Yeah, I asked my self that same question not only after spending close to $1,700 for Stainless works with the ceramic coating and cats. Asked my self same question when installing them. Yes its a major pain in the ass but now that it's done I'm glad I did it. Also to anyone questioning the ceramic coating spend the money. It does lower the engine bay temps. I didn't believe a coating of ceramic paint would really block much heat but it does. Checked it our with an IR thermometer and the temps are below 400 degrees much cooler than bare headers in fact temps are right around what the stock manifolds were. If your going to spend that much spend a little more get the stainless works with the ceramic coating save your engine components from getting baked under the hood by your headers.

the cermaic coating works boi but it never last, that i've seen. it can olny expand and contract. the make things worse there appears to be vrtual no room for header wrap. sure does seems to eliminate the most crucial restriction didn't even think headers would fit on a crownvic or marauder

Found a 01 in November with 74k miles on it for $3300. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, air even works. Still floats on the highway.

Justin if you have not purchased them yet save up some more and get the stainless works with the ceramic coating. This is one of those times the saying applies you get what you pay for. Plus my SW with the silver ceramic coating look as good as the day I installed them they don't turn from the heat.
