehand and the subsequent backhand are top class. He didn't expect Nadal to return the forehand, that's why he stayed behind. Sure, wrong play, but that was an impossible get for 99,99999% of players. You may say Zverev should put the backhand to the opposite corner , seeing that Nadal is running. But man, he didn't expect to need another shot, nevermind Nadal unbelievable running passing shot. Nobody would even try to reach that second ball.

Is that the Djokovic fanbase's narrow minded definition of what constitutes a "comeback"? Doucheavic fan exposed. Let's see Djokovic have to end his season due to a foot injury, not play any tennis for six months, and then come back to beat Medvedev in the AO Final after being down two sets to none and 0 - 40 at 2 - 3 in the third set. Put Djokovic in Nadal's shoes against Medvedev at the 2019 ATP Finals, down 30 - 40 at 1 - 5 in the third set. Or let's see Djokovic tear his abdomen early on and still pull out a five set win against Taylor Fritz at Wimbledon.
      Djokovic would have cracked and folded just like he did against Medvedev in the 2021 US Open Final, against Nadal in the 2013 US Open Final, against Nadal at the 2012 French Open, against Nadal at the 2014 French Open, and against Nadal in the 2022 French Open.

    When you see this match of Rafa, you can clearly say there is more than sport in the romance of Nadal and RG . Even if Sasha wasn't injured , it was impossible for him to win this match

    I came back to watch this match after I saw the level Zverev displayed against Alcaraz. He was playing at incredibly high level for those 3 hours. Honestly I couldn’t believe that Rafa stayed with him at his age. Zverev could have beaten anyone on this day. It was just ridiculously amazing tennis.

    • @quentinhirschfeld9382
      @quentinhirschfeld9382 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It really wasn't, the only reason why he could keep up with Rafa was Rafa's poor physical condition during that tournament and the roof combined with the extreme humidity, Rafa's topspin wasn't kicking off and every single shots where at perfect size for Zverev.

      Not saying that i would've done better, but this match is incredibly overrated.

I mean we still playing today with a rule, where making before a long time where the sport was not to physcaly like today, the same also for long services game also, insteed 1 minute break should be 2-3 minute break,

    Besides djokovic, THIS version of zverev might be the only player I’ve ever seen actually OVERPOWER Nadal (with Nadal actually playing some of his best tennis) on clay in the long rallies. Nadal had that clutch factor in the first set though, but it still seemed like zverev was going to win. Would’ve been an all time great match though I think

    • @a_goblue2023

      Nadal was nowhere near his best, his forehand was totally ineffective due to the extreme heaviness and his backhand cross-court was unbelievably short, especially for his standards.
      That is the worst semi-final he's ever played here and Zverev choked.

      @@quentinhirschfeld9382 the fact that Zverev made 3 double faults in 2nd set shows how intense the match was. they could barely serve when they were both too exhausted. I wouldn't say Rafa's performance was poor since he outlasted his nemesis, who has always been his upper hand recently even on clay court. He can lose to anyone but always gives Rafa hard time. Zverev really knows how to beat Rafa, and if it wasn't for RG he would have beaten Rafa with his level of tennis

      1) Rafa's spin was incredibly poor due to humidity and roof's closed, he was also physically exhausted (by his previous matches).
