As someone who was born in 2000, there's something about this song that reminds me so much of being a child, it just feels so noughties to me. It makes me feel nostalgic, despite the fact that I only discovered it a couple of days ago. I really enjoy it and keep finding myself returning to it.

I admire him being his own man and not relying on his fathers legacy. It must be horrible to have to constantly compared to the ghost of your father. I adore his father so much I named my daughter Lennon after him, and have a son named Sean. Why can't folks keep their negativity to themselves. If you don't like it listen to something else. But as for me I hope he keeps making beautiful music!!

This whole album is brilliant, melancholy, surreal, beautiful. Sean, regardless of what anyone says, you have really come into your own and found your own voice. I haven't bought a compact disc in years, but had to buy this one just because I felt I needed a tactile, material copy of an album this brilliantly composed; downloading these songs as mere files just wouldn't seem right. His father was murdered when he was very young, he's been caught in the middle with the whole family drama between his step brother and step mother, he's been through the other band members dramas, and has lived the childhood and teenagehood that not many ordinary kids and teens experience. So he really expresses that through his art. Which is very beautiful.
Sean Lennon is a genius in his own right. I really enjoyed Friendly Fire a great deal. It is eerily sad, yet compelling to listen to. I can feel every song to my very core. God, this is a great tune!~
I agree that it is a very touching song. I believe a lot of the criticisms against him, in some manner, have a lot to do with the public's perception of mainly his father and also his mother. There were many who didn't think fondly of his mother and I suppose they see both her and his father in Sean. It is hard to carve out a perspective that is clear from those biases. Nevertheless I feel that this comment focused on the sincerity or raw quality of the track. I feel like he is an ok singer.. but once he finds himself, he could be something far greater. He is very bothered by the constant comparisons made between him and his late father.

This song was very lovely. I'm glad Sean created a song that I, myself truly enjoy. I've enjoyed several songs by Julian, and assumed (wrongly) that Sean had no talent. I have to admit that he writes good songs, and that his voice is much better than I thought it would be.
