Rafa showing what happens when he's in form, unlike the previous year when he was hindered by injury. Both players are the greatest of all time and hopefully we get another RG showdown this year.
GOATdal wasn’t in form… the dude was playing on a broken foot having JUST recovered from Broken Ribs, meaning he hadn’t even trained properly for the clay. Yet, he still demolished WEAKvak 😂😂😂 that’s why GOATdal is GOATdal 💪
2021 he beat the shit out of him, stop claiming he is injured whenever he loses lmao
Classic Rafa crybaby hypocrizy fans excuses when he loses the match where opponent was better... 😒🤦♂️ Yeah he is always injured when he loosses and when wins the title he is GOAT...
@@donvito7344 You call winning a 4 hour + match against an opponent who didn't play for 8 months afterwards, "beaing the shit out of him"? lol
@@goldwolf0606 novak not escape clay season like nadal escape hard. Nadal not took set on hard 11 years vs novak, and have 0 atp finals. Novak have all records vs Nadal and he is true GOAT.
I will miss them a lot dude.. I mean A LOOOT. Two irreplaceable legends
This tennis match was like holding my breathe for the entire time. I was scared, nervous, apprehensive and excited to see this rivalry show itself, once more. We all know what Nadal can do on clay, but especially on Court Philippe Chartrier. To see him, now in 2024, struggling and not half of what we all know he is, is difficult. We are here for you, Rafa, through the good times and the hard times.
Really wish we have seen this rivalry more in other surfaces as well.

My name is also Rafael, and being one of the greatest admirer of Rafa. I must say that The Definition of Classic Player in Tennis of last 25 years is Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. I came in this world for 16 years and watching his game for last 12 years . Just blessed to be born this era.
Dont you find it strange not to mention guy that has most titles, slams, ATPs, Masters and positive h2h eith both of them?
FINALLY
The highlights of one of my favorite matches of Nadal in Roland Garros
All Novak fans says that Novak is tie with Rafa on clay in 2021
They doesn’t admites that Nadal was injured in 2021 and that’s the only reason Novak could win
This match proves it, the king of clay never fall twice
At his 80% beat Novak in Roland Garros
One of the most epic matches of Rafa, this match shut up the mouth of all Novak fans
Thank you Roland Garros ❤️
I think Novak has beaten Rafa enough times on clay in his prime years to say it's not JUST injuries, they're both incredible. Obviously you'd massively favour Nadal to win on clay but even if he plays well it's never a guaranteed win
what do you mean he never falls twice? lost to the goat in 2015 and 2021 🤣
@@lucasmoreira32852015 come on it’s the worst season for nadal, and nadal 2021 is not prime nadal in clay

A win is a win. No lame excuse. Nadal won AO22 when Novak didn't play there in his best surface. Does it mean he didn't deserve?
I was there! The best match I have ever witnessed. Absolument incroyable
Lucky! Must've been awesome.
A fit Rafa, even at 40, still can beat anyone on clay. I’ll miss this incredible man and player. Love you legend 🙏🏼
omg thank you roland garros

Just Rafa showing Rafael things
Especially in Roland Garros for 19 years😅
@@renewalker8752 definitely, for sure . Rafa is just a classic person off and on field.
Is'nt that a treat to watch? Two of the biggest giants battling it out....with extreme firepower and a lot of heart. Better match than many a grand slam final.
I hope to see them play at Roland Garros this year, whenever these two meet, you will experience peak Tennis, the greatest rivalry in history
Nadal, without injuries, would have won at least 16 Roland Garros titles.
Hopefully he can do a great performance in the upcoming 2024 edition.
He wins 2009, 2016, 2023, 2021 or at least 3 of these in my opinion.
That’s 17!

7:30 What a shot by Djokovic 🤯
🐐 nadal nobody gave him chance all websites and experts were against him but still won this match and tournament too
Ce niveau de jeu 🤯 c'était ça la véritable finale en 2022
Merci pour ces rétros ! Si vous en avez des années 2000-2015 n'hésitez pas !!
Rafa hasn't been the same since this tournament
He played god mode in Wimbledon but the abdomen injury during fritz match made him to lose his form
This is the last time they rigged the draw for him
That was such a tragedy. If not for that injury I think we'd have had the first Novak vs Nadal Wimbledon final since 2011 😭 @@Laland_1196
@@liamcannon9617Rigged the draw?? He literally had to play FAA (#9 at the time) in the 4th round, Djokovic (#1) in the QF, Zverev (#3) in the SF, and Ruud (#8) in the final. He had 4 top 10 players, and Ruud finished the year at #3. Seems like they rigged the draw for your boy Djokovic but he couldn’t deliver 😂
@@SJ-di5zu lol, in this RG rafa draw was difficult, but he has already had several easy draws, US open 17 or 19 for example
I am a fan of Djokovic, but I have never thought that he and Nadal have reached the same strength on clay, not even for a millimeter. I still think Nadal's strength on clay is on a different level. That is why I like Djokovic to challenge Nadal, who is unmatched on clay, and I am happy when Djokovic wins, and I am impressed with Nadal when Djokovic loses.
The only thing I think about Djokovic on clay is that he is the only active player who has a chance to beat Nadal in all of French tennis. But I still think Nadal is much better than Djokovic at the French Open and I respect him a lot.
Magnifique!!

Is there a possibility to upload the full matches between Rafa and Thiem 2019 and 2018??

Guys I think this will be the last match at that level we will see of the incredible era of the big three
Great match.
Not the best in terms of quality, but given Rafa's difficulties just before and Novak's recovery, it was a very dramatic match and tournament.
Not the best in terms of quality?? 😂 This is their top 5,maybe even top 3 matches ever
As a Nadal fan, i think Djokovic is the 2nd best clay courter ever in history, whom without Nadal could have won double digit RG titles.
Federer was better than Djocovid
@@Mlasse954 wuda been true if djokovic didn't have more GS and Masters on clay than Fed

The 2nd best is Carlos alcaraz
@davitchkuaseli234 I like Alcaraz but that's a Lil too premature. He cudnt beat a 36yr old Nole st the French open last yr. Let's wait to make that call after he wins his 3rd RG.
how fitting that Roger won his last match against Rafa on his favorite surface, and Rafa won what will likely be his last match against Novak on his favorite surface.
Djokovic is the reason I started watching tennis
So you started watching tennis in 2011, like most of his fans lol
In their last match Rafa HUMILIATED Djokovic. That was mighty sweet.
This was the last great battle between the 2. Reminds me of Rafa and Roger in 2017 at Wimbledon.

One thing in tennis that is nearly impossible to argue is that there will never again be a player who moves as well as Nadal on clay. While there are a couple of very good clay specialists in tennis right now, Nadal's amazing ability to move around so effortlessly on what is arguably the most challenging surface in tennis is something that we will never see again. He might have the most deserving nickname ever given to any athlete, and this match, as well as the final, where he completely dissected Casper Ruud, show that without a doubt, when he is fit enough to compete, tennis' 'King of the Clay' is a player that has no equal on his most successful surface.
22:29 This is the high tension moment that made Nadal won. attacking forehand by Nadal that is not perfect and allows Djokovic to do a superb return. But Nadal manages to do a running extended backhand volley to finally win the point.
High Quality Grandslam men's matches to me in the era I grown up:
Aus Open: Nadal vs Djokovic 2012 final
French Open: Djokovic vs Nadal 2021 SF
Wimbledon: Federer vs Nadal 2008 Final
US Open: Sampras vs Agassi QF 2001
25 % of GS are on grass, 25 % on clay and 50 % on hard court. And Nadal faced Novak more times on clay (RG) than on all other 3 (or 75% of GS) combined 😂
Still is 10 and 6 against Djokovic in Grand Slam
@@sebastianchavez602só não tem mais GS 😂😂😂
@@sebastianchavez602 He's 11-7 and it's dumb as f**k to say "still", that's the PRECISE reason why. Courts played is biased for Nadal. But anyways, who the f cares, that's only a minor and insignificant stats next to the most important ones, on which Djokovic is the unanimous winner
@@2CSST2 its the most important one and if Clay would be play in 2 or 3 slams we wouldnt even be having this conversation

An absolutely punishing performance from Rafa. And hats off to Novak, who is always a tough-as-nails opponent.
Rafa proving when he’s on his game in clay that no one can beat him. Everyone before this match was saying Nole would smoke him and he had no chance, and then he goes out and destroyed Novak like he was 2013. He proved that 2021 was a fluke and that he was injured, I watched both and Rafas movement here was much better then in 2021
But Novak is the Goat
@@joseramonmenaperez5641 you can believe that all you want. Personally I think if Rafa has Noles injury luck he would have 30 majors
LoL, he played four hours, almost made it 6/0 in the first set, he had beaten Novak two weeks before... stop inventing injuries
@@lucasmoreira3285 you watch him in the end of the 3rd set and 4th set in 2021 and compare to 2022, he’s a different player. Couldn’t defend outta the corners

Rafa nicely mixed up his backhand in this match .... Especially the backhand down the lines from Rafa made the difference.... If not for some errors in the second set, it would have been straight sets
the level of play of nadal between 2022 and today is so much different. He's much faster in 2022. amazing how just 2 years of aging does to an athlete in their late 30s
It's not just the aging, he's played 12 matches in the last 2 years lol, he's kept getting injuries that made him miss AO this year, Indian Wells, Acapulco, Montecarlo... he has no rythm of competition.

The only man who ever beat prime Nadal at Roland Garros is Robin Soderling
That Rafa withdrew from Wimbledon where he was the defending champion after beating Federer the previous year. His knees were cooked at RG. As a matter of fact, just 13 days before that RG upset, Rafa beat Söderling 60 61 in Rome, that tells you everyhing lol
I would have loved to see nadal vs kuerten at the French open
Kuerten doesn't want any of It tho, especially with a one hander
@@theobecquet8477 yeah but he was 6’5 so nadal’s topspin wouldn’t have effected him as much on his backhand side
@@taylorpack7705 It would, if they played in a hot sunny days like they did back then lol now look what's happened against Zverev with the roof closed, Rafa's topspin has no effect, he can't push his opponent back or wide, Zverev was right on the baseline.

Rafa was average leading up to this huge QF and boy did he turn it up by ten thousand notches from here to get revenge over last year's defeat against Novak and proceeded to hold off an inspired Zverev (who unfortunately suffered that ankle injury) and Ruud to somehow win his 14th and potentially final ever RG.
Come on Rolandgarros

Novak planned to play Nadal, 2023, and got muscle up in biceps and chest for extra force. But Nadal injured didn't show up
Novak was actually catching up with Nadal on clay, but he didn't receive plaudits
The Serb was lucky that Nadal did not play last year and that Alcaraz suffered cramps, otherwise he would have bitten the dust of defeat.
Crowd were like Nadal 80 - 20 Djoko..
🇪🇸 Rafael Nadal: 🏆🏆🥇
Where is Rafael Nadal seeding number? Is it his fault he was out of the tour for so long? Is this how you treat a living legend that has won 14! Roland-Garros?
I am a Rafa fan, but i don’t like that RG, he literally numbed his foot with chemicals to be able to play because otherwise the pain would be too important to play. Even if legally it’s not doping, it actually kind of is right? I mean doping is gaining a physical advantage by injecting something in your body. Which is actually exactly that. Without it, he would have never even made it to the thirds round (he said himself during the press interview). So i don’t know, he is still the absolute goat of clay but i feel like that season wasn’t a fair fight
Depends if what he was numbing his foot with was on the prohibited substances list as of 2022 RG. If not, then it would be OK.
@@ashleythomas4112 well no it obviously wasn’t haha and as i mentioned, it was legal just not ´right’ in my eyes like it does the exact same as an illegal one would
@@freezies816 Yeah maybe, tbh I think a lot of players probably take things that are legal, but might do very similar things that an illegal substance would.
A fair fight for the opponents? But was the fact he had chronic foot pain fair? He didn't do anything to enhance his fitness, he just used anesthetics in order to compete equally with his opponents. This is far away from doping and you're definitely not a fan if you still spread such nonsense 2 years after he won the title.
🇪🇸 GOATdal (Nadal) & 🇨🇭GOATderer (Federer) golden era of tennis & legend forever!!! Cheers!!! 👑💪🐐🎾🎾
