Then My "coolest" older sister at 18 bought a laser red 1997 Eclipse GS-X off the show room floor and it was the most gorgeous and cool car I'd ever drove along with a GS-T I test drove at 16,,..took her GS-X to Prom and felt so cool! They were the next generation of performance cars! And now in my 40's seeing them hit the track with rediculous time slips and #'s I love it! I drooled over these as a kid and now seeing them pound the track is so cool! With you I'm loving that a once revolutionary car that didn't get enough attention , is now getting what it deserves! 👍

They get 4g swapped because you will drop a shit load of weight, and you can make power for way cheaper. Whoever said it's hard to make power on a stock 6g has an issue lol. I believe the 6g power record was 13xxhp

To do so, you need weight. Stock the VR4 won Pike's Peak after driving cross country, then back cross country the same day. John Hennessy then did it again.
@@dct124 Having owned both a DSM and a 3000GT, even though the 3000 is much heavier it handles much better stock for stock. Also on the highway, 120+ the DSM starts feeling squirrely, the 3000 stays glued you can set the cruise control to 100 and relax in a 3000gt, cant do that in a DSM.

Today at work, I changed all the powertrain oils on a pristine 11k mile 1995 3000GT VR-4 that drove beautifully. Stock, Yellow with dark grey wheels, brake pedal almost as firm as a Evo X, really nice. Then I get home tonight and watched this video. There is a reason I have a little 1320 Video logo in the corner of the rear window on all of my roadworthy cars. It's just to tell other car guys that I get it.
NEW VR4 3000 GT's, R/T Stealths, GS-X and GS-T eclipses, VR4 Galants , TSi Talons, Supras, Conquests, into the integra GSR's, civic Type-R', Impreza 2.5 RS,..etc.,..etc.,,...😍😍😍❤️❤️ at 16 years old I convinced somehow a local Mitsubishi dealer to let me test drive a NEW 1997 GS-T Eclipse ,..my first experience ever feeling a Turbo,..whole body pressing into the seat , feeling the blood rush of G force and falling in Love with JDM Turbo cars! I grew up In the 1980's-90's and these were ALL cars I drooled over and now watching them 20 years later and with still today epic power for even this day in age I LOVE IT!!!! I Love my Big displacement 7.0 liter 427 Lingenfelter c6-z06 but man, just clicking on this video had my heart racing and going back to the day! So happy so many are nuts about that era of JDM! Also can I say how cool it is with all the "LS swap the world" stuff,.. To see yes , an LS swapped 3000GT but also just as cool to see the reverse , throwing little liter big turbo power plants in muscle cars lol (that Mustang with the 2.0L running crazy times! So cool!All around it's just people LOvIN and building cars, whatver they are and it's an awesome era we love in! Hats off to the JDM throw backs that are also revolutionists! 👍👌

times have change from the good old days were you bought a jalopy get your hands dirty trying to make it go fast. many summer nights i spend it sitting on the drive way with the motor apart rushing to put it back together to go racing that same night. at 17 years old i knew to work on the holleys and put an engine together. today is put the turbo on a junk yard engine and the shit will hit 9s AMAZING!

I sprayed the whole way down the track to try to beat the red talon (Glassbrook) in the RWD finals and the engine let go around 1100ft. The engine diaper contained all the oil. The rod destroyed the block, head, oil pan, and everything else in it's way. I'm putting the backup engine in it now to take it to IFO in NJ next weekend.
I had a 91 model it wasn't the vr4 but the other model .frigging love that car. Silver an the windows were blacked out with tint. Subwoofers amp. Bad ass an good looking car
The best engine for this car is the one that EFF'IN came in it! In fact, it still holds the fastest 1/4 mile record if I'm not mistaken. 8 second car with a 6G.
I'm a huge 4G63 fan, but that 6G72 is a very good motor. A hidden gem that few in the import world know about. Why would he swap it? I can't understand. Maybe for availability of parts I guess.

nerynapolean yes, non intercooled. It’s just a “hotpipe”. I’m adding meth injection on the turbo to help with intake temps. And yes, it’s all custom built by myself.
nerynapolean e85 as fuel also helps. And weeks later I experimented with ducting down to the front bumper hole for stock side mount intercooler opening to get cooler air. Knocked 50-60* out. Meth should knock another 100*.

I saw this car at import faceoff a few weeks ago, he didn't make any great passes there either.
Chris has been working on the car all summer. Shootout was his first outing, and he's been trying to get the hang of radials.

I sprayed the whole way down the track to try to beat the red talon (Glassbrook) in the RWD finals and the engine let go around 1100ft. The engine diaper contained all the oil. The rod destroyed the block, head, oil pan, and everything else in it's way.
I'm putting the backup engine in it now to take it to IFO in NJ next weekend.

I had a 91 model it wasn't the vr4 but the other model .frigging love that car. Silver an the windows were blacked out with tint. Subwoofers amp. Bad ass an good looking car

A fire-breathing 4g engine is among my most favorite on the planet, though if it's not spinning all four wheels, it just doesn't seem right. =D

The best engine for this car is the one that EFF'IN came in it! In fact, it still holds the fastest 1/4 mile record if I'm not mistaken. 8 second car with a 6G.

I'm a huge 4G63 fan, but that 6G72 is a very good motor. A hidden gem that few in the import world know about. Why would he swap it? I can't understand. Maybe for availability of parts I guess.

nerynapolean yes, non intercooled. It’s just a “hotpipe”. I’m adding meth injection on the turbo to help with intake temps. And yes, it’s all custom built by myself.
I was about to say thats some hot air going into the engine. Didn't know meth could make that much of a difference
nerynapolean e85 as fuel also helps. And weeks later I experimented with ducting down to the front bumper hole for stock side mount intercooler opening to get cooler air. Knocked 50-60* out. Meth should knock another 100*.
