It's the exact opposite of what I ask for every single time. I had my hair cut this way for YEARS, but now no one will do it because everyone is wanting the trendy blunt cuts with shaggy layers. It looks horrible on me, but I keep trying to get closer by being more specific every time with my terminology. If I want this exact cut, what particular words should I use? I have just attempted to cut my own hair following this video. And I am loving the result!!!! 😍 previously I had shoulder long hair that was flat with no layers and heavy at the bottom. Now I have pretty layers! Although the final result may not be 100% amazing like the video, but it's probably 80% and I'm satisfied with it 😍 I didn't get to trim properly the back part since my husband was scared that he would mess up my hair 🤣 so I just skip the trimming part and do the layer cutting. I have to admit it was daunting at first but after a few snippets I could see I was making good layers so I was more confident to do it. And I think this style is quite forgiving, it's not fatal even if you don't cut extremely neat, as long as it's still within the guides. I'm loving my hair now ❤️❤️❤️ thank youuuu Summer. Please continue to post more videos!
This is a good endorsement to give this a go. Thanks. Btw I keep my boyfriend as far away as possible from my hair w a pr of scissors. Wish I had a hairdresser like you around here , had horrible experience ,now I trim myself.your doing exactly what I want my hair to look like. Thank you.
This was recommended to me by TH-cam, you explaining this is so much easier to understand you’re a great instructor. Thanks to TH-cam I’m now subscribed to your channel.
She’s an Awesome hairdresser and love how she takes her time to get the layers all right. Gosh how I wish I had her to cut my hair w/layers just exactly like that, loveeee it!!! 😍😍😍
Wow! Amazing haircut! I used to have a stylist that would give me this beautiful cut! She was French, trained in aParis, but unfortunately she moved to another state. Jessica if you’re out there I miss you and your incredible talent every time I have to get my haircut!
I'm usually disappointed by hairdressers so I cut my own hair now. This video really helped guide me and although not as perfect looking as the cut on mannequin, I'm happy with results. 😊 In past a hairdresser doing a straightening on me asked who cut my hair? When I told her I did she said wow, "I couldn't of cut it better myself!" I was really flattered. (I worked in spas and beatyshops and watched the gals cut hair during down time).
Your presentation is so easy to understand even for someone who is not a hair professional….you’re a great teacher, thank you for being so thorough and precise. Wish you were doing my hair.
Love your videos... beautiful cut. I had super long, silver locks and finally decided to go shorter. This is the look I wanted... discussed what I wanted and showed pictures and was devastated when 10 inches were HACKED off with uneven chunks and zero shape. It was all I could do to get out of the salon without bursting into tears. Sure wish I could make an appt with You!!!! ❤
I had my stylist watch this video. She did, then she destroyed my hair. Not even close. Wish I could make an appointment with you too ! @@StylesBySummer
Thank you, its soo difficult to find someone who can do this. I have paid a fortune & searched for years! Going to watch you a few times & try to do my own face frame. You're a brilliant teacher.
@@StylesBySummer Done it, bit of a struggle at the back but I did it wet & then just snipped through dry after the blow wave as you recommended. Its not the best in world (certainly not a cut of yours) but almost as good as I have paid a fortune for in the past. Thank you so very much Summer!!
This video is perfect! This is Exactly how I like my hair cut but the few times I’ve been able to find a stylist that can do it, she moves to some other salon. Then I’m back to Trying to explain how I want it- in some situations they’ve even had computer notes left by my previous stylist. Thank You! I do hope I can better explain it after watching your video.
Thank you so so much! I have been looking for this hair cut for several years now… my previous stylist, who lives in different state, was cutting my long hair like this and it lookd so beautiful. Also it would grow in to a nice longer hair so I visited her only like once in 6 month to treem my hair. Amazing style! I love it so much! Thank you again, now I can show it to my current stylist. I live in Florida. I wish you were somewhere around, I would be your client!
My goodness! Darling you make magic with hair! I bet you can make 20 hairs look like a thousand golden locks! I've never had an excellent or even a good hair trim. I just tell myself, "What is the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut?" I keep telling myself, "Two weeks!!" I so dream of a scissor wizard like you. Perhaps, in my next life. XoX
Yeah I just tried this on my mannequin and ngl I thought I was BOUND to botch this cut……. BUT it turned out to be one of the best cuts I’ve ever done. Beautiful video👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼🙏🏼
YOU GO GIRL!! i myself have been licensed since 1996; and i always wanted to do hair since i was little!! Tho i more leaned towards clipper cutting and edging. My hair is very very long and ive struggled finding products that last!!! Awesome info!
Hi 👋 I just discovered you on TH-cam yesterday as I was trying to find someone who do the type of haircut I like. I’m originally from New York where I had a stylist who did my hair perfectly. I was living in North Carolina the past 23 years and now moved to Texas and all these years I’ve been doing my own hair best I can because I can’t find a good stylist. Needless to say I instantly loved how well you explain everything and your cuts are on point(pun intended 😅) I subscribed right after watching the 1st video. I believe between this Lob and the Long hair curtain I found my cuts. Thanks so much for sharing your skills and knowledge ❤
I have always had my hair cut dry cut. I have really thick hair. The only thing I don't like is the point cutting. I have always layers since 6grade. I like to hot rollers. The point cutting enables me to grab that layer wrap it around my roller , years ago with regular layering I could see my layers. I always had 3 to 4 layers. I like watching your video. Look forward to seeing more. Happy Holidays to you.
Dang girl you are on point! I have long hair and NOONE but my one hairdresser knows this ! Everywhere i have tried over the yrs just dont get it ! They leave shelfie layers or razor( thin out) way to much amd causes my hair to frizz because they are actually CUTTING my hair when they do that. Wish i could get a good a haircut from u !
As a licensed cosmetologist, I love seeing someone trying to teach people how to cut hair, that actually knows what they are doing. Anyone wanting to learn watch this lady, she knows what she’s talking about and gives great step by step, instructions. If you are trying to cut your own hair, I just want to add…don’t!!! It is 99% impossible to get the same cut on both sides of your hair, due to angle you have hold the hair as you cut it. Also, hair dressers hate it when, a person cuts their own hair and then comes in a says ‘can you fix it”? This happens more then you an imagine and since your going to need helping fixing whatever is left, why not just pay to get it done right the first time? Thank you Summer, for taking the time to teach proper procedures. Your one of the best, I have watched on line!
Gratitude for this video this has gave so much impact on my daughter it's been splendid I love it so much she looks amazing after hair transformation ❤️
Watching your videos opens my eyes to what my stylist hasn't been doing. Or maybe she just can't do them comfortably and in that case i need to find a new stylist. With the different cutting techniques you've used in this video i know would give me the look i've been asking my stylist for. I keep getting told " oh you can't have those types of layers with an angled bob cut ". I'm very picky when it comes to my hair and i like my hair to look like it's meant to be so to speak. I don't like to see one side different than the other side. I don't like to see that mushroom look like you described in the back of your models hair. Wow i wish i could have you cut my hair! I know i would be 100% satisfied! The checking and rechecking i love! Doing the same exact thing to each side and everything looking like it belongs is what i love also! Thank you!
Often times salons put pressure on quantity versus quality, so timing is everything to salons. The stylist may want to refine thee cut, but the scheduling’s time window doesn’t allow for it.
Giner Lockwood, nguu tam nguu, ma tam ma, which means birds of the same feather would block together. Enjoy your games and keep you and yours being away from me.
I have had some really disappointing cuts in Australia. It’s disappointing that people aren’t taught probably. Thank you for your great tutorial. Hopefully hairdressers are learning to improve their cutting skills
I love this. I have longer hair though so I wonder if it would look as nice being a bit longer. I like to twist my hair up a lot which also makes it curl. I like the side flow too. My hair is dark with some natural highlights. I am going to try and find someone to do this hopefully not to insult the person doing it but I have tried many time to get this look with a bit longer length to no avail. Thanks for this, you are a very clear and natural instructor.
You are REALLY GOOD. I enjoyed watching you and learning. Again, you are GOOD. Thank you for sharing at no cost. I do my own, but, not well. From you I'll be watching more of.
A wonderful haircut, and the tutorial is clear and interesting. Thank you. I would love if you give a lesson on how to implement the method myself on my hair

Just wanted to say that it's wonderful that you are trying to improve on your weaknesses... your clients will be so much happier! I say this as someone who's been on the other end of the scissors of someone who didn't know what they were doing and got their hair really messed up!

My hair are super long, half way down my bum. I have not had a haircut in 11 years because I never get the haircut I ask for, plus, the stylists chopped the length off my hair every time. So now I stopped getting a haircut altogether. I would love a layerd haircut exactly like this. You respected the length the client desires and still gave a beautiful layered look with so much volune. The face framing was perfect.

I went to school in the 70s already knew a lot from doing things on family that were BRAVE! School is very scary at times but pay attention to everything you can and you’ll have a great career! Good Luck☘️And continue to learn all the time! I had my own business! My daughter is licensed and does nails! Im retired! Very nice wigs!
Great selection and super prices. You won't
be disappointed.
I’ve been a hairstylist for 40 years,, and my technique is exactly like yours ,,, awesome 👏 💇♀️,, sharp scissors is the key 👍👍
💯
How often do you sharpen your scissors?
What technique is this when you over direct and cut with a twist can someone please advise me what technique this is thank you so much
This is definitely one of the best videos on how to do those back layers - Thanks!
Awesome, thank you!

So cool!
Most hairstylists don’t have this level of skill! World class!!!
That's awesome!!
Thank you for this easy to understand how to layer without being too technical and your way of presenting is amazing. Keep up the GREAT instruction!
Very sweet of you to say! Thank you!
Gorgeous. The three: the layered cut, the technical explanation and the stylist!
Thank you!
She diidnt expain the techical...
Your presentation is so easy to understand even for someone who is not a hair professional….you’re a great teacher, thank you for being so thorough and precise. Wish you were doing my hair.
What a wonderfully informative video. I literally was left with no questions. You're a really good teacher.
So happy to hear! Thank you for watching!
Djk34💖💝💘😍 how old you are are you single
Great job! Who knew manikin’s hair looks so natural. Great job! You can always tell when you get a good haircut.
Thank you!
😢
I had my stylist watch this video. She did, then she destroyed my hair. Not even close. Wish I could make an appointment with you too ! @@StylesBySummer
Thank you, its soo difficult to find someone who can do this. I have paid a fortune & searched for years! Going to watch you a few times & try to do my own face frame. You're a brilliant teacher.
Good luck!
You are Amazing!! My hair has been messed up so bad. Wish I could find someone as great as you!! Beautiful!!!!
I hope you can soon!!
Hope your new stylist does you right!!
Awesome cut, wish all hairdressers were this precise👍🏼
I wish!
Thank God for you!!!! There is not a single Hairdresser in Pocatello ID. that has the slightest clue they all just think they do.
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
I was mesmerized by how you cut and style hair. I love your particular style very pretty.
Thank you!
My goodness! Darling you make magic with hair! I bet you can make 20 hairs look like a thousand golden locks! I've never had an excellent or even a good hair trim. I just tell myself, "What is the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut?" I keep telling myself, "Two weeks!!"
I so dream of a scissor wizard like you.
Wow..you are great! Never have I found anyone that can do this and this is ALWAYS WHAT I WANT!!! Sure wish I had you to do my hair!!❤️
I hope you can find someone!
YOU GO GIRL!! i myself have been licensed since 1996; and i always wanted to do hair since i was little!! Tho i more leaned towards clipper cutting and edging. My hair is very very long and ive struggled finding products that last!!! Awesome info!
Thanks!!🥰❤️
Thank you!
Hopefully you have better luck! I've never been a razor fan myself.
You’re literally the best teacher i’ve ever seen!!! I’d love to take lessons with u
All saloon need a hairdresser like you❤️❤️❤️ amazing👏👏💐
So sweet 💗
i can't stop my self to watch again and again ... I really want to learn like this kind of hair cutting style...
Practice makes perfect!
Yay! I just scheduled my appointment with you! It'll be well worth the two hour drive! Excited!
Can't wait to meet you!
Gratitude for this video this has gave so much impact on my daughter it's been splendid I love it so much she looks amazing after hair transformation ❤️
Happy to hear!
I have paid a LOT of money for a blended layered cut, but most just cannot master it. Great job! Now I just need to find someone who can do this!
Also I forgot to mention, i love all your cross checking! Great job!
Thanks again!
Love the end result. Beautiful cut! Great instruction. Thank you!

I LOVE HOW YOU GIVE DETAIL INS CUT. THANK YOU ENJOYED WATCHING,,....
You are so welcome!
I have had some really disappointing cuts in Australia. It’s disappointing that people aren’t taught probably. Thank you for your great tutorial. Hopefully hairdressers are learning to improve their cutting skills
Idiots everywhere, not just in Australia
This is gorgeous! Sure wish my hair was cut like this!

You are Such a talented hairstylist!! This is the cut I always asked for but never got it unfortunately😔
Hoot you get it one day!
You can tell a skilled stylist by the way they handle their shears. Very nicely done! ☺️
Oh thank you!
Thank you! I would still look great on longer hair! Hope you get what you want!
You are REALLY GOOD. I enjoyed watching you and learning. Again, you are GOOD. Thank you for sharing at no cost. I do my own, but, not well. From you I'll be watching more of.
Happy to help! Glad you enjoy ❤️
A wonderful haircut, and the tutorial is clear and interesting. Thank you. I would love if you give a lesson on how to implement the method myself on my hair
Yes! Please
You are brilliant, please bring on more tutorials as you explain the hair cuts so well. Love Aussie older student 😍
WIll be filming one hopefully in the next 2 weeks!
You are fantastic!!! This is the best tutorial I have ever seen for layered hair (explaining step by step👍🏼👍🏼❤️)
I would love to have you for my hairdresser!!! Absolutely fantastic!!!
So glad you liked it!
Baby girl you did it beautifully!! Great cut, great hair control -- that's how it's done!!
Beautiful! No questions necessary! Your actions say it all!
Thanks for the compliment!
(HUG) Beautiful job, looks so perfect. God has truly blessed you with an amazing talent to help your clients look and feel special.
Thank you so much!
Summer, Beautiful video!! You are amazing... Great hairstyles & color always. (Moved)
Tutorial: med length, layered.
To wear wave or straight. Low maintenance...
Awesome tutorial! Short layers have definitely been a weakness for me as a stylist. Thank you for this. I’m going to do this on a manikin this weekend! 🤗
Awesome! Let me know how it turns out!
Just wanted to say that it's wonderful that you are trying to improve on your weaknesses... your clients will be so much happier! I say this as someone who's been on the other end of the scissors of someone who didn't know what they were doing and got their hair really messed up!
Genial !!!!! Manejas a través de la elevación y los ángulos de corte como una Reyna. Gracias por el esfuerzo y conocimientos que nos transmites !!!!
What a beautiful finish. All about the effort put into it. So obvious. Thank you for the tutorial.
❤️❤️
Yes I agree no hair dresser seems to understand this layering technique
I absolutely love this hair cut ❤️
This is exactly the hair cut I need for my fine lifeless hair. I love the textured movement in my hair, but want to keep my shoulder length hair. Where are you located? I need you to fix my hair. Thank you!
You’re amazing at cutting hair! Great teacher too! I ordered me a pair of swivel shears because of you! ☺️
Absolutely love this layered cut . I’ve learned a lot from you.
Happy to hear!
I want this done so badly, it came out beautifully.
@@Nono34470 Les couches rondes douces font cette coupe de cheveux. Le mouvement est magnifique. J'espère que c'est correct, mon français n'est pas le meilleur.

And I watch your video from beginning until the end. Very informative. Good job.
You did an amazing job with this! It’s a gorgeous cut!
Thank you so much!!
Slmat Po .sa tutulral cut God bless and good luck. Mm
thank you for explaining the layering so well! i have to say i thought the hair looked better before the dry cutting with the thinning shears...but that's just me.
Glad you liked it! To each their own!

Absolutely beautiful! This is exactly what I want, I have such thick hair and want more movement. You are an artist Summer! 😊
So kind of you ☺️❤️
I have thick hair as well except it's wavy curly so I'd probablly look like a complete nut job with this style.
By far the best haircut I have seen. I wish you where my hairdresser.
Thank you so much!
Hair Stylist around the whole world, need to know this finishing cut, this layer is what mother around the world wanted, keep Beauty with this layer eventhough storm is coming blow the hair
Thank you for sharing this video. It was very useful for me as a new stylist ☺️
That was my goal! ❤️
Great video! New stylist here and I think where I mess up is not bringing the layers up. I think it would be a traveling guide…
I love it! I wish I can do this in my hair.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow that's so amazing 👏. You defined it so beautifully step by step.
It's difficult to find hairstylist like you.Love ur hairstyle too.
Thank you so much!
Thank You sooo Much!!! I could not be more thankful and apreciative of this video because I don't go any more to salons and so far this is the best tutorial on You Tube. I will keep in mind your techniques to cut hair. I Love how detailed you are. You are a great stylist 🤗🌻🌷🌈
Shes good love how she takes her time
Thank you!
