Drag Week is so fun. That little green Commanche was flying! That’s what I love about Drag Week, you see all types of cars and engines. From huge NA big blocks to turbod 3 cylinder Perkins diesels.
I drive a dump truck for a living and I live in Anderson South Carolina. I almost ran off the road trying to look at some of these beautiful nostalgic cars I haven't seen in years souped-up hopped up pulling trailers loaded with fuel on tires parts tools you guys did great now you know what the true: street rod is!!!!

Great achievement to compete and finish, amazing that the winners are 6-9 second times all week and driving hundreds of miles. The level of knowledge, skill and tenacity required would probably go over most peoples head. No matter, they arent doing it to please anyone else.
Jarrod Scott, awesome 9:02 in his saweet '61 Falcon,, until I saw this race I did not know it was a 4 speed. Most excellent he finished Drag Week with that quick a time.

Too bad the Swedish guys with Norrlandsasconan 2.0 didnt make it in time. They did a 6.6 something in test & tune. Would have given Bailey a good run for his money.
Bailey is just fine... Gearhead & Driver... And seems to me, he loves what he does. Not everybody needs to put up a show for you. Don´t be such a mama´s boys. Enjoy the cars and some good´ol southern rain...
great week :) would have been a nice competition if the swedes with the Ascona 2.0 made it, on their 7th pass with the brand new car in the states the other day they ran a 6.667, with more power to put down, gona be a great week next year if they choose to do drag week 2019, :)
I think any drag car that claims to be a street car should have to do a road trip before they are allowed on the track. Anyone with money can build a car that is fast on the drag strip but building one that can do a few hundred miles or more on the street then go down the track and drive back home is much harder.

I remember Freiburger joking on the live feed when announcing results a few years ago, there were 5 or 6 Fox mustangs that won their classes and other than one that had a Roush NASCAR mill in it (does that even really count?) NOT ONE was Ford powered. All LS, Small Block Chevy, Big Block Chevy, and Dusty Ward's car with a Small Block Mopar. Non-Ford engined Fords is kind of a thing at Drag Week, hell that Gasser Ranchero has a Blown Hemi in it.
Serps1991 yeah I’m aware of that but ford get to much hate. I’ve seen to many ford powered fords win street,grudge, all types of races. Mustangs are good cars and that’s why there are more than Camaros and vetted combined

No, Magnus and Dennis and their buddies with both Opel Asconas couldnt compete because their ship arrived I think Tuesday or Wednesday. They had to tune and test a little bit so there was no chance in running DW or at least a demo run. They stayed in Orlando doing test runs with the cars, Norrlands Asconan 2.0 ran 6.66!
6.66 on their 7th pass ever in the car, was in the 6s after their 2 second pass ever in the car. the ascona 2.0 will kick some ass next year :) the ship was like 2 weeks late.
