Federer was not serving well. Zverev on the other hand was serving bombs. This is what happens when Federer does not serve well. But we got to see the unbelievable second set ending. But the video did not contain that epic 6-5 game in the second set.

This was a painful match to watch - I remember Fed being terrible, missing every important shot in the match, except during the 2nd set tie-break, as others have also pointed out.
Fed took bizarre risks, approaching the net - I wonder why he was in such a hurry to close out the match. Even then Zverev needed 3 sets to bury Fed - sheesh.
Because as it turned out and by now you've most likely heard of it like me he was already struggling a bit with his knee but not to a point that he couldn't play matches.
@@15Stratos Dunno if it was the knee in 2019, but I wouldn't be surprised. Overall his game was in shambles that day, and don't think Roger has played completely injury free in several years now.

Apart from that comeback game at 6-5 roger played so poorly but i guess you can attribute that to high pressure from zverev’s form
Federer was trash the whole match and yet made it to three sets against Zverev. That tells you the quality of the Small 3 (Zverev, Medvedev and Tsitsipas).

the 3 most beautiful points in 2019 were not even in the highlights, disappointed to say the least.

Hard to approach the net when the ball just sets up to get clubbed. Tennis was more interesting when the ball stayed low and slice was part of the game, now it's only topspin.
Back then it was hats to put heavy spin on the ball or to hit fast and clean on low balls.
My suggestion would be to make the racket heads smaller again and maybe change the strings that it gets harder to just hit blindly bombs.
Making the courts faster? I don't think so, we would habe too many aces and service winners...

It is past time they update the rules and make it only 1 serve attempt per time... With 2 attempts, tennis is getting a bit "boring" to watch, where the 2 meters tall players keep doing aces... It is SO MUCH more fun when the serve is just to put the ball in the game, regardless of how tall you are... By continuing it with the 2 serve attempts, tennis is becoming a sport in which the taller guys basically wins the matches only on serve... If you are born short, I'm sorry, your chances are already reduced...
p.s.: I know there are some "short" guys who do well, like Diego Schwartzman, but they are the exception...
Fully agreed. Servebot grinder archetype(2m tall players who move very well) are boring to watch. They have an unfair advantage - they are overpowered.
