People criticising Sean need to just remember one thing: Sean is enjoying his life, he loves his dad, and loves music, whether it's his own composition or his father's. It's nice seeing Sean perform.
If anyone has the right to sing John’s songs, that person has to be his son. John sang this straight from the heart, it was his story, and nobody can tell a person’s story better than the person whose story it is to tell, but Sean did credit to his Dad’s song.
@Jerry Parker he does some great stuff solo, and with the Lennon Claypool Delirium tho. Their live cover of King Crimson’s Court of the Crimson King is by far the best version ever, even better than King Crimson. I think it is a tough act for anyone to cover Lennon, even his own kids, because it draws unnecessary comparisons. As a musician in his own right, Sean is very good.
Every Day is a Holiday With You is one of my absolute favorite songs of all time. I love Sean if only for this song (aside from his own solo work).

You go boy! This guy is a freaking Beast.I saw him play for free in a record store and was very impressed,my buddy spoke to him after the show and said he was easily one of the nicest, most intelligent people he had ever met,I liked hearing that.
It's always been hard for either of John's lads to get the credit they deserve - they both sound so much like dad, look like dad, and creatively they are like dad. It's bloody unfair on both of them, they are what they are as artists in their own right and not just plagiarising dad. Whatever magic genes John had, his boys inherited them complete and intact.

No, they are nothing like their dad. At all. They don’t sound like him, or play like him, or create like him. They don’t inherit his magic genes. Because there aren’t any to inherit. These wonderful men are every bit as talented as their talented father, and if anything suffer because of that. Nobody seems to want the little differences that make them special - they just want John clones, which is just ridiculous. But both are still very talented, and that is from a professional perspective. If it helps to know, I am a Royal Conservatory of Music educated and backed professional, with a secondary degree in acoustic engineering and sound engineering, so I say what I say from a learned stance.
I hear John's voice in Sean's singing. We got two sons that have his gift to enjoy still.

This is the first time I heard Sean sing. He has a great voice, similar to his fathers. Well done! I have always loved this song. His half-brother Julian also has a similar voice. I would live to hear Sean and Julian sing along with a recording of John and see how they harmonize, the three of them together. That would be a treat for our ears.

His Friendly Fire is a wonderful album, Midnight Sun is a fantastic album and his work with Les is just one more example of how much of a great musician he's become. I love this guy's work. His voice has similarity but he made it his own with his guitar playing and the subtle nuances that separate his singing from his Dad's . An excellent cover indeed! This is a favorite Lennon song of mine.

I can remember the day 40 years ago when John Lennon was shot, and his cute little boy Sean was five years old. Now 40 years later it would have been Johns 80th birthday. And Sean is 45 years old singing a tribute to his dad that he never really got to know. Sean is allot more talented and creative than allot of people realize. He has some really good music of his own. I wish i could hang with him one day.

his face is both yoko and john in one. first time i ever looked at him this close. that was a good rendition. i listened to the original growing up in the 70's. strange to hear it again for the first time. must be tough growing up in the constant shadow of john in a way. the bar is way to high for a normal kid to bare i would think but he seems to be managing ok. if it was me i would have gone into carpentry or something to avoid comparisons lol.

@Kyozō I've been telling this to my wife for years now, why not why not? 🤣
I think that'd be kind of a cool one-off, but Julian doesn't do music anymore (which is unfortunate, he was really talented). James said he would be game for it in 2012. I think the stumbling block is that they'd have to agree on a type of music to do. Sean is really into experimental music, Zak is an old school rock drummer, James does mostly traditional 90s style Brit-pop, and Dhani does a lot of Alternative... They'd have to find a style that would gel for them.
There’s already a ton of pressure and scrutiny that comes with being the son of a Beatle, times that by a hundred if they ever put a band together. I can’t imagine anyone would want to be put under a microscope like that.

Sean was my inspiration for find my kind of music when i was a teenager. The first time i heard "Home" it blowed my mind. Sean is one of the greatest. I understand the fact he doesn´t like to appear in big shows, but i really love his work. blessings to him and his family.

Thank goodness Sean’s voice has improved so much since the last time I heard him in his teens; his schooling greatly improved him, as before he sounded like his mother. He’s learned to change his tempo much like his fathers.. he sounds so much better nowadays & he’s coming into his own right & the talent he now shares with his sibling is amazing & worth listening to.
I didn't even know Sean could sing in a lower octave like this and I've been a fan since Into the Sun!
